Not unlike white NBA players Joey Bosa Jersey , there seems to be a fascination among football fans for the white offensive weapons in the NFL; namely, white running backs and wide receivers. Why? Why not?Maybe it's because, put simply, white people are seemingly the minority at those positions or maybe it's because of stars like Wes Welker and Brian Finneran, but football fans love white wide receivers. I don't know if I get it, even as a cis white male Nick Bosa Jersey , but even I won't deny that there have been some fantastic wide receivers with a white skin tone to make their mark in the NFL.But, what happens when the players retire? Do they stick close to the sports world they’ve spent so much of their life in and around? Do they go pursue other careers that maybe they didn’t have the time or energy – or even knowledge – of doing and devoting their time to? Do they wind up in prison – well, we’ll do our best not to talk about these guys today. For this, we'll be looking at wide receivers who are alive at the time of publishing, meaning that some of the all-time great wideouts from the 1940s and 1950s who are dead now aren't on this list. Also, this is not a direct ranking list L.J. Collier Jersey , meaning that one career or one player is not necessarily higher than the other; this is simply a gathering of some of the best white, living, wide receivers in NFL history. If you're ready, grab your gloves, line up in the slot, and run about seven or eight yards out for the pass...or ranking. The Seattle Seahawks will enter the National Football League Playoffs as the hottest team in the NFL and a favorite to win the Super Bowl. We saw the first edition of this movie last winter http://www.thetexansfootballauthentic.com/lonnie-johnson-jersey-authentic , and signs are pointing toward the sequel having a similar outcome. Seattle may be better now than the team was at the start of 2014. The Seahawks have the experience of successfully completing a championship run. Quarterback Russell Wilson has only improved over the past 12 months. No defense in football is playing better. Everything is coming up Seattle at the moment. With all of that said, nobody should be seeking to hand the Seahawks the Vince Lombardi Trophy just yet. The Dallas Cowboys, left for dead by many so-called knowledgeable football minds and even by some diehard members of the club's fan base in August, have proven that they can go out west and beat the Seahawks in Seattle, and Dallas is also bringing the league's best offensive line and best rushing attack into the postseason. Those of you looking to make predictions as New Year's Day approaches may want to ask yourselves a question that contains four words: "How 'bout dem Cowboys?"There will be no playoffs for the teams that are already on the clock as it pertains to their 2015 NFL Draft statuses. Marcus Mariota out of Oregon is right now today the consensus No. 1 overall pick, a potential franchise quarterback who has the physical tools to be a star in pro football but who also has plenty to prove to analysts http://www.seahawksauthorizedshops.com/authentic-marquise-blair-jersey , scouts, and general managers over the next several months. Here is hoping that the Duck likes warm weather, because his flight would be taking him south to Florida were the draft held this holiday season.
HOUSTON — There were moments during the recently completed road trip when Evan Gattis‘ teammates appeared to relish his run-production exploits more than he did Justice Hill Jersey , scenes emblematic of the prevailing fondness for the Houston Astros‘ bearded designated hitter.
Gattis is among the many catalysts for the Astros, who take a 12-game winning streak into Tuesday’s game with the Tampa Bay Rays.
The Astros tied the club record set in 1999 and matched in 2004 when Alex Bregman delivered the game-winning single in the ninth inning in a 5-4 victory.
Before Bregman’s hit, Gattis was named American League Player of the Week, earning the honor for the first time in his six-season career.
Gattis hit .417 (10-for-24) with four homers and 15 RBIs for the week, the latter total representing seven more than any other player in the league.
Gattis has been a house aflame this month, leading the majors with 23 RBIs. That total leaves him six shy of the club record of 29 set by Jimmy Wynn in 1967 and matched by Jose Cruz in 1984.
On May 19, Gattis was mired in an extended season-opening slump and was batting .209. He recorded three multi-hit games over his next five starts and has wielded a hot bat ever since.
“I’m thrilled for Gatty because to know him is to know how much he carries the burden of being the DH most nights,” Astros manager A.J. Hinch said. “And he’s very emotional about it. He wants to contribute; he wants to do well. Had a rough start to the season and going through a few swing changes and a lot of work behinds the scenes and then he busts out and literally carries us for the better part of the road trip.
“For him to be rewarded with that recognition nationally is awesome. For the reaction inside with his teammates and coaches, everybody feels pretty good about him.”
Right-hander Justin Verlander (9-2, 1.61 ERA) will start for the Astros (49-25) on Tuesday. He leads the AL in ERA, WHIP (0.76) http://www.ravenscheapstores.com/ben-powers-jersey-cheap , opponent batting average (.160) and OPS (.493) while ranking second in innings (100 1/3) and fourth in strikeouts (120).
He is 8-3 with a 3.29 ERA over 16 career starts against the Rays, failing to record a decision when he allowed two runs on six hits and five walks with six strikeouts over seven innings in a 5-3 win on June 15, 2017, with Detroit.
Left-hander Blake Snell (8-4, 2.58 ERA) gets the nod for the Rays (33-39). He is 0-1 with a 7.50 ERA over three career starts against Houston, failing to log more than five innings in any of those outings. Snell has made two starts at Minute Maid Park, going 0-1 with a 9.00 ERA.
Snell has yielded two or fewer runs in 12 of 15 starts this season, tied with Verlander and Yankees right-hander Luis Severino for the most such starts in the AL. That total includes eight starts surrendering one run or fewer, the second-best mark in the AL behind Verlander (nine).
The Rays’ pitcher usage remains a topic of conversation throughout the majors, with the collapse by Romo only fueling those with dissenting opinions on the strategy of employing multiple bullpen days per week. Six pitchers preceded Romo on Monday, with right-hander Matt Andriese producing the longest outing of 2 2/3 innings in Tampa Bay’s 10th loss in its last 11 road games.
“This is a tough one Iman Marshall Jersey , no doubt,” Rays manager Kevin Cash said. “We sold out to win a ballgame. We got aggressive with the moves; they got aggressive on their side with the pinch hitting. It all basically worked in our favor until the last inning. Leadoff walk, a couple tough pitches, a couple odd things took place and then Bregman comes up and gets a big hit.”
The 2018 NFL regular season has come and gone, and now attention turns to the playoffs, where a new team will hope to begin a dynasty before the New England Patriots inevitably win the Super Bowl. In all seriousness, there are numerous contenders for this year's championship; the Patriots were undefeated at home in the regular season (they went 3-5 on the road), but may have to win a road game in Kansas City to reach the Super Bowl. Meanwhile, the Chiefs, Rams, and Saints are all legitimate contenders. However http://www.ravenscheapstores.com/trace-mcsorley-jersey-cheap , as intriguing as potential playoff scenarios are, it's only a matter of time before the discussion turns to the 2019 NFL free agent class.Teams looking for a quarterback might want to instead look toward the 2019 NFL Draft (although the pickings there are much slimmer than in recent drafts) as the only free agent QBs of note available are Teddy Bridgewater, Tyrod Taylor, and Ryan Fitzpatrick. Similarly, there are few options at running back outside of Le'Veon Bell, but teams will certainly be interested in the likes of Larry Fitzgerald and Golden Tate, that is, if the former decides to return for another season. It's actually on defense where teams can improve the most via free agency. Attractive free agents like Demarcus Lawrence and Dee Ford will command massive contracts regardless of whether or not they stay with their current team. But where is the best spot for these players and, conversely, what team would be their worst option with which to sign?
Justin Timberlake was asked about a bromance with Tom Brady Dalton Risner Jersey , a possible `N Sync reunion and serenaded with ”Happy Birthday,” but the superstar didn’t get a question about the wardrobe malfunction that rocked the world during a press conference Thursday to promote his return to the Super Bowl halftime show.
Timberlake ruled out any chance his former boy band `N Sync would join him Sunday or other potential special guests would show up – including Janet Jackson herself. Timberlake revealed only that his band, The Tennessee Kids, would join him onstage and predicted a show that will include things ”never done before.”
”It’s a moment where you have the opportunity to bring so many people together through what I think is the greatest art form, which is music,” he said. ”And so that has been sort of the ethos of inspiration behind putting the set list together.”
”And, you know, I like to make dance music so I hope everyone is dancing,” he added.
Timberlake is returning to the halftime show 14 years after the ”wardrobe malfunction” with Jackson caused a national controversy. He was not asked about the incident during the press availability.
Timberlake was Jackson’s special guest during her performance when he ripped off a piece of her clothing and revealed her bare, pierced nipple. Timberlake later described it as an unintended ”wardrobe malfunction.” CBS Drew Lock Jersey , which aired the Super Bowl that year, drew a $550,000 fine from the Federal Communications Commission that was later overturned.
During his 20-minute press conference, Timberlake mentioned Jackson’s name when he spoke about who people thought he would invite as a guest during the halftime show. He also named Jay-Z, Chris Stapleton and `N Sync.
He also admitted he had a ”man-crush” on Brady, the New England Patriots quarterback, complimenting his skills and hair. But when asked if he was rooting for the Patriots or the Philadelphia Eagles, he punted: ”Go, Pack, go Will Harris Jersey ,” he said, referencing the Green Bay Packers, who didn’t make the playoffs at all.
Timberlake will be making his third Super Bowl musical appearance – a record. He first performed in 2001 when `N Sync performed alongside Britney Spears, Aerosmith, Mary J. Blige and Nelly.
He praised Minneapolis-born Prince, calling the late superstar ”in my opinion, the greatest all-around musician I can think of in popular culture.”
”He’s a huge influence on me. … The time that I got to spend around him, with him, talking about music – those are memories that I will take with me forever because he’s always been such a big idol of mine,” Timberlake said.
”There’s a lot of bucket list things that are happening this week for me and that’s definitely at the top of that list,” he said. ”I get to walk the hallowed, sacred ground of Paisley Park.”
Timberlake turned 37 years old on Wednesday, and some of the media serenaded him by singing ”Happy Birthday” at the Hilton Minneapolis’ Grand Ballroom.
When asked if he would let his son, Silas, perform at the Super Bowl and follow in his footsteps, Timberlake said, ”I’d rather not think about it because he’s about to turn three.”
”But (Silas) did come to rehearsals yesterday and I was shocked at how quickly he could cover 100 yards T.J. Hockenson Jersey ,” he said.
”Speed runs in our family. I’ve been running routes, too. I just want to throw this out there to (Patriots coach Bill) Belichick, `If all of your receivers go down I’ll be ready, so shoot me a text.”’

Free agency is one of the most exciting times of the year in the NFL. Year after year we see big name players change teams. The other exciting part about the off-season is the trading. We often see major trades involving game changing players in the off-season once or twice a year. For instance, this year we saw the New Orleans Saints trade a great wide receiver in Brandin Cooks to the New England Patriots for a first round pick. We also may be in line for at least one more major trade involving a big name this offseason, as there are rumours flying that the Seattle Seahawks are open to trading Richard Sherman. Trades like these reminds us that there are really only a few untouchables in the NFL and we should never be shocked at any trade. With most of this year's big free agents being signed, it is time to speculate next year's big off-season moves. Yes, that is right, this is going to be a way too early look at 15 big name players that will change teams during the next NFL off-season. Just a heads up that this article is going to make a couple of bold predictions that may surprise some people.
A pair of two-homer performances. A bases-loaded triple http://www.thevikingsfootballauthentic.com/dru-samia-jersey-authentic , followed by another triple. So many unusual things went into Chicago’s biggest comeback of the season that even the White Sox had trouble keeping track.
No matter. They’ll take it.
Daniel Palka and Avisail Garcia each homered twice, and Yoan Moncada tripled with the bases loaded in the 12th inning as the White Sox pulled off their biggest comeback and beat the Cincinnati Reds 12-8 on Tuesday night.
”Well, a lot going on today,” manager Rick Renteria said.
It was a night of non-stop offense, right from the outset.
Trailing 7-2 after five innings, the White Sox pulled even in the ninth on Garcia’s solo homer off Raisel Iglesias, then pulled it out with the help of a couple of Reds errors.
”That last inning was tough,” said Reds second baseman Scooter Gennett Nick Bosa Jersey , whose error opened the way.
The White Sox loaded the bases with a walk and two errors. Moncada’s opposite-field triple off Jackson Stephens (2-1) broke the tie, and Yolmer Sanchez followed with another triple.
Hector Santiago (3-3) fanned six in two innings as the White Sox extended their domination in the interleague series. They’re 17-5 all-time against the Reds, including 11-3 in Cincinnati.
”Surreal,” said Chicago starter Lucas Giolito, who gave up three homers but wound up on the winning side. ”From my perspective, I didn’t get the job done. It’s an awesome feeling that these guys play hard behind you.”
Jim Riggleman was ejected by plate umpire Eric Cooper during Chicago’s winning rally, his first ejection as the Reds’ interim manager. They had words as Riggleman was signaling from the dugout for an intentional walk.
”Then he made some comment that I didn’t like,” Riggleman said. ”That’s kind of how the whole game went.”
The Reds got the better of a free-swinging game early on Christian Wilkins Jersey , surging ahead 4-0 before Giolito could record an out. Jose Peraza opened with a triple, Gennett hit his 14th homer , Joey Votto walked, and Eugenio Suarez followed with his 17th homer . Suarez performed a salsa dance with Votto after he crossed the plate.
Adam Duvall added a three-run shot into the upper deck in left field in the fifth inning off Giolito for a 7-2 lead, the second time in his career that the right-hander has allowed three homers in a game.
Anthony DeSclafani also gave up a career-high three homers – two by Palka and one by Garcia, who went 3 for 6 and extended his hitting streak to a career-high 13 games.
INTERLEAGUE
The White Sox are 4-10 in interleague play this season. The Reds are 7-2. The loss snapped their streak of six straight wins against the AL.
LONG TIME COMING
The last time the White Sox and Reds played an extra-inning game was Game 6 of the ”Black Sox” World Series in 1919. Chicago won that game 5-4 in 10 innings at Crosley Field.
HOMECOMING
Giolito started the Futures Game as part of the All-Star festivities at Great American Ball Park in 2015 and pitched two scoreless innings .
SLOPPY, SLOPPY
The Reds committed a season-high four errors – two by Suarez at third, one by Peraza at shortstop and one by Gennett at second base.
ROBBED … SORT OF
Sanchez’s triple in the 12th came on a weird play. Right fielder Brandon Dixon stretched above the wall and grabbed the fly ball – robbing Sanchez of a homer – but the glove flipped off his hand as he hit the wall and the ball deflected back onto the field.
TRAINER’S ROOM
White Sox: Jose Abreu was out of the lineup a day after he fouled a pitch off his left ankle. X-rays were negative. Abreu pinch hit in the 11th inning and grounded out.
Reds: Homer Bailey threw 103 pitches in 6 2/3 innings of a rehab appearance for Triple-A Louisville on Tuesday night http://www.thedolphinsfootballauthentic.com/michael-deiter-jersey-authentic , giving up one run and seven hits while fanning eight. Bailey has been sidelined since June 2 by a sore right knee.
UP NEXT
White Sox: Dylan Covey (3-3) is 0-1 with a 12.71 ERA in his last three starts, walking 12 in 11 1/3 innings and giving up 16 runs.
Reds: Sal Romano (4-8) went 1-2 with a 3.90 ERA in five June starts. He’s been limited to five innings in four of his last six starts.

The Associated Press Most Valuable Player Award in the NFL is the highest honor a player an individual player can receive following the regular season. The award is given to the player most valuable to the NFL during a given season. The MVP is chosen by a panel of 50 sports writers who select their choice prior to the start of the playoffs. The winner is then revealed the night before the Super Bowl at the annual NFL Awards Show. The award has seen multiple 2x winners as well as an unbelievable 5x winner in former Colt and Bronco Peyton Manning. The one flaw of this award, however, is the lack of position players on the list. Since 1987, every winner of the award has been either a quarterback or running back. It is hard to make any case that this consistency in MVP winners is a coincidence. The voters tend to lean on their biased opinion of who they think should win the award instead of who the best fit would actually be. Whether or not we like a certain selection for MVP, most of the time the voters seem to give the right player the proper honor. Many factors go into the NFL MVP award that makes it a difficult decision to vote on. Some voters believe that without a winning record, outstanding numbers will not be enough to carry a player to the award. Quarterbacks have won twelve of the last fifteen MVP awards and are often selected because they are accounted for the team’s win/loss record as well as every throwing statistic. Here is a ranking of the last fifteen MVP winners not including multiple winners:
FLOWERY BRANCH Youth Jake Matthews Jersey , Ga. (AP) — The Atlanta Falcons were looking to bulk up in the trenches after a disappointing season. They stuck to that plan, even when one potential target after another was snatched up ahead of the 14th pick in the NFL draft. In a bit of a surprise, the Falcons selected offensive guard Chris Lindstrom from Boston College with their first-round choice Thursday night, adding another piece to a line that needed a big upgrade after star quarterback Matt Ryan took a pounding in 2019.As it turned out, Atlanta wasn’t done. Just before midnight, the Falcons dealt their second- and third-round picks to Los Angeles for the next-to-last selection of the first round, which they used to grab Washington offensive tackle Kaleb McGary at No. 31. Atlanta also got a sixth-round pick in the deal. The Falcons were thought to covet a wealth of stellar defensive linemen, but six of those players were gobbled up in the first 13 picks. Alabama offensive tackle Jonah Williams went to Cincinnati at No. 11, depriving Atlanta of another possible selection. When Clemson defensive tackle Christian Wilkins was grabbed by Miami just ahead of the Falcons’ pick, the 6-foot-4, 310-pound Lindstrom became the choice. He’ll now be charged with protecting fellow Boston College alum Ryan, who was the Falcons’ top pick in 2008.“He’s come up to speak with the team a few times,” Lindstrom said. “He’s a great ambassador for what it means to be a BC man. I’m thankful to be able to play with him.”Ryan will be looking for a lot better protection from the guys up front. He was sacked 42 times and took 108 hits, a career high.“We were focused on offensive line,” general manager Thomas Dimitroff said. “We need to protect Matt.”Atlanta hasn’t used a first-round pick on an offensive guard since Bill Fralic was chosen at No. 2 overall in 1985. Lindstrom joins a revamped offensive line that includes two other new guards, free agent signees James Carpenter and Jamon Brown.“I’m just trying to help the team,” Lindstrom said. When asked pointedly if he was capable of starting right away Stitched Desmond Trufant Jersey , he deferred. “I’m just trying to come in and work right now and try to be a great player.”The pick was not well received by Falcons fans watching the draft at Mercedes-Benz Stadium. Many appeared baffled by the choice, perhaps because many draft analysts projected Lindstrom as possibly slipping into Friday’s second round. At least he comes from good bloodlines. His father, also named Chris, was a lineman at Boston University who went on to play three seasons in the NFL. Younger brother Alec just completed his freshman year on Boston College’s offensive line.McGary is a 6-foot-7, 324-pounder who will get a chance to compete for the starting job at right tackle. While the Falcons received offers to move up from the 14th pick and were interested in players such as Wilkins, Dimitroff insisted that offensive line was the top priority.Lindstrom, he added, was the guy the Falcons wanted all along.“We knew we would have to be aggressive,” Dimitroff said. “We’re not looking back. We made the choice of Lindstrom. We’re not concerned about anyone thinking he’s a reach.”Set at quarterback with former MVP Ryan and veteran backup Matt Schaub, the Falcons were hoping several teams ahead of them would go in that direction. The Arizona Cardinals selected Oklahoma’s Kyler Murray with the top overall pick, and Daniel Jones of Duke went to the New York Giants at No. 6.That was it.After the Falcons selected Lindstrom, Ohio State quarterback Dwayne Haskins was scooped up by Washington at No. 15.Atlanta had its highest spot in the draft since 2015, when the team was heading into its first season under coach Dan Quinn. On the heels of two straight playoff appearances, including a run to the Super Bowl during the 2016 season, the Falcons were ravaged by injuries and slipped to 7-9 a year ago.Quinn fired all three coordinators in a shake-up that led to the head coach taking over the defensive play-calling duties.Lindstrom watched the draft from his family’s home in Massachusetts.“It was just my immediate family until I got drafted,” he said during a teleconference with Atlanta media. “It sounds like a lot of people just showed up.” On Saturday, a day after getting stomped by the Kings to fall to 4-9 Youth Desmond Trufant Jersey , the Timberwolves traded Jimmy Butler to the Sixers. Justin Patton went to Philadelphia as well, with Dario Saric, Robert Covington, Jerryd Bayless, and a future second-round pick going to Minnesota. Here are three important things we learned from this saga’s resolution.1. The Wolves got less for Jimmy than the Spurs got for Kawhi Leonard and the Pacers got for Paul George. We’re not even grading Indiana on a curve here given Victor Oladipo’s huge rise after the trade: Oladipo and Domantas Sabonis were a better package than Saric and RoCo, especially since Minnesota is also giving up Patton. DeMar DeRozan and Jakob Poeltl are a better package too, even with Danny Green also going to Toronto. Jimmy’s stock has fallen, or the Wolves’ front office performed worse than the others, or both.2. Elton Brand is extraordinarily brave. Brand just took over the lead job in the Sixers front office a couple months ago. He just watched Butler ruin the chemistry of a young team with shaky internal leadership. And now he’s injecting Jimmy straight into a team with brash Joel Embiid, calm Ben Simmons, and skittish Markelle Fultz. What a huge bet! I love it.3. Jimmy Butler is absolutely in play this summer. Since Jimmy didn’t land with the Heat, Knicks (who were apparently never in the mix, good for them), and Clippers -- three teams he targeted -- it would seem he’ll be in play as a free agent this summer. The Sixers can pay to keep him if they want to and if he wants to. It should be interesting to read those tea leaves. Here are your winners and losers from the trade. I wrote about how the Wolves set expectations and measure success now. Kristian Winfield writes that status quo wasn’t an option for Philly. Jake Hyman writes that Brand now needs to build a supporting cast. Wolves fans seem thrilled to be out from under Jimmy’s dark cloud.ScoresHornets 113, Pistons 103Pacers 103, Rockets 115Magic 115, Knicks 89Bucks 121 Stitched Mohamed Sanu Jersey , Nuggets 114Celtics 94, Blazers 100Hawks 106, Lakers 107ScheduleOn National TV:Pelicans at Raptors, 7:30 p.m. ET, NBA TVWarriors at Clippers, 10:30 p.m. ET, NBA TVSelections from League Pass:Sixers at Heat, 7:30 p.m. ETJazz at Grizzlies, 8 p.m. ETSpurs at Kings, 10 p.m. ETFull schedule here.LinksUh, Carmelo Anthony might have played his last game for the Rockets. This is a great tick-tock of the unwinding of the Butler saga from Adrian Wojnarowski. Former 2015 first-round pick Breshad Perriman has finally landed another job in the NFL. After working out for five teams — Bills Stitched Maurice Canady Jersey , Jets, Giants, Eagles, and Redskins — Perriman has agreed to a contract with Washington, per Adam Schefter. The Redskins have a need at wide receiver. They have placed Trey Quinn and Cam Sims on injured reserve, and although Paul Richardson played in week two, he is dealing with an AC joint injury. Washington also signed wide receiver Michael Floyd, per Ian Rapoport. As for the addition of Perriman, he could bring a different element to the Redskins’ new-look offense. He has exceptional speed and rare size, but his unrefined route running and inconsistent hands are certainly a concern. Throughout his time in Baltimore, Perriman struggled with drops, and it ultimately led to his release. He is now the only first-round pick in franchise history to be released before his rookie contract expired. Perriman knew he was fighting an uphill battle to make the roster entering training camp.He put together a solid training camp and preseason, but it did not start the way many had hoped. Perriman dropped the ball on his first target of the 2018 preseason, and it was intercepted. After his first target Youth Maurice Canady Jersey , he did not record a single drop and put together a solid preseason performance. Perriman finished with 11 receptions for 136 yards and a touchdown, including a 32-yard touchdown.Perriman may go down as one of the biggest busts in franchise history, but head coach John Harbaugh thinks a change of scenery could bode well for the former UCF wide receiver.“To me, that’s the thing that I think he’s excited about and I’m excited about for him. You get a chance to get a fresh start, a healthy start. He had his best camp, because he was in camp and played well [and was] very productive in the games and in practice,” Harbaugh said after the Ravens released Perriman. “I’m hopeful for him. I want to see him do well. You become friends with these guys, and I want to see them be successful.”Quick Hits: Preseason Week 1 With the Hall of Fame Game in the rear view, the rest of the league kicks off their preseason slate starting tonight. While the final score is virtually meaningless, preseason contests serve as a prime time audition for those on the fringe of a roster spot, a platform for rookies to acclimate to the NFL and an opportunity for veterans to ramp up to ‘real’ game speed. Below are story lines to watch for around the league this week. Rookie debuts In a bit of strategic scheduling, The NFL’s top two picks in the 2018 draft will square off in Week 1 of the preseason. Number one overall pick Baker Mayfield will see considerable playing time, given that former Ravens back up quarterback Tyrod Taylor is slated to be the starter for the Browns. Considering Taylor’s journeyman career, the 2017 Heisman Trophy winner is certainly within striking distance of taking over the top spot on the depth chart Stitched Matt Skura Jersey , especially if he shines during the preseason and proves his size will not limit his ability to produce as a franchise quarterback. Saquon Barkley, selected second by the Giants, is one of the most anticipated talents coming out of the draft, and he is already a hot commodity on the fantasy football market. It will be intriguing to see how Barkley’s electric athleticism, good for two 18 touchdown seasons at Penn State, will translate to the pro level.NC State linebacker Bradley Chubb will debut against the Minnesota Vikings on Saturday. He has already impressed the Denver coaches enough during training camp to be slated number one on the depth chart. However, the Broncos have one of the best defense’s in the league, so Chubb will still have to keep pace with an aggressive clip and expectation at Mile High. Over in Miami, 11th overall pick safety Minkah Fitzpatrick is striving to work his way up the Dolphins depth chart. As an Alabama product, Fitzpatrick is no stranger to excellence. During his three years in Tuscaloosa, he recorded 110 solo tackles, five sacks, nine interceptions and four touchdowns. The preseason will be an opportunity for him to prove he deserves the edge over T.J. McDonald who is entering his second year with the organization. QB competitionsWith a whirlwind offseason for the quarterback position, many organizations will rely heavily on the preseason as a means to name a Week 1 regular season starter. Some competitions to key in on include the Bills Youth Matt Skura Jersey , the Jets and the Cardinals.Against the Panthers on Thursday, Buffalo will distribute reps between AJ McCarron, Nathan Peterman and rookie Josh Allen. Drafted in 2014 by the Bengals, McCarron has played in just 11 NFL games, starting in only three of those contests back in 2015 for a 2-1 record. Peterman was a fifth-round selection by the Bills in 2017, and he started two games last season when the Bills attempted to shake up the team by benching starter Tyrod Taylor. The Bills will likely view Allen as the quarterback of the future if either veteran performs well. However, as a top 10 pick, the Wyoming product could be poised to start sooner rather than later, given that both McCarron and Peterman have underwhelming resumes. With such limited experience among the trio, the starting role will be solidified based on the next four weeks. On Friday, the Jets will test the skills of Sam Darnold, Teddy Bridgewater and Josh McCown. The Jets are in a similar spot to the Bills, with two shaky veterans and one unproven high draft pick vying for the job. Bridgewater, who once held great promise Stitched Ty Montgomery Jersey , suffered a gruesome ACL tear during training camp in 2016 and has never fully returned to form. McCown has bounced around the league since being drafted in 2002, with a 23-50 record as a starter. Sam Darnold will look to avoid the fate of many highly touted USC quarterbacks and become a successful NFL starter. Like Allen in Buffalo, the window is wide open for Darnold to being that campaign immediately. With the retirement of Carson Palmer, the Cardinals are evaluating Sam Bradford, Josh Rosen and Mike Glennon. To mirror the Bills and Jets, Arizona’s quarterback room is filled with uncertainty. The two veteran have struggled to produce whether due to injury in Bradford’s case or an inadequate skill set in regards to Glennon. Rosen was a polarizing figure throughout the draft process, and the UCLA quarterback has drawn unfair criticism for having other interests outside of football. Bradford has not played a full season since 2012, and Glennon has a career winning percentage of 37.5. Like his rookie counterparts in Buffalo and New York, Rosen will have the opportunity to win the regular season reps if he produces in the preseason. Unlikely heroes The preseason is when under the radar, thinly scouted players are able to make a name for themselves and force an NFL team to grant them an unexpected roster spot. Who will be the next player to replicate Victor Cruz’s break out performance in the 2010 preseason as an undrafted free agent out of UMass? Who will be the next surprise hometown hero like Adam Thielen from Division II Minnesota State? Bleacher Report breaks down the most intriguing undrafted free agent for all 32 teams.
This selection comes courtesy of CBS Sports"The end is nigh Youth Dontari Poe Jersey , the draft approaches, and, as we while away our remaining hours, let’s take a moment to recognize the one mock draft that might have scored a home run on this year’s Panthers’ draft class. That would be Ryan Wilson’s seven sound mock from last week for CBS Sports.Obviously, he probably got 99% of the projections wrong. That is just how this works. Even the Panthers home run that I mentioned is probably not even a single bit correct Stitched Dontari Poe Jersey , but it does seem terrifyingly right. That’s because there is one pick that I can’t shake as the likeliest pick I have seen mocked to the Panthers all season. Let’s take a look at his first three selections.I’ve been on record multiple times this season stating the Panthers’ biggest need in 2019 is for an edge rusher. No matter how they arrange their front 7, they simply don’t have the quantity of skilled pass rushers on their roster required to compete in the NFL. So, of course they wait until the third round to address that. If pass rushing talent is need 1A then 1B is pass protection. We could all forgive the Panthers for taking a talented offensive tackle in the first round. It would then be totally reasonable for the value in the second round to favor a safety over an edge player. Hurney has to work with the players available and not the players we are all dreaming of, after all. That said, it’s not great when your first Youth Torrey Smith Jersey , best attempt at addressing the edge of your defense is drafting a guy on the smaller side who played at a smaller school and who is known for not being able to set the edge in the running game. I’m not against drafting Oshane Ximines in general, and not even against drafting him in the third round. I worry because this whole mock draft — for all that it doesn’t have them taking a linebacker in the first round— seems very Panthers, and I worry because taking Ximenes won’t be enough to address the defensive line deficiences. I don’t think any one pick will be. But, given Hurney’s history with drafting defensive ends, Ximines does seem tailor made for one of the Panthers’ draft picks. Here’s to hoping the inaccuracy in this mock draft wasn’t in missing the Panthers offering a 2020 first round pick to swoop back into the second round for this Stitched Torrey Smith Jersey , or any other, edge defender. The Panthers were back on the practice field today ahead of their Week 11 matchup with the Detroit Lions, and on the injury front there’s not much to worry about at this time. Wide receiver Torrey Smith—who has missed the last three games with a knee injury—worked out on the side with trainers today. He was officially listed on the injury report as a DNP, but the fact that he’s doing work on the side is encouraging. I don’t want to speculate too much, but I believe we’ll see him back on the field this Sunday in Detroit.Center Ryan Kalil (ankle) and cornerback James Bradberry (illness)—who missed practice yesterday—were back in action today Youth David Mayo Jersey , which is also good news. Both are expected to play on Sunday. Here’s today’s full injury report:Panthers injury reportDid not participate in practiceWR Torrey Smith (knee)Limited participation in practiceC Ryan Kalil (ankle)QB Cam Newton (shoulder)TE Greg Olsen (foot)Full participation in practiceN/APractice StatusDid not participate in practice = 0% of a player’s normal repetitionsLimited participation in practice = Less than 100% of a player’s normal repetitionsFull participation in practice = 100% of a player’s normal repetitionsGame StatusOut = Player will not playDoubtful = Player unlikely to playQuestionable = Uncertain if player will play
Smith is a likely day-three or undrafted prospect with great athletic ability."Through early Monday afternoon David Bakhtiari Jersey White , the Green Bay Packers had been connected to just four NFL Draft prospects who had reportedly scheduled pre-draft visits with the team. All four of those players are seen as day-one or day-two prospects, continuing general manager Brian Gutekunst’s trend of inviting several potential early-round picks to the team facilities. However, Monday afternoon also brought news of the first late-round or potentially-undrafted player who will be in Green Bay for a visit. That player is Boston College wide receiver Jeff Smith, who likely showed up on the Packers’ radar thanks to an impressive Pro Day performance a few weeks ago. Greg Auman of The Athletic first reported the news.Smith, a former quarterback recruit from California, switched to receiver after his freshman year. He played a multifacted role in the Eagles’ offense over the next three years, picking up at least 296 receiving yards and more than 100 rushing yards in each of his final three seasons. However, he never exceeded 30 receptions or 400 yards through the air in any one campaign. As a result, Smith’s projection to the NFL is largely due to his skill set and athleticism rather than his college production. On that note, however, Smith’s Pro Day opened some eyes, as the 6-foot, 191-pound receiver was timed around 4.35 seconds in the 40-yard dash with a 6.87-second time in the 3-cone drill and a 4.06-second time in the short shuttle (h/t to Gil Brandt for the numbers). Those results put him well inside the typical numbers for a Packers receiver draft pick.Smith’s work at BC makes him appear to be an intriguing option as a slot receiver in particular. Many of Smith’s carries came on jet sweeps, a play that the Packers seem likely to implement more under head coach Matt LaFleur. Take a look at this brief highlight package of the dynamic receiver:If the Packers end up eschewing the receiver position on the first two days of the 2019 NFL Draft for other positions, don’t be surprised if Smith ends up hearing his name called to come to Green Bay late on April 27th. When the Packers looked up at the scoreboard with the seconds ticking down at the end of the first half, it showed Lions 24 Packers 0. Yet Mike McCarthy’s team out-gained the Lions 201-160 http://www.packerslockerroom.com/authentic-aaron-jones-jersey , ran more plays, were more efficient, and had the ball longer. Three turnovers, including two sloppy fumbles from Aaron Rodgers turned into 17 Lions points and three Mason Crosby misses were the difference in a game that quickly turned into a Murphy’s Law game. Even once the offense started to find its feet in the second half, the deficit overwhelmed them and the defense needed just one or two more stops than it ultimately managed. In the end, a 31-23 loss hung on the turnovers and special teams problems on a day that is a microcosm for the Packers season to this point: penalties and bad execution prevents a talented team from reaching its potential. A penalty took a touchdown off the board on the Lions opening drive, only to see Detroit regain the ball on a dubious call that Kevin King touched the ball on a punt return, setting up the Lions for a one-yard touchdown. But Aaron Rodgers and the Packers, down two of their top three receivers, responded. A DPI call and 17-yard dig route to Equanimeous St. Brown offered Green Bay some momentum, but the drive stalled, leading to a Crosby field goal attempt. Miss. This was the theme of Crosby’s day. Four plays later, the Lions found the end zone again after Josh Jackson misplayed a sideline throw to Kenny Golladay that become a 60-yard catch and run instead of what looked like a possible interception. On the ensuing possession, Rodgers, who looked off most of the first half, lazily rolled right andhad the ball stripped from behind. Luckily for Green Bay Bart Starr Jersey White , the Lions managed just a field goal, but the deficit was already 17-0 and nothing that could go right for this team had gone right. Mike Pettine got the defense going after that field goal, but the offense didn’t follow suit. Rodgers and the offense missed two more field goals, points that could have at least made the game interesting. And after the second straight punt for the Lions, the offense got the ball back with 1:30 left and plenty of time to go put points on the board. Another fumble from Rodgers led to a Lions touchdown and the game appeared over at that point. But McCarthy handed the game over to Rodgers in the second half and the two-time MVP found his form. On the first drive, Rodgers looked more decisive and more accurate on an 11-play 75-yard touchdown drive. This was the drive QB1 had been asking for. Multiple big plays to Adams and Graham including a key fourth down propelled the Packers first successful scoring drives and the two-point conversion cut the deficit to 24-8. A borderline taunting call on rookie cornerback Tony Brown extended a Lions drive to set up a Matt Prater field goal, but there must have been a draft at Ford Field Sunday because Prater shanked the kick. Rodgers got rolling again with quick passes and found rookie Marqueze Valdes-Scantling on a handful of throws to the middle of the field. On a day when quarterback and receiver were often not on the same page, QB1 seemed to build something with MVS, who had his second touchdown of the day overturned despite a great play. Rodgers found Lance Kendricks for the one-yard score immediately following the review, but the two-point conversion failed, making the game 24-14. That third-quarter spirt helped the aesthetics of the game, but the Lions marched the ball right back down the Packers’ throats, extending the lead to 31-14 and although the game wasn’t totally out of reach, it sure felt that way. Another successful drive from the Packers offense featured better balance, with solid running from Jamaal Williams and big plays from Adams and EQ, ending in a beautiful out route from Adams on Darius Slay for the touchdown. But Mason Crosby missed the PAT Corey Linsley Jersey , to make him a -10 in a game the Packers trailed by 11 at the time. Ultimately, the Packers offense couldn’t get those critical plays when they needed them on offense or defense. A crucial possession after a Lions punt with under five minutes left ended in a 56-yard Mason Crosby missed field goal, but was set up by poor execution and penalties. The kick would have made it an eight point game, but a 56-yard field goal try isn’t what any good offense should want. In the end, the Packers outgained the Lions 521-265, out-possessed the ball, out-rushed them and out-threw them. Green Bay was the more efficient offense on a per-play basis, more first downs and more sacks. But 11 penalties for 107 yards and three turnovers, to go along with the special teams mistakes reveal a team playing too much undisciplined football. Given the slow starts the Packers have endured over the last few years, it’s fair to believe this team can right the ship and move forward. They were, after all, without Randall Cobb and Geronimo Allison. Rodgers still clearly isn’t right physically and didn’t have any reps to get on the same page with these rookie receivers. Once he found some rhythm with them in the second half, the offense got into gear. Rodgers finished with 442 yards and three touchdowns, the most yards ever in a regular season loss. Valdes-Scantling caught seven balls for 68 yards and a score, while fellow rookie St. Brown posted three catches for 89 yards. And despite facing All-Pro Darius Slay, Adams put up a monster nine-catch 140-yard day with a score of his own. This was the offense Rodgers was looking for Kenny Clark Jersey White , but again they settled for field goals (they missed) too often. If this was a Murphy’s Law game, the blame for these slows starts has to fall in the lap of head coach Mike McCarthy and there’s a Murphy whose word is now law in Green Bay. The Packers fell behind 10-0 to the Bears, 14-0 to Washington and 24-0 to the Lions thanks to an offense that looks outdated in the face of tremendous innovation around the league. They’re running a 2011 offense in a 2018 league, and in NFL years, that’s about 20 years behind. Slow starts, both in seasons and in games, have plagued this team going back to 2015 and if not for the Run The Table stretch in 2016, the questions about McCarthy’s job status may have been much louder much sooner. This type of effort, preparation and creativity (or lack thereof) simply isn’t acceptable for a team expecting to compete for a championship every year. If they don’t fix it in a hurry, the questions about McCarthy’s relationship with Rodgers will gave way to potential replacements, talk of Lincoln Riley and John DeFelippo. We’ve seen this team start slowly and wind up making a deep playoff run. This Packers team can still do that. After an offseason of building the deepest, most talented team in several years, there are no longer any excuses not to for McCarthy. As the weather turns colder, his seat will only grow warmer if this team doesn’t start looking championship caliber in a hurry.

ESTShareTweetShareShareWhat if Bruce Arians doesn’t fix the Buccaneers?Kim Klement-USA TODAY SportsScary thought, I know. But in all honesty... what happens if Bruce Arians isn’t able to turn around this team and right the ship? The Tampa Bay Buccaneers job was an interesting one if nothing else simply due to the terms of the position available. The general manager, Jason Licht, needs a fast turnaround. The owners for that matter, need a fast turnaround. Jason Licht needed an offensive minded coach to utilize the talent already here and build a scheme that Jameis Winston can succeed in. Add to it all that the fans are not going to continue to wait around for this team to figure it’s stuff out, these aren’t Browns fans after all. So the question at hand is simple, what happens if Bruce Arians can’t turn things around? Let’s take a quick look at what he needs to do to make magic happen in Tampa Bay. Scheme. All things considered, Bruce Arians scheme is a big factor as to why Jason Licht singled him out of the pack of head coaching candidates. Arians pushes the ball down the field and with the offensive weapons at receiver and tight end, this football should be able to do it. Along with scheme comes the fact that the head coach is having to rely on Jameis Winston who has struggled a bit with injuries, suspension and you know... turnovers. If Bruce Arians offense fails him, there’s a good chance the quarterback will hold a lions share of the blame. Speaking of scheme, Arians will have to prove to be a dynamite schemer given the voids at left tackle and right guard that face the team immediately. Running back isn’t all that shiny either and with a limited amount of money to spend, things won’t be easy to “reload” all that fast. Personnel. We’ve heard it non stop as an excuse for past coaching regimes and it won’t be any different early on for Bruce Arians. This team lacks talent both at starting positions and in the form of depth. With two offensive line positions needing a body and an upgrade at running back potentially being a priority... it’s scary to think that the same team may need upgrades at corner and on the interior and exterior pass rush wise. With the team strapped for money and rumors of Gerald McCoy’s days being numbered, freeing up space with his release ultimately opens up yet another hole to fill. If the team becomes a more predominantly odd numbered front scheme wise then there is reason to believe that edge rushers will also be of the utmost importance to add this off-season. Let’s not forget that the defensive backfield is suspect at best and will again rely on a very young group of corners and safeties to shoulder the load. Vernon Hargreaves III and Carlton Davis should surely benefit from an attacking defense such as the one Todd Bowles likes to run, but whose to know how Hargreaves III will bounce back, if at all, after a lost season due to injuries and poor coaching for his entire NFL career. Throw in the fact that the team still doesn’t have a solid kicking game from it’s punter or place kicker and the number of bodies that Licht and Arians are tasked with filling becomes quite scary for a fast turnaround that’s expected by fans and was already forecast by Arians. So what happens if Bruce Arians and his staff can’t turn this thing around and turn it around quick? The whole ship sinks. That’s what. The roster will be in shambles, the team will be looking for a new quarterback because if one thing is for sure it’s that Jameis Winston’s future, Arians future and Jason Lichts future’s are all interlocked for good now. If Bruce Arians doesn’t fix the Buccaneers then the team will continue to lose fans and be a seller dweller in the NFC South and NFL all together. If Bruce Arians doesn’t fix the Buccaneers it means his legacy and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers Legacy will forever holds stains that never needed to be fostered. Tampa Bay had a chance to wipe clean the Jameis Winston era, the Dirk Koetter era and/or the Jason Licht era and they chose to stand by Jameis Winston and Jason Licht.Bruce Arians affection for Winston won him the job, it won him the hearts of many fans that want to believe. It’s all on his shoulders now to help groom Jameis and this entire roster of players. It’s up to Arians, Bowles, Byron Leftwhich and Jason Licht to get this ship sailing in the right direction. But what if its again all for not? What if.

Not just because they were awful, but because they show up when you watch him play. Metcalf ran a 7.38 3-cone and a 4.5 short shuttle. For reference, Solomon Thomas ran a 6.95 3-cone. Deforest Buckner ran a short shuttle of 4.47. They do not play wide receiver. Metcalf is such an explosive athlete that he is able to create separation at the line of scrimmage. I’ve seen many point out the first play of Alabama, where he scored on a long touchdown. Context is key. The corner he beat was benched after that play. That same corner gave up 5 touchdowns all year, gave up 61% of passes his way, for a passer rating of 105 when targeted. He wasn’t very good. After that Metcalf disappeared. In 2017, Metcalf faced two quality corners from Bama and struggled. The same can be said this year against LSU’s Greedy Williams. Metcalf just couldn’t shake loose. You see that he is a linear athlete when he has to stop and start, or break down to change directions. He’s a big guy. That’s not too surprising. It is concerning, though. The last thing on Metcalf is what he was asked to do. Metcalf had zero catches in the slot. He lined up about 80% on the left side of the formation, seemingly. That might not seem like an issue, but previous players have had difficulty overcoming this. Former first round pick and now Arizona Cardinals WR Kevin White was like that coming out of West Virginia. When you consistently practice releasing only one way, or routes from one side, there’s a learning curve. With Metcalf, it was a deep route or a slant, with a curl route mixed in here and there. Against Williams and LSU, that was a perfect example of what the NFL will be like. You’re not going to be able to just run by everyone and score. Will there be opportunities to do so? Of course. They will be few and far between if Metcalf doesn’t add a little nuance to his route running. If you watch him run underneath routes, like a curl, there’s an extra hop in there. That’s where the shuttle drills show up. For this, and a double digit drop rate, I’d pass early in the first round. Good? Yes. I would only take a receiver in the first round if I felt like there were very few questions. This isn’t the case. Add in who is calling plays for the 49ers and no thanks.LB Josh Allen-KentuckyI am higher on Metcalf as a player than Allen, so Fred Warner Jersey , brace yourself. You never root against a kid, but this has bust written all over it. That’s not to say he doesn’t have value. Allen absolutely does. If you can get to the quarterback and get the offense off of the field, you can play in the NFL. Allen can do that. Here are my three biggest issues with Allen.Counter moveStrength at the point of attackInconsistencyAllen is fast, but he’s not explosive. Explosive players jar your helmet back when they get their hands on you. That’s not the case with Allen. With the 49ers, Allen would play on the strong side of the formation, opposite of Dee Ford. He is plenty quick enough to play on the line of scrimmage, as he will out athlete tackles and tight ends against the run. He can also win with speed around the edge. The issue is when that athleticism doesn’t work.Allen’s lack of counter moves are concerning. That’s why he’s a notch below the Bosa, Williams, and Brian Burns of this class. Too often during games you’ll see Allen get stuck rushing the passer. That’s generally the case when you don’t have a plan. I like judging guys when they go against top competition. He made Florida’s right tackle Jawaan Taylor look like peak Joe Staley. There wasn’t an answer for Taylor, who is a pretty good athlete himself.Because Allen will likely be playing on the line of scrimmage in this defense, you have to be concerned with his ability to set the edge or hold his ground at the point of attack. Again, athleticism will only get you so far if you are not refined in the NFL. You saw Taylor get give up the edge against the run, or get destroyed against double teams. These weren’t just a play here or there. It was consistent.Speaking of consistent, Allen lacks that. There are too many inconsistencies in Allen’s game for me to say he’s worthy of a top pick. The “dog” in him is inconsistent. Perhaps that’s him being unsure of what he’s doing. Whether that be dropping into coverage, or looping around on a stunt. There were too many plays where I felt like Allen didn’t finish the play. Let’s say there are 10 plays. On three of those, it’ll be a short yardage play and he will blow it up and look like a sure fire top pick. On the other seven he comes off as lackadaisical. I can’t co-sign that.Allen seems at his best when he can run and chase. He’s more linebacker than pure pass rusher. That’s not what you take in the top 15. Not unrefined pass rushers. There’s an argument to be made in his favor that on the Niners he’ll be the third rusher. That does have significance. With there likely to be better pass rushers available, or players in general, there’s no need to reach on Allen. Because of that, I’d be out on him.Is there a player that you want to avoid in the first round if the 49ers trade down?
PFF’s first 2019 NFL mock draft has 49ers looking wide receiver I know Jason Verrett Jersey , it’s only Week 4.I know, it’s probably too early for a mock draft.I know we’re all still reeling over the recent loss of Jimmy Garoppolo. If anything, let Pro Football Focus’ first 2019 NFL mock draft take your mind off the feeling of impending doom sweeping over you. There are several positions-of-need that the 49ers can effectively address in the 2019 NFL Draft — most notably at edge rusher. There is plenty of talent that can be found both near the beginning and the end of the first round, which is most likely the main reason why John Lynch and Kyle Shanahan decidedly skipped out on addressing this critical need in the 2018 NFL Draft. It’s interesting that they have San Francisco selecting Arizona State wide receiver N’Keal Harry with the 13th overall selection. Here’s what PFF had to say about the pick.If things transgressed as they do in PFF’s mock, it’d be more likely for the Niners to address their defensive needs before drafting a receiver. Dante Pettis has shown flashes so it wouldn’t make a ton of sense to spend a 1st round pick on a wide receiver unless there was Julio Jones-esque potential. The top five of PFF’s mock draft went as follows:1. New York Giants – Justin Herbert, QB, Oregon2. Buffalo Bills – Nick Bosa, Edge, Ohio State3. Cleveland Browns – Jeffery Simmons, DT, Mississippi State4. Arizona Cardinals – DeAndre Baker Dre Greenlaw Jersey , CB, Georgia5. Detroit Lions – Greedy Williams, CB, LSU With the offseason in full swing, all sorts of analyses on the San Francisco 49ers roster will be firing out. From the free agents to the rookies, there’s a lot to dissect from their 2018 season. NFL.com did their assessments of NFL rookies and gave the 49ers a ‘B’ grade. Writer Jeremy Bergman was put in charge of the NFC West and had this to say when he came to the 49ers: For comparison, the Arizona Cardinals did a bit better with a ‘B+’ grade, Seattle Seahawks got a generous ‘B-’ grade and the Los Angeles Rams got slapped with a ‘D-’ grade. If only the 49ers didn’t flub their first two picks in 2017, this could be back-to-back solid production from their rookie classes. Unfortunately, the jury is still out on if Solomon Thomas can be a long-term solution and Reuben Foster’s personal issues lead to him getting released after a season and a half. Both of them were taken in the first round and their current situations are less than ideal. Adrian Colbert left for injured reserve early in 2018 and Ahkello Witherspoon was a shadow of himself as well—which makes 2017’s class take another hit. The 49ers have overhauled their roster since John Lynch and Kyle Shanahan took over and 2018 might be a special draft class. 2017 got them George Kittle and that already did enough, but D.J. Jones is also set to take over the nose tackle spot from recently released Earl Mitchell. Don’t forget the 49ers found both Matt Breida and Nick Mullens as undrafted free agents. Also don’t forget about Trent Taylor who was held back in 2018 from his back surgery. 2017 might not be an earth-shattering rookie class Dre Greenlaw San Francisco 49ers Jersey , but they managed to find several pieces to build the team they want, which is a heck of a lot better than what prior drafts have netted the 49ers. The 2018 class has been productive on all fronts. First, second, and third round picks all have grown into possible starters.Aside from Kentavius Street who was sidelined with his knee injury and Jullian Taylor who spent most of his season on the sidelines developing, the 2018 class contributed on the field, on game day in some way shape or form. The big question for the running backs is what the three-headed beast will be with Raheem Mostert and Jeff Wilson Jr. Either direction, the 49ers will have Jerick McKinnon and Matt Breida along with one of those two aforementioned names. That would be one 3rd round pick (McKinnon) and two UDFAs (Breida, Mostert, and Wilson) helming the 49ers backfield.Sky’s the limit with this class. The 49ers might just need a few more pieces and the 2018 class just needs a bit more experience and maybe things can get turned around.
Watch every Michael Dickson punt against the Vikings Before the draft Germain Ifedi Jersey , most of Seahawks nation had never heard of Michael Dickson. But now, with punt after punt he’s attracting the attention of fans and analysts from all over the country. With the prime time spotlight, Dickson absolutely placed nearly perfect punt after perfect punt giving the defense as much room to work with as you could possibly ask for. We interrupt this punt-cast for a 55 yard Sebastian Janikowski bomb. Through the game Dickson placed his punts with insane accuracy, giving the defense 86.6 yards to work with per drive and an average distance of 53.6 yards in the air and 4.86 seconds hang time. If Dickson can hold onto this pace, he would be placing about 7 yards deeper than league average. Given our model from last time, this would translate to 2.8 point per game reduction in points allowed by the defense versus average. Dickson, already the highest graded punter of the preseason, certainly looks to be worth every bit of his fifth round selection. The special teams look special again.UPDATE:Dickson, aware he out kicked his coverage in the final minutes of the game had this to say: The Kansas City Chiefs are headed to Seattle this weekend to face the Seahawks on Sunday night football. The Chiefs need to win to assure they stay ahead of the LA Chargers in the AFC West and playoff picture, while the Seahawks could lock in their wild card berth, as long as Washington loses earlier in the day. (And even if they don’t, Seattle is virtually assured a spot if they beat KC.) The Chiefs are 11-3 this season and have the best offense in the NFL by almost every measure, but their defense has been notably bad, especially away from the home crowd. This season, the Chiefs have allowed 28 touchdowns on the road, the second-most in the NFL behind the 33 given up by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Of those 28, seven came in a 54-51 loss to the LA Rams. That includes four touchdown throws by Jared Goff, one touchdown run by Goff, and two defensive scores. Their next road game came in Oakland, where they gave up four offensive touchdowns to the Raiders, including three by Derek Carr. Overall, the Chiefs have outscored opponents 275-239 on the road, the second-most points allowed away from home.Working backwards, this is what Kansas City has done on the road:A 40-33 win over the 3-11 Raiders. At home, Oakland has lost by 20 to the Rams, beat the Hue Jackson Cleveland Browns in OT, 45-42, (lost to the Seahawks, but in London), lost by 14 points to the Indianapolis Colts, lost by 14 to the LA Chargers, and actually beat the Pittsburgh Steelers 27-24 the week after losing to the Chiefs. KC held a 33-16 lead going into the fourth quarter, but the Raiders cut it to 33-30 midway through the final period. An onside penalty extended KC’s ensuing drive, which allowed them to continue on and go up 40-30. It could have swung in a different direction. The 54-51 game in LA. While this was back and forth in the fourth quarter, the Chiefs really played from behind for most of the night. The Seahawks don’t have an offense like the Rams do though, so a shootout seems unlikely, but we can’t say for sure.A 37-21 win over the Browns. This was maybe KC’s best road game of the season. An otherwise surging Cleveland team saw Baker Mayfield and Nick Chubb contained, while the Browns’ defense didn’t have enough answers for Patrick Mahomes, Kareem Hunt, or Travis Kelce.A 43-40 loss to the New England Patriots. The Pats led 24-9 at half, then briefly lost the lead in the fourth quarter before 10 unanswered, then getting a game-winning field goal as time expired. Tom Brady was efficient, Sony Michel had 24 carries for 106 yards, Rob Gronkowski had 97 yards. A 27-23 win over the Denver Broncos. Despite Denver leading 23-13 in the fourth quarter David Moore Jersey , the Broncos lost after giving up two touchdowns in the final seven minutes. Phillip Lindsay and Royce Freeman combined for 136 yards on 20 carries, but don’t have a very capable offense en total with Case Keenum at quarterback so they couldn’t finish necessary drives at the end of the game. They went 3-and-out on the second-to-last drive, then had 1st-and-10 at the KC 28 but gained no yards from there and lost.A 42-37 win over the Pittsburgh Steelers. The Chiefs had a 21-0 lead but the game was tied by halftime. They built a 14-point lead again and came up with a big sack in the fourth quarter to force a punt soon after. The Steelers couldn’t stop the KC defense when they needed it and lost by five. And in Week 1, the Chiefs beat the Chargers 38-28. KC was up 31-12 at one point, so they had the game in the bag for most of it. Melvin Gordon and Austin Ekeler did have 20 carries for 103 yards and Gordon had 102 receiving yards while Ekeler had 87. That’s a combined 292 yards from LA’s backs. More on that:The Chiefs have the 32nd ranked run defense in the NFL by DVOA and are 32nd in yards per carry allowed. Overall, opposing teams have rushed for 1,777 yards and 17 touchdowns on 5.0 yards per carry against Kansas City, which seems notable at a time when most teams besides the Seahawks and Baltimore Ravens choose not to run. Here is what the Chiefs have done against teams ranked in the top 13 by rush DVOA (this cutoff point might be arbitrary, but I’m doing my best to just include all the “good” rushing teams they’ve faced and the Cincinnati Bengals are 13th):The Rams are 1st in rush DVOA and won that game 54-51. They rushed for just 76 yards that night, however, as there was no reason for Goff to stop passing. The Broncos are 5th in rush DVOA and the Chiefs have beaten them 27-23 and 30-23. Denver rushed for 159 yards in one game and 189 in the other. Overall, Denver kept it close despite a wide disparity in passing talent because they have a great defense and did enough on the ground. This is also why the Broncos will miss the playoffs and will still be searching for a QB in the offseason, putting them in a similar position to where they were in 2011 following the Tim Tebow thing. The Chargers are sixth in rush DVOA and they split the season series, losing 38-28 in Week 1 and winning 29-28 last Thursday. They rushed for 123 yards in the loss and 119 yards in the win, but were without both Gordon and Ekeler last week. It didn’t seem to matter.(The Seahawks are 7th in rush DVOA)The Patriots are 10th in rush DVOA and won 43-40.The Steelers are 11th in rush DVOA and lost 42-37.The Ravens are 12th in rush DVOA and lost 27-24 in OT. It’s worth noting the asterisk of Lamar Jackson: Baltimore has rushed for 1,152 yards in the last five games, the most rushing yards over a 5-game span by any team since at least 1980. The Ravens had a 24-17 lead with four minutes remaining and KC needed a 4th-and-9 conversion to get into position for the tying score with seconds on the clock. Jackson couldn’t pass Baltimore into field goal range and the Chiefs, after a missed field goal in regulation, pulled out a win in OT. The Bengals are 13th in rush DVOA and lost 45-10 with 65 rushing yards. Cincinnati is not a good team.Overall, it’s worth noting some potential clues for advantages to Seattle’s side this Sunday night. Specifically that when facing a top-10 rushing team on the road, the Chiefs are 3-2, and when facing a good rushing team at all, they,’re 5-3, but needed some magic to beat the Ravens. (No, I didn’t include the Bengals because ... they’re just so bad.) Look at teams like the Broncos and Ravens, who are similar to Seattle in rushing prowess and defensive quality but the Seahawks have Russell Wilson instead of Keenum and Jackson. That’s important. On one hand, Seattle is 6th in passing DVOA, compared to 22nd for Denver and 18th for Baltimore. On the other hand, Seattle is now just 19th on defense, compared to 2nd for the Ravens and 4th for the Broncos. The Seahawks defense hasn’t been as dominant without players like Earl Thomas and Richard Sherman, but they still have allowed the third-fewest points at home this season. At that point, it’s a balancing act of variables. The Chiefs defense is bad, but it’s even worse on the road. The Seahawks defense is average, but they’ve gotten the job done at home. The Chiefs have the best road passer rating in the NFL at 124.2.The Seahawks are allowing an average rating of 92.6 at home, but look at a few of the worst teams at home against the pass: Steelers are 32nd at 109.3, Raiders are 31st at 105.6, Rams are 29th at 104.7. All of those teams faced KC at home. Does that mean Pat is going to ruin Seattle’s home defense numbers or that Pat’s road passing numbers are inflated by playing those three defenses? That’s another answer we won’t have a clearer picture of until the game is played. The Seahawks are averaging 168.6 rushing yards per game at home, most in the NFL. The Chiefs have allowed 4.95 YPC and 10 rushing touchdowns in seven road games. But variables go way beyond statistics. D.J. Fluker is questionable and Jordan Simmons is out this week, potentially giving Seattle continued problems at right guard. How will they answer to KC defensive tackle Chris Jones, who has 14 sacks? How much does the return of safety Eric Berry, who made his 2018 debut last week, change the Chiefs defense? Will this be the Seahawks’ end-of-season statement game at home in primetime or will the result too closely mirror the 25-18 (more like 25-10 until the final minutes) loss to the Chargers at home?I expect the game to be close. A lot closer than it would be if it were in Kansas City.
The Bucs will not beat the Eagles if they play like they did against the Saints Believe me when I say this - I hate to be a wet blanket. But when it comes to the NFL Chris Conte Jersey , reality trumps optimism. The Bucs lit the league on fire Sunday. They were the largest underdog by an entire point. Hardly anyone (except Bucs Nation) expected them to win, but all of that was incinerated by five o’clock eastern time. What Tampa Bay did was incredible and it’s easy to get lost in the subsequent high that immediately follows a Week 1 victory against a division rival after a tumultuous offseason. That’s why it’s important to keep in mind who the Bucs play this weekend: the Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles.Don’t get it twisted, nothing is being taken away from Tampa Bay’s performance. It was the best offensive outing in franchise history. But if Tampa Bay plays like they did against New Orleans, they won’t beat the Eagles. I can already hear the pitchforks sharpening and I can smell the smoke from the torches. Before I am tarred, feathered, and dumped into the Bay, let me explain. When it comes to playing teams like the Eagles, there are two major components that must be recognized in order to beat them: executing the little things and executing said items at the most crucial juncture.Tampa Bay was unable to consistently complete either task on Sunday and it almost led to a comeback by the Saints. The Eagles showed during their ugly win on Thursday that they just know how to win - which is oftentimes the deadliest weapon in the NFL. “I think they’ve won seven games in a row,” Dirk Koetter said after practice. They’re a confident team, they’re a fast team, they’ve got a great front four, they’ve got an awesome O-line. There’s a lot of things to be worried about, so I can’t give you exact order.”Philadelphia won’t lose the game, they’ll make their opponent beat them. The Bucs defense was downright atrocious for the majority of the game Sunday. What’s more important is how bad Lavonte David and Kwon Alexander were at times. The Bucs need a lot more from Lavonte David on SundayDerick E. Hingle-USA TODAY SportsThey really struggled against the Saints in space, which is something the Eagles’ offense excels at. Philadelphia is the Walter White of getting their best, explosive players in space - nothing they do can be matched and it’s always primo stuff. David and Alexander allowed every ball thrown their way to be caught. They were targeted a combined 15 times and allowed 15 catches for 167 yards and a touchdown. That’s good for (11.13) yards per catch and eight first downs. Both players were graded at 61 or below in coverage and tackling, according to Pro Football Focus. The Eagles went after Atlanta’s linebackers. De’Vondre Campbell and Deion Jones saw mixed doses of Zach Ertz, Darren Sproles, and Nelson Agholor. All three Eagles were targeted a combined 11 times against Jones and Campbell - they caught six of those targets for about 30 yards. While that stat line isn’t going to terrify anyone, there is no reason to think that area won’t be the first spot of the field tested on Sunday against the Bucs and if they don’t improve their coverage on the second level, the Eagles will eat their lunch all day long. And don’t forget the fact that the Eagles have the best offensive line in the NFL, so it’s easy to see how important it will be for the Bucs to not only create pressure, but keep those hogs off of the linebackers so they can make plays. The defensive line, while it looked decent at times, couldn’t pressure Drew Brees consistently enough to force errant throws. The result was a league-leading 82.2% completion rate.Obviously, Nick Foles is no Brees, but he knows when to make the right throw and has dominated Tampa Bay in past meetings. If given time, he will light up this secondary. The Bucs recorded 13 pressures against Brees, which is a decent amount, but it’s nothing compared to the league-leading 20 pressures that the Patriots and Ravens produced over the weekend. Mike Smith loves to run off-man coverage, leaving cornerbacks off the line of scrimmage for up to 10 yards at times. Bleeding Green Nations’ Tyler Jackson broke down the Eagles’ offense against Atlanta and described how the Eagles had no issue playing patient against Atlanta’s Cover 3 Shell, which is what they’ll do against the Bucs as well. Combine the defensive scheme with the fact that the Bucs have lost Vernon Hargreaves III for the season and Brent Grimes is likely to miss his second straight game. The trio of Ryan Smith, Carlton Davis, and M.J. Stewart will get torched if Tampa Bay can’t rush Foles. And when it mattered most, when the defense needed a stop to seal the deal - they couldn’t get it done. After a stellar third quarter, the defense allowed 14 points, 10 first downs John Lynch Jersey , and 138 yards on 15 plays in the fourth quarter. If it weren’t for Fitzpatrick’s 3rd-and-11 scramble, then there is no reason to think that the Saints wouldn’t have rallied back. The Eagles will be a much tougher opponentBill Streicher-USA TODAY SportsThe Bucs allowed the Saints to score on 80% of their redzone trips while the Eagles scored on 67% of theirs. Tampa Bay only converted 50% of their trips inside the 20 while Atlanta was even worse at 20%. If the Bucs want a shot at the Eagles, those numbers have to improve across the board. For the offense, it’s not impossible, but you shouldn’t expect this type of performance every week. It’s just not sustainable unless this team plans on going down as the greatest offense in NFL history and the chances of that are slim to none. Where this team needs to improve on offense is their redzone scoring and their second half running game. As I mentioned earlier, the Bucs scored a touchdown on two of four trips inside the 20 against the Saints. The Eagles field a much better defense - especially in the redzone - and will make life that much harder for the Bucs.Philadelphia also looks to have corrected their redzone woes when running the ball inside the 20 from last season. Just check out Bleeding Green Nation’s Michael Kist’s superb breakdown of the Eagles’ offensive scheme against Atlanta and you’ll see why it’s so important that the Bucs convert inside the redzone. After rushing for 68 yards on 15 carries as a team in the first half, the Bucs managed a paltry 44 yards on 19 carries in the second half. It doesn’t matter if the team you’re playing against is expecting the run or not - you must execute in these scenarios. Think about this as well, 11 of those 44 yards came on Fitzpatrick’s third down conversion to ice the game. That has to change against Philadelphia. The Eagles’ defensive line will be a huge test for a Bucs’ offensive line that excelled in pass pro, but was very limited in the run game. The heat will test the depth in all trenches for both teams as the game wears on, so it will be crucial for Tampa Bay to execute efficiently on the ground. The Bucs can’t expect to win if they don’t put the game away when it matters, but the running game isn’t the only component that can aid in that area. Unfortunately for the Bucs, it’s a reoccurring issue that has haunted them the past half-decade.You guessed it, the kicking game. Chandler Catanzaro had the chance to keep heart attacks at a minimum in the Bay area, but failed miserably to do so as he missed a 44-yard field goal attempt late in the fourth quarter that would’ve given the Bucs a three-score lead and essentially end the game. Catanzaro must be better in the clutchDouglas DeFelice-USA TODAY SportsThe Saints took over and immediately drove down the field and scored a touchdown, then the subsequent two-point conversion to make it a one-score game. The saving grace for Tampa Bay was third down and no turnovers. The Bucs were 8/13 on the money down, which includes Fitzpatrick’s game-winning scramble. But excelling in those two areas alone won’t beat the Eagles on Sunday. It’s going to take an even better effort than what was witnessed against the Saints, as hard as that may be to believe. If the Bucs can improve in these areas, then there is a great shot at a 2-0 start on the season. Regardless of what happens, Sunday will be a great evaluator of how far this team has really come and where they will go. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are coming off their second straight complete game in which they played complimentary football and to no surprise, they are 2-0 in the last two weeks. The team currently sits at 5-7, and while the playoffs are still a long shot, if the Buccaneers win next weekend, they will be at most a game out of the sixth seed in the NFC. Of course, it won’t be an easy task as the New Orleans Saints are coming into town. The biggest turnaround in the last two games have been forcing turnovers and not turning the ball over. The Buccaneers are +5 combined in the last two games in that category. Jameis Winston is arguably playing the cleanest ball of his career in the last two and a half weeks and head coach Dirk Koetter was praising Winston today and his ability to make big time throws during his day after press conference. “When Jameis [Winston] stepped up, that’s something that Monk (Todd Monken) works with those guys all the time – Chris converted right away to scramble rules and that was it. That was a heck of a throw by Jameis.,” Koetter said. “That ball had a lot more juice on it than you might think. He had to throw it over the corner and back end zone and the safety was over there to the left. That ball had a lot on it, so that was a little tougher catch than it probably looked like.”Winston was also the Buccaneers leading rusher yesterday as he finished the game with five carries for 48 yards. He has been really effective the last two games at recognizing when plays break down and tucking it and running. Another thing he has improved on while doing that is protecting the football. Koetter commented today on Winston’s ability to scramble.“I think the key to those scrambles is that once you get through the traffic, how quickly you get your eyes back downfield. Then there a lot of moving part there’s because there’s always those guys chasing you,” Koetter said. “He’s gotten stripped from behind before, so he’s doing a lot better job of keeping two hands on the ball and then he’s keeping his eyes downfield and then very rarely now is he drifting and running sideways. He’s getting north and south and making quick decisions.”A few weeks ago, Koetter stated that many teams do not go to their backup quarterback simply because they don’t like them, but the Buccaneers don’t fall under that criteria. Cam Newton looked similar (4 interceptions) to how Jameis Winston did against the Cincinnati Bengals a few weeks back. Since then, Winston watched from the bench for a couple of weeks and seemed to have learned and Koetter just wants to see him progress forward. “I’m sure we’ll turn it over again at some point. I’m sure we haven’t seen the last of turnovers. You see what happened to Carolina yesterday. Cam Newton had been playing right at probably his MVP level from a couple years ago when he had four turnovers yesterday – could’ve had six. We had our hands on other balls. It’s fickle that way. I think as long as Jameis continues to make good decisions then he’s going to play good football. That’s really all we’re worried about, Dirk Koetter said.” Koetter was certainly extremely pleased with Winston on Monday afternoon and rightfully so. If Winston continues to play the way he is and the Buccaneers win some more football games, Koetter might just buy himself one more year in Tampa Bay.
Locked on Titans: Talking Titans value in 2018 fantasy football We have now entered the time of year where there will be very little information getting out about the team. Mike Vrabel has already said that he won’t give any information on injuries until he is required to on Wednesday of week 1. Practices are also now closed to the public http://www.thetitanslockerroom.com/authentic-harold-landry-jersey , and even the media only gets to see a limited portion. We are now officially in the dark. With all of that being said, Terry and spent last night’s Locked on Titans talking about Titans’ players and projecting their stats in the context of fantasy football. You can listen to the episode here.We came to the conclusion that there should be more fantasy relevant players on the Titans than in any year in recent memory. Last year Delanie Walker was the only consistent starter in fantasy leagues across the world. That won’t be the case this year. You can hear our full breakdown by clicking the link above. A good performance could shoot him into the top-64 conversation.Jelks recently spoke exclusively with MCM about the impression he hopes to leave on those in attendance in Mobile, the best offensive linemen he’s ever squared off with, and how he gains a competitive advantage pre-snap.JM: Where were you when you found out about your Senior Bowl invite and what was your initial reaction like?JJ: I had just gotten home from writing a final. My mom texted me telling me to call her as soon as I could. I thought maybe something bad had happened. I called her and she told me she had just found out that I got a Senior Bowl invite. She wanted to be the first one to tell me. I was just really happy. It’s an opportunity that not many people are lucky enough to get. It’s something I’d been striving for. Especially as a senior Taylor Lewan Jersey , you always think about playing in the Senior Bowl. This is the cream of the crop when it comes to the bowl games. I’m more than excited and I can’t wait for the time to come.JM: What’s the lasting impression you’re hoping to leave on the general managers and scouts in attendance?JJ: I wanna showcase the fact that I’m a dominant, physical player. I want them to come away with the impression that I can play for any team and in any scheme.JM: Tell me a little about your pass rush arsenal.JJ: It changes. I have a lot of stuff that I use depending on how we’re lined up. Sometimes I play inside because we’re in a nickel package. I’ve played nose tackle on occasion and I’m eating up blocks. That’s when I see double teams, even triple teams at times. If I’m playing outside linebacker, I love getting that one-on-one opportunity. I can keep contain as well. There’s a lot of different stuff I’m capable of doing. It depends on what my coaching staff needs from me. I have a lot of different weapons in my arsenal. My coaches have worked a lot with me on developing a diverse pass rush arsenal. I’ve been working on technique and getting my hands out and shooting them quicker. We’ve focused on my footwork as well. I’m playing outside and I might have to make sure I have this foot forward and the other one back. There’s so much that goes into it. I’m getting double teamed inside and I have to make sure I don’t get pushed around. It all depends.JM: How much of being a successful pass rusher is accomplished pre-snap?JJ: A lot of it. I would probably say 95% of it actually. If you’re going into a play and you’ve already given up on yourself pre-snap, maybe you’re tired and plan to take a play off, you’ve already killed that play. You might as well not even be on the field at that point. I like to take things one play at a time. It’s important to simplify it. It’s just one-on-one, me versus the guy across from me. All I have to do is get to the quarterback. I have a different mentality depending on what type of play it is. It’s important to always attack it with a physical mentality.JM: How do you counter if your initial move is stopped?JJ: It depends on what the read was. I like to base my moves off what they do and what he’s giving me. If I’m playing against an overaggressive linemen, somebody who shoots his hands quick, my move has to be quicker as well. It’s all about timing. I just have to make sure I’m taking what he’s giving me. I have to counter back and go inside or outside. It depends how he’s moving. It comes down to which kinda linemen I’m going up against. Some guys are good vertically but not horizontally and vice versa.JM: Who’s the best offensive lineman you’ve ever gone up against?JJ: Throughout my entire career?JM: Yes sir.JJ: I would probably have to say Jake Fisher. He was still at Oregon while I was red-shirting. Going up against him and some of the other guys on the team such as Hamani Stevens, Hroniss Grasu and Tyler Johnstone really helped me mature as a player. That was probably one of the toughest offensive lines I’ve ever gone up against. We even had Tyrell Crosby as a freshmen that year. That was a tough line.JM: Is there an NFL quarterback you’re looking forward to sacking one day?JJ: I’ve always wanted to sack Tom Brady. He’s just a great quarterback. Sacking Aaron Rodgers would be pretty cool as well. I’ve always wanted to sack Rodgers. It would make for a cool picture frame somewhere on my wall (laughs).JM: You’ve had a lot of great teammates throughout your time at Oregon. If you were going to war tomorrow and could only bring one with you, who would you bring and why?JJ: One teammate? Man, that’s tough. I’d probably have to go with Royce Freeman Jurrell Casey Jersey White , Taj Griffin or DeForest Buckner. It would definitely be one of those three guys. Taj is so fast, he can probably make sure we get away from anybody. DeForest and Arik Armstead for that matter are so big and tough that nobody in their right minds wanna go up against those guys. I respect Royce so much, I know he’d be out there running dudes over like he’s doing in the NFL right now (laughs). Royce is dumb big, dumb fast. That’s how I’ve always described him. He’s so athletic, I believe he could play on both sides of the ball if he wanted to.JM: Tell me about Justin Herbert as a man and as a leader.JJ: Justin is a big, goofy guy. People don’t always realize that about him. When it’s time to get serious on the field though, he’s who I want in my corner. He takes things really seriously when he has too, but he knows how to have fun. He’s a great student as well. He’s a big joker off the field. We had a lot of fun together at the Pac-12 media day. I love hanging around Herbert. He’s such a good dude. He’s so energetic on the field. He has such a positive impact on everyone around him. He turns into a different animal when he hits the field.JM: What has the opportunity to represent Oregon meant to you?JJ: It’s meant everything to me. I’ve met so many amazing people along the way. This truly is a special, unique program. I’ve been blessed to be apart of it. Regardless of what’s gone on with the coaches over the last couple of years, I’ve loved my time here. This has always been a place of equal opportunity.JM: I’ve appreciated your time today, Jalen. What can fans expect from you going forward?JJ: I’m still gonna be an Oregon Duck no matter which NFL team I get drafted by. I’m gonna come back to Eugene and support the guys with every chance I get. I’ll always be a Duck. Go Ducks!
It was a gut punch for the 49ers when quarterback Jimmy Garappolo tore his ACL in Week Three. For 49ers Jed York Womens Roger Craig Jersey , the pain was real, but in a different place.Via Jennifer Lee Chan of , York said that he was so distraught when Garoppolo went down against the Chiefs that he punched a nearby wall.Like the rest of their season Ronnie Lott Jersey , it landed in the wrong spot.“I’m glad I wasn’t on IR,” York said. “I was close in Kansas City. I thought I broke my wrist in Kansas City when I heard he tore his ACL. . . .“It was a good punch. Unfortunately, it was a stud. You’ve got to find the dry wall. That’s the key. It looks so much better to put a hole through the wall Y.A. The Titans will need an offensive coordinator."WhiteFanposts Fanshots Sections Tennessee Titans PodcastReport: Packers to hire Titans’ offensive coordinator Matt LaFleur as head coachNew Tajae Sharpe Jersey ,426commentsThe Titans will need an offensive coordinator.CSTShareTweetShareShareReport: Packers to hire Titans’ offensive coordinator Matt LaFleur as head coachChristopher Hanewinckel-USA TODAY SportsAfter just one season in Nashville, Matt LaFleur is heading north to become the next head coach of the Green Bay Packers, according to multiple reports. ESPN had it first. This is without a doubt Green Bay’s attempt to find the next Sean McVay, as several organizations have tried to do this offseason. However, the numbers certainly weren’t there for the Titans in year one. Tennessee ranked just 25th in total offense in 2018. To be fair, LaFleur dealt with several huge blows to the offense, including losing tight end Delanie Walker in week one. Marcus Mariota’s growth in the offense was stunted by a week one nerve injury that seemed to have lingering effects throughout the season. To make matters worse, Rishard Matthews quit the team in the first month of the season. LaFleur wasn’t exactly dealt a great hand in Nashville, but this is still a total leap of faith for the Packers. It’s a great deal for LaFleur though, who will now get to work with Aaron Rodgers. For the Titans, it’s going to be Marcus Mariota’s fourth offensive coordinator in five seasons. If you’re wondering why Mariota hasn’t developed into a big time NFL passer Quinton Spain Jersey , you can probably start with that fact. Let the offensive coordinator search begin. NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — Anthony Firkser could be working in banking or finance, maybe even on Wall Street with the applied mathematics degree earned at Harvard.Luckily for the Titans, the converted wide receiver is playing tight end in Tennessee.“He just makes it easy for us to throw it to him,” Titans quarterback Marcus Mariota said of Firkser. “Whether that’s creating separation, using his body to make a couple tough catches. I think he’s done a great job in just being friendly for us as quarterbacks.”Firkser has caught every pass thrown to him, an unexpected but welcomed stat for the Titans (7-6). Tennessee lost three-time Pro Bowl tight end Delanie Walker in the season opener to a broken right ankle and a second starter when a knee injury forced Jonnu Smith to go on injured reserve. The Titans also have veteran Luke Stocker and MyCole Pruitt while adding tight end Cole Wick earlier this week. Firkser is the tight end in line for more work starting Sunday when they visit the New York Giants (5-8) thanks to his production already.“They’ve all gotten better and tried to find a little niche in our offense,” coach Mike Vrabel. “With that being said, MyCole is going to get more opportunity. Firkser is going to get more opportunity. What do I like about Firkser? I would say that when you throw the guy the ball, he usually catches it. Hopefully, he gets more opportunities to do that and work him into the run game.Firkser already ranked second on the Titans for most catches among tight ends this season Taylor Lewan Jersey , but he’s also one of only two tight ends in the NFL this season with at least 15 targets to catch every pass thrown at him. Firkser has 16 catches for 201 yards and a touchdown, and Ravens tight end Maxx Williams has caught all 15 passes thrown to him.“You can see the confidence building in him, so we’ve just got to continue to find ways to get him the football,” Mariota said. “I think he’s done a good job for us. He’s made a couple big plays in critical situations, and from there I think he’s got what it takes to help us out.”A native of Manalapan, New Jersey, the 6-foot-2, 246-pound Firkser signed with the Jets as an undrafted free agent in May 2017 only to be released at the end of the preseason. He sat at home for nearly three months until the Chiefs signed him to their practice squad at the end of November, and they signed him to a futures contract in January only to cut him April 30.Firkser came to Tennessee for a rookie tryout minicamp, and the Titans signed him May 14. He started the season on the active roster for two weeks before being cut, then was signed to the practice squad a day later. The Titans signed him back to the active roster Oct. 9 Brian Orakpo Jersey , and all his production has come in the last eight games.“We know Anthony’s strong suit is as a receiver, and he’s been working all year,” Titans tight ends coach Arthur Smith said. “He’s a very willing blocker. Same thing, we’ve got to make sure we put him in the right spots to play to his strengths.”He even caught his first career touchdown pass just before halftime to help start the Titans’ rally from a 16-point deficit in beating the New York Jets.Playing in the NFL may have been a dream when Firkser was a child. Playing in the Ivy League and competing in the Harvard classroom kept Firkser more focused on academics. Then he started hearing from NFL teams, keeping him away from the business world for now.“I’m thankful and grateful for the opportunity that I’ve gotten here and just doing my best to keep contributing,” Firkser said.Notes: OT Dennis Kelly, who is expected to replace Jack Conklin at right tackle, practiced Thursday after missing Wednesday for a personal matter. LB Brian Orakpo (elbow) missed a second straight practice, while WR Tajae Sharpe (ankle) did not practice after being limited Wednesday.

The first edition of 2019’s journey into the unpredictable world of predictive drafting."Mock drafts are fun. They show us what could be and what is. It’s an exercise in evaluating the state of a franchise while judging the future of abilities of student-athletes turned professional ball players to grant the wishes of fans world-wide.It’s also a fun little exercise in psychology. What is it that makes an individual respond so rabidly to what can only be categorized as a work of fiction in it’s truest form. Education levels have been insulted, future’s threatened, follower counts on social media rise and fall daily with the visceral reactions of (insert team name here) fans.Still. It’s fun. For me. I use them as a progress tool. See, right now, your favorite NFL team’s roster is almost exactly what it was at the end of the season as far as how it looks heading towards next season.Yes, there’s been the occasional trading of a quarterback or releasing of a cornerback here and there. But, except for those few facts, your roster is as it should be.As for the prospects. Well, this is a different story. Raise your hand if you heard of Nasir Adderley before the Senior Bowl. To those who raised their hands, you are the real MVPs of the draft world. Also, I hope you were in a really awkward place to suddenly raise your hand seemingly for no reason at all. Ya big weirdo.Anyway. Some of your favorite draft experts are likely on version five or six or even more by now. I’m on version one. And I waited for one specific reason. We’re about to enter the NFL Scouting Combine. After this, there will be little else a college player can do to publicly increase or decrease their draft stock. Pro Days are coming, and private workouts. Even some podcast, radio and television interviews. But for the most part, the combine and their game film will be the main tools used to measure their worth as a football player. So, before we get to it next week in Indianapolis Donovan Smith Jersey White , I wanted to put on record just how I perceive this first round going. Then, when it’s all said and done, and we’ve all packed up from Lucas Oil Stadium to head home I’ll do another to see how the combine impacted my outlook on the future. To be clear. This is a look at what I think each team ‘should’ do, followed by a brief synopsis of why. If you’ve visited as a member of a different fan base, I welcome you and I look forward to comments telling me about my lack of knowledge of your favorite team.If you’re a Bucs fan, well then, prepare to celebrate - or not - and tell me everything you think about my pick(s) and what it says about me as a husband, father and person in general. You know the drill.I’ll be surprised if any of you actually read all of those words leading to this part. So, let’s get to it.PICKS 1-4If the first four picks go the way I and many others feel it may, there’s going to be a quickly depleting pool of defenders going early. Here, Arizona gets a young lineman in Quinnen Williams who can roll in their renewed dedication to a 3-4 base defense and be equally as impactful for when they move him inside on four man fronts.San Francisco 49ers fans will probably feel like they got away with something seeing Nick Bosa fall into their laps while the Jets get one of the Top-2 edge rushers in this class by selecting Josh Allen. CBS broadcasters anxiously await the opportunity to comment on how Josh Allen sacked Josh Allen because Josh Allen was great while Josh Allen simultaneously didn’t execute his roll effectively. Fun for the entire family.Meanwhile, coach Jon Gruden gets his Khalil Mack replacement. Spoiler alert, Gary is good, but he’s not Mack.PICK 5 - TAMPA BAY BUCCANEERS: LB, DEVIN WHITE (LSU)Photo by Christian Petersen/Getty ImagesCurrently, the Bucs have Lavonte David, Kendell Beckwith, Riley Bullough and a few other linebackers who have never really served a significant roll for this or any other NFL franchise. If the team is moving to a 3-4 base defense it’s not going to matter that they won’t be in base all the time. They need more linebackers. Having more than one they know can impact a game significantly would be nice.Hopefully Beckwith comes back from his season-costing ankle injury suffered last off-season. Hopefully Kwon Alexander comes back from his ACL and suits up for the Bucs once again. But it’s entirely possible neither of those things will happen. Which means Devin White is the right guy to pick for this situation. If Alexander and Beckwith both return, and return to form http://www.buccaneerslockerroom.com/authentic-ryan-smith-jersey , then Tampa Bay will have one of the most dangerous linebacker groups around.Which is good, seeing as how they want four starters at the position.PICKS 6-10I know quarterback is a popular position pick for the sixth spot, but I can’t agree with it. Not with this team and this class.Manning is getting one more trip around the sun to try and put it together, and he’s getting a nice offensive tackle to help in the mission. If it still doesn’t pan out, next year’s class is likely to be better or at least the same.Jacksonville on the other hand, has to get a quarterback this year, and Haskins is the most plug and play of the group as of right now.Detroit, Buffalo and Denver all get better in key areas as the Lions bolster their pass rush while the Bills’ Allen gets a nice target in D.K. Metcalf and Greedy Williams goes to Mile-High to reinvigorate a declining Broncos defense.PICKS 11-15I feel like the Bengals are going to look at quarterbacks more than most realize, but ultimately I think they go with offensive line help instead. Green Bay follows suit in order to take advantage of a relatively deep defensive class later in the draft. For Miami, Kyler Murray is about the most Dolphins thing they could do, and it should at least put some butts in seats while the team figures out what to do around him.Atlanta getting Ed Oliver will make nobody in the NFC South happy. But it’s just too good a fit not to happen. With Alex Smith done for a long time, the Redskins need a quarterback. Hard to imagine this team is going from Kirk Cousins’ ‘You like that!’ moment to Drew Lock in such a short time span. Yet, here we are.PICKS 16-20Carolina is far from perfect on offense, but they’re better there than on defense. They brought in Julius Peppers to help out, and he’s riding into the sunset. Jachai Polite will help them secure an edge presence for years. If the Cleveland Browns don’t continue to build around Baker Mayfield I’d be surprised. Marquise Brown won’t work out at the combine, but it doesn’t mean he won’t be ready for camp and the 2019 season. This offense will be electric.I was really tempted to give the Vikings a tight end here, but instead I think they roll forward with Rudolph and a later draft pick and bring in Garrett Bradbury in the meantime to give Cousins more time in the pocket.Brian Burns to the Titans was an easy pick, and Mike Vrabel is going to love having this Seminole on his team. Finally, the Steelers draft another cornerback. It feels like all they do is draft first-round cornerbacks these days.PICKS 21-25Legion of Boom 2.0 is underway with the drafting of Deionte Thompson by Seattle Womens Deone Bucannon Jersey , while the Baltimore Ravens tool up for Lamar Jackson’s first year as the full-time starter after shipping Joe Flacco to Denver. For the Houston Texans, keeping Deshaun Watson clean and comfortable has to be their primary objective. Even if they lose some key defensive pieces, they’ll have the remaining pieces to keep it together.Gruden gets the best running back in the draft for his new look Raiders and the Eagles bolster their defensive front by bringing Clemson’s Christian Wilkins to Philly.PICKS 26-32Rounding out the first round on this first mock of the year, Andrew Luck gets a nice big target to use opposite of T.Y. Hilton. Given the growth of the Colts’ defense in 2018, giving the offense another weapon makes sense.I don’t know if there are any cornerbacks in Oakland coach Gruden likes - let alone loves. He’ll look to bring his own caliber of secondary to the franchise by drafting DeAndre Baker with his third first-round pick of the year.Jeffery Simmons’ injury is going to drop him down some boards, and quite possibly out of the first round. However, if there’s a team who might take a first round flier on him, it’d be the Chargers. They have a solid defense as is, and depending on how they feel he is medically the future returns of such a dynamic player might just warrant the early investment.Kansas City needs help on defense and they need it now. Montez Sweat isn’t the most polished prospect, but what he does he does really well. After going offensive with their first pick of the draft, Green Bay addresses the defense by selecting Nasir Adderley out of Delaware. They’ll address pass rushers later. If the Los Angeles Rams are going to get back to the Super Bowl they’ll need more than just a linebacker, but Mack Wilson is the best player available and given all the money coming up in extensions for their defense it’ll be nice to have a solid contributor on a rookie deal. Finally, the Super Bowl champs are up, and with Rob Gronkowski retiring drafting T.J. Hockenson as his replacement will help keep Tom Brady on top of the league until who knows when. That’ll do it for my first mock of the year. I’ll be back soon with a complete Bucs draft and more versions of both as we continue to sift through the news, rumors, tape, measurables and immeasurables.*Mock draft constructed using The Draft Network’s ‘Mock Draft Machine’.
The conversation takes place throughout the week inside the Seattle Seahawks training facility. A group of four or five throwing out suggestions and discussing whether their idea can actually be executed.By the time Friday rolls around Shaquem Griffin Jersey , a final decision has been made and the group spends part of the day seeing if they can pull off the plan successfully if the opportunity presents itself on game day."They're actually a group effort. We all put our two cents in and come up with something," Seattle wide receiver David Moore said. "(We'll) come up with something, 'Hey we can throw this in, maybe this will look good,' and then there you go."The talk isn't about a play or scheme. Instead, it's about what has become a must-see event anytime the Seahawks wide receivers find the end zone. Their touchdown celebrations have drawn attention around the NFL and set a standard they're trying to top each week."At first, it was all just about having fun, right? ... It has become an expectation," wide receiver Doug Baldwin said. "Now everybody's asking us what's coming up next, but first and foremost we've got to score so let's take care of the football aspect of it first and then just have fun if it comes along."The group of receivers 鈥?Baldwin, Moore, Jaron Brown and Tyler Lockett primarily 鈥?may not come close to leading the league in catches because of Seattle's run-first offense. But when any of the four find the end zone, getting past the goal line is just the beginning. It started in London when the Seahawks beat Oakland and Brown caught a touchdown on Seattle's opening drive. Brown at first briefly celebrated by himself before being joined by Baldwin, Lockett and Moore with an ode to "Drumline" and a fight scene from the movie that was released in 2002.Two weeks later after Lockett caught a TD in Detroit, it was an ode to baseball , the World Series and Nolan Ryan when Baldwin, the hitter, charged Lockett, the pitcher, and was knocked out in the process.Against the Chargers, it was "The Four Heartbeats ," which was a tribute to the 1991 movie "The Five Heartbeats." Each wide receiver showed off a bit of his dance moves and Brown 鈥?who caught the touchdown 鈥?ended up getting the "featured" role at the end of the routine. It's the celebration most say was the best."I told them from the jump, 'Yeah that's not going to work.' Because you have to be on beat with that and you all aren't going to hear each other," running back Mike Davis said. "It actually looked good. I was surprised by that."And last week in the victory over the Packers, tight end Nick Vannett was added to the mix following Baldwin's TD catch. The celebration this time : "Swag Surfin'.""I don't think it went as well as we wanted it to," Baldwin said. There was supposed to be one more celebration thrown into the recent mix, but as Baldwin said, "Tyler screwed it up." After Lockett's 23-yard touchdown reception against the Los Angeles Rams on Nov. 11, there was supposed to be another group performance. But before everyone could gather, Lockett handed the ball to boxer Floyd Mayweather Jr., who was in an end zone suite. That celebration was supposed to be specific to the Rams game and was not carried over to the following week. It's another sign of how serious and how much fun this group is having. And no, it's not taking away from their preparation for what's important 鈥?the actual game 鈥?including this week's matchup against Carolina that has major NFC playoff implications."It's minutes Michael Dickson Jersey , but obviously you guys know when we focus in on something, we get focused in on something so it doesn't take us too long to get it down," Baldwin said. Back in a time where being a coach for the Seattle Seahawks under Pete Carroll used to mean something, Ken Norton, Jr. was hired away by Jack Del Rio to be the defensive coordinator for the Oakland Raiders in 2015. Norton had spent 11 years with Carroll, including the previous five for the Seahawks as linebackers coach under Gus Bradley and Dan Quinn, with back-to-back Super Bowl appearances. When Quinn left after Seattle’s second straight season of winning the conference, Carroll hired Kris Richard to take over as defensive coordinator, while Norton went to the Raiders. The two assistants saw their paths take different directions from that point forward, but now as things have come full circle, Norton suddenly looks to be “ahead” of his longtime colleague with USC and the Seahawks. But really isn’t just about timing and talent?Oakland went 3-13 and finished 32nd in points allowed in 2014, which is why they fired Dennis Allen (and replacement Tony Sparano), and hired Del Rio. That’s where Norton came in and he helped the Raiders improve to 22nd in points allowed, with 16 more sacks than they had the year before, and a notably better pass defense. All because of Norton, right?Probably a lot more to do with second-year linebacker Khalil Mack actually, who went from three sacks to 15. And as we’ve seen, Mack doesn’t need a certain coach in order to be productive. Not that the Raiders had a super talented defense (Charles Woodson, Aldon Smith, Malcolm Smith, David Amerson, Dan Williams, Mario Edwards), but they also weren’t super good. They were just a little better. Then they weren’t.Then in September of 2016, Del Rio reportedly took playcalling away from Norton following a terrible start to the season by the defense; they gave up over 1,000 yards over the first two games. They stopped giving up 500 yards per game, but the Oakland defense was still among the worst in the NFL, even after adding Bruce Irvin and Reggie Nelson, probably because many other starters were still very bad. The Raiders finished dead last in net yards per pass attempt allowed. They did go 12-4, but lost badly in the first round of the playoffs. Maybe it’s a different story if not for Derek Carr’s broken leg, but the defense still stood no shot of helping them through that gauntlet. After a 4-6 start last season, Oakland fired Norton Alex McGough Jersey , severing ties completely. They had forced just five turnovers in 10 games. He hit the open market as a coach who wasn’t good enough to even improve the Oakland Raiders defense. Not a good place to be in.Luckily enough, Carroll didn’t care about any of his Oakland issues. He knew Norton for over a decade and he knew that he had the talent for a good defense. Isn’t that really the majority of what you need?Richard had the Seahawks back at their number one ranking for scoring defense in 2015, getting through a bad wild card game in Minnesota before losing on the road to the Carolina Panthers; they gave up 31 first half points to the Panthers but a significant problem that day was incompetence by the offense and then Seattle shut Carolina down in the second half. The Seahawks were third in points allowed in 2016, including first in yards per carry allowed. Quarterbacks had a rating of just 85 against Seattle, with only 16 touchdown passes. The Seahawks held the Detroit Lions to six in a wild card win, but again lost badly on the road in the divisional round.Things finally took a downward turn in 2017, with Seattle finishing 13th in points allowed and surrendering 30+ five times. However, there was a significant change that year: No Cliff Avril for 12 games, no Richard Sherman or Kam Chancellor for seven, Earl Thomas missed two games and was recovering from a broken leg, K.J. Wright was out for the defense’s worst game in years. It was a lack of talent.Carroll decided to shake things up — this is more the cause for Richard’s firing than anything, I believe — and found his old friend on the coaching free agent market. Now where are the Seahawks, Richard, and Norton?Well, somewhat quietly Norton has certainly raised his stock, hasn’t he? Seattle is ninth in points allowed, seventh in yards allowed, fourth in net yards per pass attempt allowed, and has a top-10 ranking in DVOA again. What’s the difference between the 2018 Seahawks and all of his Raiders defenses that weren’t as good? Well, Oakland had Mack, and Seattle has had an actual defense. That obviously changes now with the injury to Thomas. And if the Seahawks’ pass defense gets worse week-to-week, we’ll know why. If Norton’s resume goes from “coached a top-10 defense” to “helped sink a top-10 defense,” it’ll be because he didn’t have as much talent to end the year as he did to start it. Norton may be a great coach — whatever that even means — but coaches are only as good as the talent that they can put on the field. Bill Belichick is famous for overturning players-not-named-Brady all the time, but less talked about is the decade he’s spent with Devin McCourty and Patrick Chung as his safeties. If the players work, they work. If they don’t, you’re out of a job.Richard is drawing praise for his work with the Dallas Cowboys secondary as an assistant there now, including the Pro Bowl-caliber season for Byron Jones at cornerback. Certainly Richard’s knowledge has something to do with that, but it would be for nothing if Jones wasn’t one an extremely special athlete with the capacity to play at this level. And eventually, Richard will get another chance as a defensive coordinator too, perhaps leading to a head coaching opportunity. His best way back there will be to continue to follow the talent.
A roundtable with instant reactions"You’re going to hear plenty of analysis about the San Francisco 49ers first-round selection Nick Bosa over the coming days. How about some instant reactions from the NN staff? Here’s our take on the newest 49er.KyleThe 49ers had a big need at edge rusher. It’s tough to find a better fit than Bosa. He’s the best pass rusher in the draft http://www.49erslockerroom.com/authentic-ahkello-witherspoon-jersey , and it’s not really close. The Niners struggled mightily to get after the QB. That is Bosa’s speciality. He should be able to come in and produce right away. I think it’s important to understand that Bosa makes everyone around him better. Deforest Buckner is better because of this. Dee Ford is bette because of this. Solomon Thomas gets better. That’s before we even get to the secondary.PatBack in December, I said the 49ers had a shot at this guy given the Cardinals needs. When healthy, Bosa has the potential to transform this defensive line. We are talking about one of the best lines in football in one or two year. The big x-factor is Solomon Thomas. If he can take his next step, you have Dee Ford, DeForest Buckner, Thomas, and Bosa running a pass rush? Yikes. The decision was easy, but Quinnen Williams was very very tempting. The secondary can benefit from this as well. A quicker pass rush means more erratic throws, which means interceptions and dangerous passes. Part of the 49ers issues last year was the lethargic pass rush, which again has been vetted with Nick Bosa. The health issues do concern me, but hopefully the 49ers new and improved strength and conditioning unit has vetted this extensively. When healthy, the ceiling of this defensive line is nothing short of jaw-dropping. It’s a good day to be a 49ers fan. RobNick Bosa was the easiest pick John Lynch has made in his three years as the 49ers’ general manager. Bosa is the most complete pass rusher in the draft and the need aligned perfectly with the value for San Francisco. If his injury concerns are behind him, the 49ers should’ve just drafted a blue-chip pass rusher with yearly Pro Bowl potential.FoochIt’s pretty clear how I feel about his personal beliefs. From a purely football perspective Mike Person Jersey White , however, there’s not a lot to dislike about Bosa. He’s the kind of edge rusher the 49ers have lacked since they released Aldon Smith. There is no sure thing in the draft, but he has the production, pedigree, and physical tools to be the next great Niner pass rusher. If he does not pan out, nobody will fault the 49ers for the football side of this decision (well, almost nobody). The core muscle injury that cut short his final season at Ohio State left some folks concerned, but once the injury happened, it made all the sense in the world for him to shut it down and focus on the NFL Draft. Injuries are a concern for anybody in the NFL, but it doesn’t bother me.Alex EisenNick Bosa has been at the very top of most draft boards including mine. For the longest time the San Francisco 49ers have been searching for help in the pass rushing department. In a pass friendly league you have to be able to create pressure and get to the quarterback. The 49ers did what they had to do this off season, first trading for Dee Ford, then selecting Nick Bosa with the second overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft. As I mentioned in previous mock drafts and scouting reports, Nick Bosa was a no brainer pick for the 49ers. He is a perfect scheme fit Womens Y.A. Tittle Jersey , and a week one starter. I am excited to see what the 49ers defensive line will produce with the likes of Bosa, Dee Ford, DeForest Buckner, and Arik Armstead. Bosa instantly improves the defense, not only along the defensive line, but in the secondary as well. The injuries are a bit concerning, however the talent and production more than make up for this. Injuries are unpredictable and are part of the game. They can happen to anyone at anytime. Let’s hope for a healthy season for our ENTIRE roster! The 49ers get an A+ with this selection. Josh EcclesSan Francisco, as we all know, have lacked a serious threat at pass rusher for about 5 seasons now. With the selection of Nick Bosa it just about shores up the defensive line - which now boasts newly-acquired free agent Dee Ford along with Arik Armstead, Solomon Thomas, and perennial DPOY-candidate Deforest Buckner. The 49ers entered the offseason with zero firepower at EDGE and now have 2 clear-cut get-to-the-quarterback-at-will players who will, with their skillset, make the rest of the defense look better.Matt Breida ankle MRI comes back negative Fooch’s update: Kyle Shanahan announced that Breida is doubtful for Week 6 vs. the Green Bay Packers. The San Francisco 49ers dodged a bullet in Week 5. Running back Matt Breida suffered an ankle injury that looked bad Mike McGlinchey Jersey White , but fortunately is not a long-term injury. X-rays came back negative on Sunday, and an MRI came back negative on Monday, according to NBC Sports Bay Area reporter Matt Maiocco.Breida suffered the injury when Budda Baker fell on his ankle during a tackle attempt. The running back seemed to be in a lot of pain and needed help limping off the field. The trainers put tape on his ankle but he went back to the locker room and did not return. NFL Network reporter Ian Rapoport reported on Sunday that it was not a serious ankle injury, and Breida seemed to think the same. The x-ray revealed no break, and the MRI revealed no significant ligament damage. A high ankle sprain involves ligament damage and can result in an absence of several weeks. Not having that damage could result in a relatively limited absence. As Maiocco said in his tweet, he has proven to be a quick healer amidst several injuries the past few weeks. The 49ers travel to face the Green Bay Packers on Monday Night Football in Week 6, so they have an extra day of rest for the players. My guess is Breida sits out the game, but like Maiocco said, he’s proven to be a quick healer. The 49ers return to practice Thursday, so we’ll see what the injury report brings.
