Some of those coaching changes have been previously reported http://www.eagleslockerroom.com/authentic-malik-jackson-jersey , including the promotions of defensive line coach Phillip Daniels and wide receivers coach Carson Walch to those positions. The team also announced that the staff will include assistant tight ends coach Mike Bartrum, assistant wide receivers coach Matthew Harper, assistant offensive line coach Roy Istvan Womens Timmy Jernigan Jersey , assistant running backs coach T.J. They also hired former Dolphins and Lions offensive line coach Jeremiah Washburn as an advanced projects coordinator. The Saints turned what was looking like a blowout into what could become a classic. The Eagles still lead 14-10 at halftime of the divisional round game http://www.eagleslockerroom.com/authentic-carson-wentz-jersey , but the Saints have scored 10 unanswered points after a fake punt breathed some life into the team and the home crowd.Drew Brees recovered from a disastrous start (deep interception on the first play) to get the Saints into some kind of rhythm by the end of the half. But he might not have had the opportunity without quarterback Taysom Hill.Hill’s conversion of a fake punt was the moment when things began to turn around for the Saints, and Brees was 11-of-13 for 141 yards and a touchdown in the second quarter. The Eagles slowed down after their torrid start, and the Saints run coincided with the absence of Eagles defensive tackle Fletcher Cox. But Cox came back just before the half Womens Isaac Seumalo Jersey , and appears able to finish this one.
Bouye against Philadelphia in London on Sunday. The Jaguars (3-4) ruled Bouye out Thursday http://www.thejaguarslockerroom.com/authentic-keelan-cole-jersey , saying he did not make the overseas trip. The team also will be without backup cornerback Tyler Patmon because of a neck injury. Patmon also remained in Jacksonville.Cornerback D.J. Hayden (toe) made the flight, but he’s unlikely to play because of a lingering toe injury. Hayden has missed five consecutive games and hasn’t practiced since Sept. 21.Bouye missed practice Thursday after sustaining a calf injury in drills the day before.Without them, the Jaguars will have three undrafted rookie cornerbacks to play alongside All-Pro Jalen Ramsey.Tre’ Herndon or fellow undrafted rookie Quenton Meeks is expected to start, and newly signed Dee Delaney will serve as a backup. Meeks started the season on the practice squad Corey Grant Jersey , and Delaney was promoted to the 53-man roster Thursday. The team placed linebacker Donald Payne (knee) on IR.“I’m definitely looking forward to it,” said Meeks, a former starter at Stanford. “It’s a chance to fill in for A.J. I’m just trying to fill in and do my job until he gets back healthy and everything like that. I have to step in and do what I have to do. I’m just preparing like I would all the time. I’ve worked my whole life for this.”Meeks is the son of former Indianapolis Colts defensive coordinator Ron Meeks, who coached in the NFL between 1991 and 2012. Whenever a defense in the NFL has struggled to generate turnovers Womens Calais Campbell Jersey , you always hear a coach or a veteran player say something along the lines of “they come in bunches”. For most of the 2019 season the Jaguars defense struggled to force turnovers, but the last two games have shown exactly why coaches and players say that. The turnovers come in bunches.A big reason for the Jaguars success the last two weeks is simply because the pass rush has finally started to get going, in large part due to Yannick Ngakoue finally being healthy, and it allows the back seven of the defense to play aggressive. The pass rush has forced the opposing team’s quarterbacks to make quick decisions and force pass that are ill-advised and the defenders have taken advantage of it.On Sunday against the Jets http://www.thejaguarslockerroom.com/authentic-dede-westbrook-jersey , after an easy opening drive, Jaguars defensive coordinator Todd Wash dialed up the pressures and quarterback Sam Darnold folded. The Jaguars battered Darnold all day with pressure and he started making poor decisions and forcing passes he shouldn’t have, and guys like Tre Herndon took advantage of it.Through the last two games the Jaguars defense has generated seven turnovers and 10 sacks, and the keys to all of those games are that the team has gotten an early lead and dialed up the pressures. Even against the Cincinnati Bengals Jalen Ramsey Jersey , where the Jaguars didn’t have a big lead/lost the lead, they knew the Bengals offense wasn’t going to do much and got super aggressive. Going forward, if teams have a struggling offensive line, it’s going to be highly likely that the Jaguars defense puts tons of pressure on the quarterback and they’ll be forced into mistakes.

In what should come as a surprise to nobody that has been paying attention, the Los..." Chargers PlayersThe Chargers have the best cornerback trio in the NFLNew,51commentsPDTEarlier this week, Pro Football Focus ranked the top five cornerback trios in the National Football League. In what should come as a surprise to nobody that has been paying attention, the Los Angeles Chargers took the top spot. Casey Hayward, Desmond King, and Trevor Williams are as good as it gets at the cornerback position. Hayward has been the top corner on the Chargers since he arrived in San Diego in 2016, and that has remained the case for three seasons. He has (per PFF) forced an incompletion on 24.6% of targets and allowed the fourth-lowest passer rating during that time. There is an argument to be made that King, who was drafted by the Chargers a year after Hayward had signed in free agency, is ready to pass Hayward as the best cornerback on the roster despite primarily playing inside. King has been one of the NFL’s best slot corners and is well on his way to being considered the best slot cornerback in the league. Per PFF Doug Flutie Jersey , nobody has allowed a lower passer rating (83.3) on slot targets. One might be inclined to discount Williams after his lackluster 2018 performance, but he was dogged by an ankle injury all season and it is reasonable to believe that the “real” Trevor Williams was the one we saw the year before in 2017, the one that was one of the very best players at his position. By all accounts, Williams is back to 100% and although he will need to beat out Michael Davis in training camp to do so, he should be able to get back to where he was when we all thought the Chargers had unearthed another shutdown corner. Haffey/Getty ImagesThere has been a log-jam at the wide receiver position over the last couple years and a number of capable wideouts have had to sit back and work in the background as Keenan Allen, Mike Williams, Tyrell Williams, and Travis Benjamin kept all the playing time to themselves. Now that Tyrell has officially moved up to Oakland http://www.thechargerslockerroom.com/authentic-trevor-williams-jersey , there are a decent amount of snaps to go around to a lucky player who can separate himself from the pack. Davis is right up there on the short-list along with last year’s sixth-round pick, Dylan Cantrell, as well as Artavis Scott.Even with Travis Benjamin currently sitting at third on the depth chart, I wouldn’t be surprised to see the team use a heavy rotation to start the regular season (apart from Allen and Williams, of course.)Basic InfoHeight: 6-3Weight: 211College: University of ConnecticutExperience: 5Years with team: 3Contract Status“Geremy Davis signed a 1 year, $895,000 contract with the Los Angeles Chargers, including a $25,000 signing bonus, $25 Womens Desmond King Jersey ,000 guaranteed, and an average annual salary of $895,000. When Dontrelle Inman was with the team, he was mostly used in 1-WR sets and utilized for his effort as a blocker. I believe that’s what has helped keep Davis around. He has yet to catch a pass in the regular season since he was with the New York Giants in 2015, but he always tends to show out in the exhibition games prior to the season. He is also a veteran who can provide spot duty in a pinch. If something were to happen to a receiver in front of him on the depth chart, he wouldn’t be the worst guy to have waiting in the wings. The BadNo matter how good he consistently looks in the preseason, Davis has yet to catch a pass in a regular season game over the last three full seasons. To his name, he only has two catches for 21 yards. That’s no bueno no matter how you look at it. Maybe he just needs the right opportunity? Maybe he’s just a preseason All-American? We just don’t know at this point. I think Davis is going to have to show out one more time during this year’s exhibition games to finally show the staff that he can hang if given a legitimate workload.Odds of making the team/What to expect in 2019I think Davis is close to a sure-thing when it comes to making the final 53. He’s been nothing but consistent and available and those two things are high up on the coaches’ priorities. The team really didn’t bring in or draft anyone that seems automatically better than Davis, either. Cantrell and Scott seem to be the only guys in the room that could potentially push Davis down the depth chart so, at worst, he could be the team’s sixth and final wide receiver on the active roster.Fun Fact: Davis was a standout player for the UConn Huskies from 2011-2014. He finished his career with 165 catches for 2 http://www.thechargerslockerroom.com/authentic-michael-schofield-jersey ,292 yards, both of which were school records in the FBS era at the time. He currently sits at 6th all-time in receptions and receiving yards in school history while holding the single-game record for receptions in a game at 15. As a junior, he became the first wideout to surpass 1,000 receiving yards in a season since 1988.
who once said “Philadelphia is the dumbest sports city in America” but Colin Cowherd actually had a really good take on the Philadelphia Eagles earlier this week. You would think that Cowherd might rip the Eagles for how their 2018 season ended http://www.eagleslockerroom.com/authentic-wes-hopkins-jersey , calling them a “one-year wonder”or a “fluke.” But he didn’t. Instead, he actually went on a long rant about how the Eagles were incredibly impressive in their playoff loss to the New Orleans Saints.Entire transcript below:Putting aside a few inaccuracies (we all know the Eagles were NOT a healthy team in 2017), I think Cowherd said it pretty well. This year’s team was an impressive group. As we reflect on the season, I can’t help but feel like the 2018 Eagles were like the first Rocky movie. The comparison obviously isn’t perfect since they were coming off a Super Bowl win. But the end of the Eagles’ season, and how it’s being viewed, reminds me of Rocky Balboa losing the match to Apollo Creed but earning everyone’s respect in the process. Not unlike Rocky surprisingly dropping Apollo to the canvas, the Eagles gave the Saints a much bigger scare than anyone reasonably expected. And though the final results weren’t the desired outcome Wilbert Montgomery Jersey , ultimately we could be very proud of the side we cheered on.Now, hopefully 2019 ends up being like Rocky II for the Eagles. PHILADELPHIA (AP) — As Colin Kaepernick watched from the apparel giant’s headquarters in Oregon, Nike aired its highly anticipated ad featuring the quarterback known for his social protests during the NFL season opener Thursday night. The spot highlighting the former 49ers quarterback locked in a grievance with the league aired during the first ad break in the third quarter of the Eagles-Falcons game, which started with no overt demonstrations by players during the national anthem.A person familiar with the situation told The Associated Press that Kaepernick was watching the ad’s first television airing on NBC at an event held at Nike’s world headquarters in Beaverton, Oregon. The person spoke on condition of anonymity because details of the visit were not announced publicly.Still, some attendees posted accounts of the visit on social media, including video of Kaepernick speaking to a crowd Thursday several hours before the ad aired.“You have to think beyond what you see around you Womens Harold Carmichael Jersey ,” said Kaepernick, who hasn’t spoken to the media publicly since opting out of his contract with San Francisco and becoming a free agent in 2017.“You have to see the future that you believe in and that you want not just for yourself but all the people you see globally,” he said.Kaepernick’s deal with Nike for the 30th anniversary of the “Just Do It” campaign was the most polarizing issue in sports this week, prompting heated debate on several topics including athletes protesting social injustice and Nike wading into political waters. Some fans responded to Kaepernick’s sponsorship deal by cutting or burning gear with Nike’s signature swoosh logo. Others argued the backlash and calls for a Nike boycott showed how debate has morphed beyond how to react to athletes trying to highlight issues like racial inequality and police shootings of unarmed minorities.“I don’t like what Nike did. I don’t think it’s appropriate what they did,” President Donald Trump said in an interview with Fox News before a rally in Montana.“I honor the flag. I honor our national anthem and most of the people in this country feel the same way.”There were no clear-cut protests as “The Star-Spangled Banner” played before the game with both teams on the field and the song broadcasted nationally.Eagles safety Malcolm Jenkins and defensive end Michael Bennett were on the sideline and neither really demonstrated during the song. Jenkins and Bennett regularly have either knelt or stayed off the field during the anthem to protest social injustice and racial inequality. They have been among the most vocal protesters since Kaepernick began similar demonstrations in 2016. Jenkins stood with teammates while Bennett wandered behind them near the Eagles bench and adjusted his equipment.Jenkins said he thinks players should shift the focus of the debate away from the anthem itself and back to the issues they are trying to highlight.“I think there’s a huge need for us to turn the attention to not only the issues, but what players are actually doing in their communities to promote change,” he said. “We’re trying to move past the rhetoric of what’s right or what’s wrong in terms of the anthem and really focus on the systematic issues that are plaguing our communities.”No Falcons players were absent from the sideline and none has protested in the recent past. The anthem has been a particularly thorny issue for the NFL http://www.eagleslockerroom.com/authentic-randall-cunningham-jersey , especially Trump urging owners to bench or fire players who demonstrate. Players say their message has been misconstrued into something against the American flag or the military.Kaepernick’s grievance against the league and team owners accuses owners of colluding to keep him off any roster. An arbitrator gave Kaepernick an incremental victory by allowing the challenge to go to trial.Jenkins said Nike’s commercial is changing the portrayal of Kaepernick in the public eye.“Quite frankly, long after all of this is done (Kaepernick) will be looked at as somebody that changed this sport and changed the dynamics of all athletes in general in our country,” Jenkins said. The league and players union still haven’t resolved whether players will be punished this season if they choose to kneel or demonstrate during the anthem. Owners approved a policy requiring players to stand if they are on the sideline during the song, allowing them to stay off the field if they wish. But the league and union put that on hold after the Miami Dolphins faced backlash for classifying the protests as conduct potentially detrimental to the team — putting players at risk of fines or suspensions.

We looked at the offense yesterday, now let’s look at the defense. The Jaguars have three free agents whose contracts are up this year. http://www.thebearslockerroom.com/authentic-joel-iyiegbuniwe-jersey , Ill. (AP)The Chicago Bears made sweeping changes to lift a struggling franchise, and general manager Ryan Pace can’t wait to see how it all comes together. The next big step is here. The Bears reported to camp Thursday looking for bigger things after a busy offseason.”I’d say it’s been aggressive,” Pace said. ”There’s been a lot of work that’s been done. It feels like it’s gone by fast because of that. But it’s very exciting and energizing. What’s neat about it is how quickly this continuity has come together.”There are a lot of new pieces with our support staff, with our coaches, with our players, and it’s really neat to see how fast that’s come together, even before we started training camp.”The team that takes the field Friday, when practices begin, will have a decidedly different look than the one that finished with five wins last season. There were big changes on the sideline, with the Bears hiring Nagy off Andy Reid’s staff in Kansas City to replace the fired John Fox.Besides bringing in an offensive-minded head coach, the Bears rebuilt a struggling receiving group to try to get the most out of prized quarterback Mitchell Trubisky. His development will obviously go a long way toward determining how soon Chicago ends a run of four straight last-place finishes in the NFC North and becomes a playoff contender. The Bears have made the postseason just one time since the 2006 team reached the Super Bowl.It doesn’t hurt that they’re starting camp at just about full strength, though they might be without one notable player – rookie linebacker Roquan Smith. The No. 8 overall draft pick did not report Thursday and remained unsigned.Pace seemed confident the impasse will end soon.”This happens,” he said. ”This isn’t necessarily abnormal around the league. It’s happening. It is sometimes part of the process. We’re very optimistic that he’ll be here very soon.”One positive for Chicago: Nagy was not expecting any players to start camp on the physically unable to perform list. He said receiver Allen Robinson and guard Kyle Long should be ”full speed ahead, good to go” after they were held back in offseason workouts because of injuries.”The reason we did that was so they’d be ready to go now,” Nagy said. ”Now it’s go time.”For them and the Bears. It’s time see how everything comes together.Fox’s 14-34 record over three seasons gave him the second-worst winning percentage in franchise history. And the Bears are counting on a first-time head coach to help turn them around.Nagy will be calling the plays, something he didn’t do until late last season. But he has earned high marks for his work with quarterbacks, particularly Alex Smith.”He brings a lot to the table,” Trubisky said. ”It’s a group effort, everyone’s bringing ideas together, but at the end of the day, it’s Coach Nagy’s offense and he’s just adding details, he’s a very detailed person. You can see his creativity every day, pretty much.”Trubisky envisions a more potent and creative offense. The training wheels are essentially off. It’s a big change from where he was a year ago, when the Bears penciled him into a backup role, only to thrust him into the starting spot after Mike Glennon struggled through the first four games. He also has some new playmaking targets, most notably Robinson. The Bears are banking on the talented receiver to regain the form that made him a Pro Bowl pick in 2015 and put aside the knee injury that sidelined him almost all of last season. Robinson tore the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee on Jacksonville’s third play of the season and had surgery the following week.”I feel great. It’s been a process that we’ve taken a little bit slower, but I think that was for the best,” Robinson said. ”It just was all about getting me ready for this time right here, so I feel great. I feel 100 percent and I’m ready to go.”— Brian Urlacher holding the George Halas Trophy, after advancing to the Super Bowl.Photo by Al Messerschmidt/Getty ImagesWeek 14 brought an early Christmas gift for the Chicago Bears and their fans. Not only did they knock off the best team in football Womens Nick Kwiatkoski Jersey , at home, on Sunday night football, but they find themselves at (9-4) with a chance to not only clinch a playoff spot on Sunday, but clinch their first NFC North crown since the 2010 season. It has taken some help along the way and none more than the Minnesota Vikings current two-game losing streak. But here we are. What better way to clinch the division than to beat the Green Bay Packers and deliver the final death blow on their disappointing season?Either way you cut it, Sunday is setting up to be a sizable celebration for the Bears and this deserving fan base. Whether that’s a win, or a Vikings loss to clinch the division, or even a Washington Redskins loss to clinch a playoff spot. The Bears will have three separate chances to punch their playoff ticket. And that is what makes this such an exciting time to be a Bears fan.I fully expected to get a ton of questions on quarterback Mitchell Trubisky and I was not disappointed.Let me start of by saying, I get it. Trubisky has been up and down this season and a game where he throws three interceptions and fails to eclipse 120 passing yards isn’t exactly going to inspire confidence from the fan base. With that being said, I think we all need to take a step back and breath. Yes, Week 14 may have been the worst game of his young NFL career. But even so, he was on pace to break the Bears single season passing yards record, along with eclipsing 30 passing touchdowns in just his second year, before hurting his right shoulder. All in all, 2018 has been a big step up for Trubisky and that is something that should give fans some hope. On top of that, his worst game came off a two-game absence from an injury to his throwing shoulder. That context needs to be shared.I know it can be hard to see Patrick Mahomes light it up, but as I’ve said all along, their developmental situations since being drafted have been completely different. It’s time that we focus solely on Trubisky and what he’s doing for this team. It’s also time we take a look forward at the team’s cap situation — not bad but also not nearly as flexible as we’ve seen the past four years — and of course their lack of first round draft picks over the next two off-seasons. The reality? Trubisky is here to stay, for at least the next two years. I’d say much, much longer, but again, I still think at worst, he will be an average quarterback. Even if he’s not “the guy”, the Bears don’t exactly have the resources to do much about it until the 2021 off-season.Trubisky has the ability to help lead this team to a Super Bowl. Maybe not this year, but they are strong enough everywhere else that he doesn’t need to be the sole reason, but simply one of many reasons, why they can win it all. Consistency is a big key, but let’s give this more time before we completely write him off or start our search for the new franchise quarterback.According to our very own, Jack Silverstein, it was Christmas day of 2005 when the Bears last clinched a the division against the Packers. I’ve attached Jack’s response for your viewing pleasure.Christmas may come early this year and it would be a gift that every Bears fan would cherish for another 13 years. On this day (December 11th, 2018) Prince Amukamara Jersey , we have our first draft question of the season. My, how times have changed...Full disclosure: One of the main reasons I picked this question is because I’m an Oklahoma fan and I love Rodney Anderson. I also continued to believe that the Bears will move on from Jordan Howard in the off-season (despite his recent 100-yard game). When I look (a very shallow dive) into the 2019 NFL draft class, I don’t see nearly the same amount of talent at the running back position that I’ve seen the past few seasons. For one, there’s no elite talent this year and secondly, there’s not a ton of top-end talent compared to previous years. With that being said, if Anderson (a first round talent, if not for injury issues) is there when the Bears have the last pick in the third round (see what I did there?), they should absolutely take him. Not only is he an outstanding runner, he has great hands out of the backfield and is a pretty good pass blocker as well. He’s the complete package. The biggest issue for him has always been health, but the good news is a lot of his injuries has been bad luck, rather than durability issues.Even so, I’d be somewhat surprised if he lasts so late in the draft. All of this, despite tearing his ACL earlier in the Sooners’ season. This is a very good question and one that may be somewhat hard to answer, considering everything involved.First, I’ll start off by saying that Adam Shaheen’s injury in preseason really screwed up the Bears plans and how they planned to use their tight ends. These things happen, but don’t underestimate the plan they had for the former second round pick heading into the season.Secondly, Shaheen came back at an odd time. After being activated off of injured reserve against the Vikings in Week 11, he played limited snaps. Then the team turned around a played a their second game in 88 hours on Thanksgiving, which he missed with a concussion. Once he came back, he was sliding into an offense with a backup quarterback. His third game back was one where Trubisky couldn’t hit an open receiver to save his life.Honestly, this offense has been in reverse over the past few weeks, at least from my view. Whether that’s because of the quarterback situation, facing better defenses, or anything else that I have failed to mention, it’s been the defense carrying this team as of late. That makes it hard to get new pieces involved, especially when their top tight end Trey Burton has been almost non-existent.Overall, I’d expect them to keep using him in goal line situations, but don’t discount his value as a blocker. He’s been a big reason why the Bears have run the ball better the past few weeks, especially sealing off the outside.A whole lot.It all starts with the Bears winning out. That means victories against the Packers, 49ers and Vikings. On paper http://www.thebearslockerroom.com/authentic-adam-shaheen-jersey , that doesn’t seem overly daunting but we’ve seen that this team can beat anybody but also lose to any given team. From there, it’s focusing on the two teams in front of them.Saints (11-2) with games remaining against Panthers (x2) and the Steelers.Rams (11-2) with games against the Eagles, Cardinals and 49ers.From a tie-breaking standpoint, if the Bears finish with the same record as either two teams, they would win that battle. From a realistic standpoint, the Saints are far and away the most likely to lose two of their last three. But even then, it still seems unlikely that things will go that nicely for the Bears down the stretch. In such a great year for the Bears, there’s been a lot of talk about not only Executive of the Year (which I think general manager Ryan Pace should absolutely win) and of course Coach of the Year with head coach Matt Nagy. Now I have to admit, for as much as I love what Nagy has done so far, I think that this race is much closer. I’m also not sure that I could objectively give it to him at this point. Even for as impressive of a turnaround as the Bears have had, there’s just too many good coaches out there right now.If I had to do a top five right now, this would be my list.Pete Carroll (Seahawks)Andy Reid (Chiefs)Matt Nagy (Bears)Sean McVay (Rams)Frank Reich (Colts)There’s also a host of other coaches like Sean Payton (Saints), Bill O’Brien (Texans) and a few others that there could be an argument for as well.Really what this comes down for me is doing the most with either as little as possible, or a big turnaround from the previous year. That’s why I give Carroll the nod here. At least for me, I had the Seahawks as a five-to-six win team. Especially when looking at all of the star power they lost and everything that went wrong during this past off-season. Reid has done an outstanding job, especially with a first-year starter in Mahomes and after trading away Marcus Peters. The other one that really stands out to me on this list is Reich. We all know the story of the Colts head coaching search. He goes from a last option, to having his team firmly in the Wild Card race. All of this being a year removed from people questioning whether Andrew Luck would ever play again. On top of that, they had a terrible offensive line and a defense that couldn’t stop anybody. Now all of the sudden, those are two strengths of the team. It’s possible Nagy could win it but there are a ton of great coaches this year and that shouldn’t take away from what he’s been able to do with a Bears team that had 14 wins in a three-year period, prior to the 2018 season. In all honestly, none of the possible match ups in the first week of the playoff scare me.Ideally, I’d rather not see the Vikings in back-to-back weeks, purely from a boring factor. I also think that the harder the defense is, the more issues the Bears will have. Albeit, Kirk Cousins against teams over (.500) hasn’t been very good.I think when I look at potential teams to face, I’d want the Bears to stay away from the Eagles (who are currently on the outside looking in). Their experience factor is something that worries me a bit. In what should come as a surprise to nobody that has been paying attention Philip Rivers Jersey , the Los Angeles Chargers took the top spot. There is an argument to be made that King, who was drafted by the Chargers a year after Hayward had signed in free agency Womens Kellen Winslow Jersey , is ready to pass Hayward as the best cornerback on the roster despite primarily playing inside. King has been one of the NFL’s best slot corners and is well on his way to being considered the best slot cornerback in the league. Per PFF, nobody has allowed a lower passer rating (83.3) on slot targets. One might be inclined to discount Williams after his lackluster 2018 performance, but he was dogged by an ankle injury all season and it is reasonable to believe that the “real” Trevor Williams was the one we saw the year before in 2017, the one that was one of the very best players at his position. By all accounts, Williams is back to 100% and although he will need to beat out Michael Davis in training camp to do so http://www.thechargerslockerroom.com/authentic-lance-alworth-jersey , he should be able to get back to where he was when we all thought the Chargers had unearthed another shutdown corner.
Well Ron Jaworski Jersey , Jason Kelce might be playing his last game with the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday. 610 ESPN Radio Philadelphia writer/host Al Thompson reports Kelce is likely to retire whenever the Eagles’ 2019 playoff run is over. For those unfamiliar with Thompson, he’s a credentialed Eagles reporter who regularly covers the team from the NovaCare Complex in South Philly. Assuming this report is true, it’s obviously not good news for the Eagles. Kelce is arguably the best center in the NFL. He’s been critical to the team’s success. Not to mention he’s been such a lovable fan favorite ever since the Eagles selected in the sixth round of the 2011 NFL Draft. If Kelce retires, the Eagles could be looking at Stefen Wisniewski or Isaac Seumalo as their starting center in 2019. Whoever doesn’t start at center could be starting at left guard. It’s not totally implausible that Kelce would hang ‘em up. He turned 31 in November and he’s about to wrap up his eighth NFL season. Including playoffs, he’s started and played 115 games over his career. He’s often played through nagging injuries in recent years http://www.eagleslockerroom.com/authentic-malcolm-jenkins-jersey , so maybe he just feels like his body can’t take the grind much longer. He also might feel like there’s not much more to accomplish, especially if the Eagles win their second straight Super Bowl this postseason. With that said, there are some conflicting reports about Kelce’s intentions. BGN alumnus Mike Kaye says a decision regarding Kelce’s future has not been made.NFL insider Adam Caplan also said he heard Thompson’s report is “inaccurate.”It’s worth noting that Kelce is currently signed through 2020. His deal contains no guaranteed money once this season is over, however. If Kelce does retire, the Eagles would save $6.5 million in cap space with zero dead money. If Kelce doesn’t retire Womens Jalen Mills Jersey , perhaps the Eagles will rework his deal so that he gets some more financial security. Maybe the threat of him retiring is some kind of leverage play to help him get a revised contract? Total speculation on my part. It’d be much more preferable if Kelce’s last game with the Eagles was at this year’s Super Bowl, not in the Superdome. It’d be even more preferable for Kelce to not retire after this season (or ever, really). Hopefully he’s back for the 2019 season. Penn State produced the first running back taken in the 2018 draft and Saquon Barkley proved to be ready for the limelight by topping 2,000 yards from scrimmage for the Giants.Alabama’s Josh Jacobs was the first back selected this year, but a Penn State product was the next one off the board. The Eagles made Miles Sanders the 53rd overall pick and Barkley said this weekend that it will be “awesome” to see his former backup twice a year in NFC East matchups. He also said that he thinks the Eagles are going to be very happy with what Sanders brings to their offense.“What he went through Brandon Graham Jersey , coming here as a five-star to sitting back and waiting for his spot and his moment, when he got his moment he took advantage of it,” Barkley said, via the . “To be the second running back taken in the draft — and in my opinion, the best running back in the draft — he’s going to prove that to the league this year. I’m really excited for him.”Barkley had a clear path to the starting job with the Giants as a rookie http://www.eagleslockerroom.com/authentic-dallas-goedert-jersey , but Sanders will have more competition with Jordan Howard, Corey Clement, Josh Adams, Wendell Smallwood and others on hand in Philly. If he’s as good as Barkley thinks, his chances of moving to the front of the list should be pretty good.

Some of that is on his offensive line being backups of backups of backups, some of that is on one of the worst passing games in the league, and some of it is on him.All that said Lerentee McCray Jersey , I think a Day 3 pick for Jackson seems about right. I’d be surprised if they got anything for Hyde though.Jacksonville Jaguars vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers preseason primer: Key matchups, storylines, predictions, and more for Week 4 The Jacksonville Jaguars leave home but remain in-state this Thursday night at 7:30pm EST when they take on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Raymond James Stadium. While Jaguars fans feel they have to drudge through one more menial preseason game watching the dregs of the roster compete, tomorrow could not be more important for players looking to burst the roster bubble and realize their dreams of playing NFL football. An article by Mike Kaye recently emphasized how critical tomorrow night’s game is for the fringe players on the roster, and the thought that some guys taking the field tomorrow may be putting pads on for the last time in their lives is jarring.OpponentIt is difficult to provide a pulse on the Buccaneers (or the Jaguars, for that matter) since we will see very few starters feature in tomorrow’s game. Some unsettled depth positions for the Bucs heading into this game include running back, cornerback, offensive line, and return specialist. Second-year running back Dare Ogunbowale and rookie free agent Shaun Wilson are vying for the final spot behind Peyton Barber http://www.thejaguarslockerroom.com/authentic-keelan-cole-jersey , Ronald Jones II, and Jacquizz Rodgers, and both have been tried out in the return game. Wide receiver and former Seminole Bobo Wilson is the heavy favorite to be the team’s primary returner this year, but if one of those running backs can showcase anything in that regard, they may be able to consolidate a roster spot.De’Vante Harris, who played well last week, and Josh Robinson are battling for the final spot on the cornerback depth chart. The offensive line picture behind the starters is murky, as several players in this position group have been plagued by injuries over the first three weeks of preseason, so there will be a high level of competition with spots to be earned. Kicker Chandler Catanzaro has been inconsistent thus far, missing one field goal and two extra point attempts Corey Grant Jersey , so the Bucs may once again be in the kicker market after final cuts if Catanzaro has another snafu. StorylinesAfter seeing time with the second and third-string units last week against Atlanta, Dante Fowler Jr. is expected to see plenty of playing time this week ahead of his suspension for the season opener against the New York Giants. A few other defensive lineman who have a lot to gain this week include Dawuane Smoot and Eli Ankou, both of whom have missed the majority of the preseason with injury. Despite being a third round pick in 2017, Smoot is in serious peril of not making this roster and could be a candidate for injured reserve if he “aggravates” his ankle injury on Thursday. Ankou and fourth-year defensive tackle Michael Bennett are likely competing for one roster spot, but my money is on Bennett due to Ankou’s eligibility for the practice squad.Taven Bryan showed some promising flashes in his debut, and his first step quickness and explosiveness off the snap really shows up on film. While Bryan’s roster spot is not in jeopardy, a solid outing could open up the door to more rotational steps earlier in the season. With questions at depth linebacker, this week is huge for players like Andrew Motuapuaka and Donald Payne. One player to keep an eye on is recently-signed Nick DeLuca, who saw fourth quarter snaps last week and looked comfortable barking out instructions to teammates in the defensive huddle. DeLuca was a player who stood out to me at the Senior Bowl in Mobile, and while it may be a little late in the game for him to seriously challenge for a roster spot Womens Calais Campbell Jersey , he should be focused on showing enough to potentially earn a practice squad spot.Key matchupsQuenton Meeks vs. Tre HerndonObviously, they won’t be going up against each other in this game, but it’s likely that the two promising rookie free agents are competing for one roster spot. Herndon’s versatility inside and outside gives him a slight edge, but with two guys on the roster in Patmon and Hayden who can play nickel, the team may prefer Meeks’ length as a developmental boundary corner. This is likely the most compelling position battle on the roster right now, and it would sting to see yet another Breian Boddy-Calhoun/Mike Hilton leave this roster right now. Will Richardson Jr. vs. Noah Spence/Will ClarkeRichardson has seen very minimal snaps in two games, but I’ve liked what I’ve seen against third stringers so far. Noah Spence is the Bucs’ version of Dante Fowler Jr. in that he has been that rotational true edge pass rusher on obvious rushing downs, and he has curiously been playing very late into the game recently. If Spence sits, Will Clarke is a very capable defensive end who will be a nice match up for Richardson.Allen Lazard vs. Carlton DavisI adored Allen Lazard in my pre-draft evaluation, but he hasn’t done a single thing in the preseason games thus far. Maybe the Jags are hiding him to sneak him through waivers and onto the practice squad http://www.thejaguarslockerroom.com/authentic-dede-westbrook-jersey , but he needs to put up more than a goose egg in the stat sheet this preseason. He should get plenty of opportunities to do so this week, but with Tanner Lee trying to throw him the football, he is almost set up to fail.Brandon Wilds vs. Jack CichyWilds has done a really nice job and is making some noise to earn the fourth running back spot on this roster. The Jaguars will likely be scouring the wire to see if any good players shake out for this role, but a dominant outing may make them comfortable with what they have. Personally, I’d risk sneaking Wilds through to the practice squad, where you can activate him at any time this season if Fournette, Yeldon or Grant get dinged up. Cichy was a day two talent that fell due to multiple injury concerns, and he should get the majority of snaps at middle linebacker.Final predictionNo. Ladies and gentlemen, let’s get this season started.Jaguars-Something Bucs-Something
will to use the Jaguars-Texans game in London on Nov. 3 to raise awareness of the fight against cancer. Bouye and Joseph Womens Landry Jones Jersey , who have both lost parents to cancer, will donate their tickets to a lucky fan in an effort to raise more awareness for the NFL’s Crucial Catch’s mission to help save lives, celebrate lives, and fight for a world without cancer.Bouye has felt the effects of cancer from a young age as he lost his mom to breast and brain cancer at the age of 2. Joseph understands that cancer can affect anyone and supports this cause to honor his late father, whom he lost to lung cancer.“The Crucial Catch campaign is just one way that the American Cancer Society and the NFL are trying to intercept cancer,” says Sharon Byers, chief development, marketing and communications officer the the American Cancer Society. “This is a once in a lifetime opportunity for a special fan experience in London, all while knowing you’re helping our mission to fight cancer from every angle.”NFL fans can enter for a chance to win by donating a minimum of $10 to the American Cancer Society and can double their entry by completing the Defender Tool at crucialcatch.nfl.com.“I understand on a deeper level how much these donations are needed in order to find a cure and save lives,” Bouye says Donte Moncrief Jersey , “so I want to use my platform to raise awareness for the American Cancer Society’s cause.”Adds Joseph:“Cancer affects everyone and that’s why it’s so important that we continue to raise funds to fight the disease. “I lost my father to lung cancer and I know the pain that it causes. I’m humbled to use my platform to help save lives through support of the American Cancer Society and to honor my father’s legacy.” Up, down. Good, bad. This is nothing new for the Jacksonville Jaguars.Offensive inconsistency has become as much a part of the team’s identity as defensive proficiency under coach Doug Marrone. It’s Jacksonville’s biggest downfall and a main reason why many outsiders refuse to consider the Jaguars (2-1) a legitimate title contender in 2018.They reached another low Sunday, failing to score an offensive touchdown for the second time in two years, advancing past midfield just twice and losing 9-6 to AFC South rival Tennessee .Dropped passes, batted balls and penalties were part of the problem. So was Blake Bortles, who completed 21 of 34 passes for 155 yards and was sacked three times. The lackluster performance came one week after Jacksonville looked unbelievably smooth in a 31-20 victory against New England , a rematch of last season’s AFC championship game.More Jacksonville Jaguars newsJets’ Darnold throws 3 more picks in 29-15 loss at JaguarsRams get CB Jalen Ramsey from Jaguars for 3 draft picksBridgewater now 4-0 as starter after Saints top Jaguars 13-6Jaguars once elite defense struggles as Gardner Minshew, DJ Chark build chemistryLeonard Fournette runs for career-high as Jaguars mount comeback to beat Broncos“Is it head-scratching? It was a combination of really not playing well at all.”The Jaguars will try to bounce back against the New York Jets (1-2) on Sunday, wrapping up a three-game homestand.“We’ve got to find out and figure out how we’re going to handle it as a team,” Bortles said.Getting running back Leonard Fournette back would help. Fournette missed his second consecutive game with a strained right hamstring. He tweaked it in the season opener at the New York Giants and has missed 10 of 12 quarters.Fournette is the team’s offensive centerpiece, a pounding runner who sets the tone for Marrone’s throwback style. The Jags managed to beat the Giants and Patriots without him, but needed a defensive touchdown to upend New York and the best game of Bortles’ five-year career to knock off New England. They never led against the Titans, falling behind after a failed fake punt early and giving up a game-winning drive late.“It definitely feels like a letdown,” Bortles said. “I don’t think there was anything carried over from last week or the previous two weeks. We try to treat it like a new start, a fresh start. … Kind of came out and offensively laid a goose egg. Score six points in four quarters is hard to do.”It was the franchise’s fewest points since a 30-6 loss to Houston in the 2015 season finale and its fewest at home since a 37-3 drubbing by Indianapolis in 2013.The Jaguars blamed the latest dud on matchup issues against the equally physical Titans, who have won three in a row and five of the last six in the series. But they also struggled to generate many yards and points against the Jets Womens Leonard Fournette Jersey , Cleveland, Arizona and Buffalo in 2017 and against the Giants two weeks ago.“Very frustrating, but we’re not going to blame people,” Jaguars cornerback Jalen Ramsey said. Not yet anyway. But in a season several players have dubbed Super Bowl-or-bust and with a defense that considers itself the best in the league , Jacksonville has potential for back-biting and finger-pointing.The Jaguars insist that won’t happen. Several defenders even spoke in the locker room after the loss and showed support for Bortles and the offense.“I’m confident this team will respond,” defensive end Calais Campbell said. “Losses suck. They always have; they always will. This one stings a little bit because it’s a division game at home. At the end of the day, it’s just one loss, and how we respond is really what it comes down to. I’m very confident this team will respond.”
was 52 years old and winner of eight championships and hurting. The year was 1971 and Dooley’s Bears had not been to the postseason since winning the 1963 NFL championship. After starting the season 6-3 Kevin White Jersey , they got whipped by the Lions and faced what Dooley called a “super-must” game on Monday Night Football: the team had to win out to make the playoffs.Their opponent, the Miami Dolphins, was in the opposite position in every way. They were young — six years in existence, and only two in the NFL. They were undecorated — the year prior they reached the playoffs for the first time in franchise history. They were good. On that day, the Dolphins held the NFL’s best record, 8-1-1.That game in November of ‘71 was the first between these two teams. The storied Bears desperately needed a win. The upstart Dolphins had victories to spare. And what happened? Dolphins 34, Bears 3.This was the beginning of a short, tortured history for Bears fans, one that proceeds to its 13th chapter this Sunday and one that Bears fans ignore at our own peril. You can’t exactly call it a rivalry, but the history certainly poses an existential crisis to me, at least, and presumably other Bears fans bothered by this breakdown in birthrights.Because here’s what bugs me about the Dolphins as it relates to our beloved Bears: this is a franchise we’re supposed to trounce. Generally speaking, the big bad Midwestern Bears weather get-off-the-bus-running-and-let’s-get-grimy charter franchise is supposed to mop the floor with a football team from Florida born in the AFL. That has not been the case. As Bears fans, we take our relationship with certain teams more seriously than others. When we lost to the Packers in Week 1, for instance, we experienced that as more than just one game in the standings. We had identity angst: “Oh no, we STILL can’t beat the Packers.” We lamented the impact that the loss had on our all-time series record. We absorbed the deeper despair of lumbering out of Lambeau with yet another loss. This is natural with the Packers and certain other teams, because obviously there are divisional rivalries, geographic rivalries and longevity rivalries. The Dolphins fail all three of these, so we don’t pay them much mind beyond the limited scope of our head-to-head matchups.Yet in the same way that losing repeatedly to Green Bay is bad for our psyche, or becoming underdogs to the Lions is bad for our psyche, this terminal battery at the hands of the Dolphins leaves lasting scars. We simply don’t acknowledge them.We should.Chicago Tribune, December 3, 1985. (via Newspapers.com)Consider this:In 12 contests Womens Walter Payton Jersey , we have won only four times. Did you hear me? We are 4-8 lifetime against a football team from South Florida. Not one of our four wins offered any lasting merit. We played the Dolphins three times in the 1970s — ‘71, ‘75, ‘79 — losing all three games by a combined score of 111-32. During that time, the Dolphins became an NFL powerhouse, winning two Super Bowls, appearing in a third and notching the NFL’s only undefeated season ever in 1972.Whose record did they break when they won that Super Bowl? Why, ours of course. We went undefeated in 1934 and 1942, losing the NFL championship each time. Then we get to the famous match in 1985, as the 12-0 Bears rolled into Miami to face the 8-4 Dolphins. We all know how that went down: Dolphins 38, Bears 24. With that, we lost our shot at going undefeated and had to forever hear about it from Dolphins fans who can still claim that their ‘72 team was the greatest of all-time.On opening day 1988, we finally got our first win against Miami, a 34-7 shellacking at Soldier Field. But that was Week 1, and it’s tough to really hang your hat on a Week 1 victory when you’re trying to make up for four losses including the ‘85 game.“I don’t put too much stock in the first game,” Mike Ditka said after the win. “I said that before in the preseason.”Our next game against Miami was 1991, also at Soldier. We blew a 13-3 4th quarter lead and lost 16-13 in overtime. We won a forgettable game in ‘94, 17-14, for win #2 in the series. We had our most memorable win in 1997, erasing a 33-18 4th quarter deficit to win 36-33 in overtime. This was made both more memorable and less relevant because we were 0-7 at the time.We lost 27-6 at the end of a doomed 2002.Our next game against the Dolphins was 1985-lite. That was 2006, with a 7-0 record against a 1-6 Dolphins team led by Joey Harrington. I was in the Soldier Field stands that day. The Dolphins took a 14-3 lead in the 2nd quarter on a Jason Taylor pick-six off of one of the worst balls Rex ever threw, and ran all over us with Ronnie Brown (157 yards on 29 carries) en route to a 31-13 Bears loss, our first of the year. They got us again, ya know?In 2010 we beat them 16-0 in the second most boring Bears shutout I’ve ever watched. That was a playoff year and our third straight win, so perhaps this is the most significant win we’ve had against the Dolphins. That said Gale Sayers Jersey , when was the last time you reminisced about our sparkling 16-0 blanking of the 2010 Dolphins? You haven’t and you know it.From the Chicago Tribune, Oct. 20, 2014. (via Newspapers.com)Lastly, there was the 27-14 loss in 2014, AKA the “Brandon Marshall ‘Unacceptable’ Game.” You remember: Brandon used the word “unacceptable” 17 times in a postgame interview, and probably yelled at Robbie Gould in the locker room. The next two games of this season were the back-to-back 50-poppers from the Pats and Pack, a three-game stretch that spelled the end of the Trestman/Emery era.Now add to that these insult-meets-injury scenarios:Super Bowl wins: 2-1 DolphinsSuper Bowl appearances: 3-2 DolphinsDon Shula passed George Halas for most wins by a coach in NFL historyThe Bears lost a Super Bowl in MiamiThe Dolphins punked out in the ‘85 AFC championship game, denying us our rematchRecent history doesn’t do us much better. Yes, the Dolphins have only reached the playoffs twice since 2002, with just three 10-win seasons. But the Bears have only reached the playoffs three times in that span, with four 10-win seasons. The Dolphins perfectly encapsulate our long, Bear Down nightmare. They represent the gap between our century-long greatness and our 30-year failure. They are the embodiment of the cruel irony that “old school” doesn’t bring new wins. They are the unrequited lust for our own historic stature. My point, my fellow Bears fans, is that we have to take this game more seriously beyond just a win or a loss. Beyond whether Mitch develops further, Floyd gets a sack, Nagy calls a good game or James Daniels plays well at guard, a deeper, more lasting emotional toll is at stake. We are 3-1 and coming off a remarkable victory. We can fumble that momentum away at the hands of our secret adversaries or keep it rolling. In doing so, we can shove the Dolphins into the abyss and correct a trend long in need of rectification. It is time to turn the tide against this team. It is time to march them back to their beach.---Jack M Silverstein is Windy City Gridiron’s Bears historian, and author of “How The GOAT Was Built: 6 Life Lessons From the 1996 Chicago Bulls.” He is the proprietor of Chicago sports history Instagram “A Shot on Ehlo.” Say hey at @readjack.The Bear’s Den, October 10, 2018 BEAR DOWN, CHICAGO BEARS, BEAR DOWN!!!!BEARRRSSSSEurich: Vic Fangio named top coordinator through first quarter - 247Sports - Bears defense has been one of the best in the NFL this season. with two touchdown passes and the Los Angeles Chargers held on for a 20-19 victory on Sunday in London after the Tennessee Titans failed twice on a go-ahead 2-point conversion with 31 seconds remaining.Marcus Mariota completed 24 of 32 passes for 237 yards and a touchdown for the Titans (3-4) Womens Austin Ekeler Jersey , throwing a 1-yard completion to tight end Luke Stocker on fourth down to pull within one after a review determined the quarterback was down as he ran for the end zone on the previous play. The Titans then twice tried to go for the 2-pointer and the win, with Mariota’s first attempt, a pass intended for Tajae Sharp, negated by a defensive holding call on the Chargers’ Casey Hayward and his second, to Taywan Taylor, tipped by safety Anthony Phillips. The Chargers (5-2) won their fourth consecutive game despite the absence of Melvin Gordon, their starting running back http://www.thechargerslockerroom.com/authentic-melvin-gordon-jersey , because of a hamstring injury.Gordon, who entered the game third in the NFL in rushing with 466 yards and had scored a total of nine touchdowns this season.Austin Ekeler, in his second season, earned his first start in Gordon’s place and ran for 42 yards on 12 carries, but it was Rivers who shouldered the burden for the Chargers. He answered Ryan Succop‘s opening 28-yard field goal with a 75-yard touchdown pass to Tyrell Williams on Los Angeles’ first play from scrimmage — the longest touchdown scored in the NFL’s 11-year history of holding games in London.Michael Badgley made it 10-3 with a 29-yard field goal before Succop responded by making one from 33 yards in the second quarter. The Titans appeared poised to head into halftime with the lead before Mariota was intercepted by the Chargers’ Denzel Perryman at their 4-yard line when his pass was tipped at the line of scrimmage.Rivers, who completed 19 of 26 passes, then extended the advantage to 17-6 just over a minute into the second half when he found Michael Williams on a 55-yard touchdown pass. The Titans Philip Rivers Jersey , who entered having lost their past two games, responded on the next possession when Derrick Henry had a 1-yard score to end a 10-quarter skid without a touchdown to climb back to 17-13.Succop missed a field-goal attempt from 51 yards — only his second miss of the season — and after stopping Los Angeles, the Titans took over at their 11-yard line with 4:55 remaining, driving the length of the field on the final drive.Running back Dion Lewis ran for 91 yards on 13 carries, including a 36-yard gain on the final drive that moved Tennessee into the Chargers’ territory. The Titans made their first appearance in England, while the Chargers played at Wembley for the first time since Oct. 26, 2008 Womens Kellen Winslow Jersey , when they lost 37-32 to the New Orleans Saints.NATIONAL ANTHEMLos Angeles left tackle Russell Okung had his right fist raised during the anthem, but put it down before the start of “God Save The Queen.”INJURIESTennessee: Right guard Josh Kline was injured with 43 seconds remaining and replaced by Corey Levin and did not return.Los Angeles: Safety Adrian Philips injured an ankle late in the second quarter before returning in the third. In fact, it wouldn’t even be the fastest recovery from a torn ACL among players on the team. Chargers defensive end Melvin Ingram tore his ACL in May of 2013 and was back on the field for the last four games of the regular season, plus two more games in the postseason.Even if he can’t handle a full workload, the Chargers would love to get Henry on the field in place of the current tight ends http://www.thechargerslockerroom.com/authentic-lance-alworth-jersey , Antonio Gates and Virgil Green, on key plays in the red zone and on third down. Henry might be able to do that, possibly as soon as a week from today.
BGN RadioEye On the Enemy: New York Giants EditionNew Womens Tommy McDonald Jersey ,42commentsEye On the Enemy: New York Giants EditionEDTThe New York Giants have had a whirlwind offseason, but we still aren’t sure if any of it made any sense. To figure it out, you have two options. First, you could visit our friends at Big Blue View. Second, you can listen to the first installment of Eye On the Enemy brought to you by The Kist & Solak Show!On The Kist & Solak Show #97, we attempt to explain what’s going on with the Giants, which is no small task. There were a few things that confused us when we looked at where the team was headed, such as:Where is the pass rush coming from? Will defensive coordinator Jim Bettcher turn the faucet back on and blitz like crazy like he did with the Arizona Cardinals? Why use Saquon Barkley the way they’re using him?How do you even begin to replace Odell Beckham Jr.’s production? Why is Pat Shurmur calling Eli Manning and Daniel Jones “fiery under the covers?”And much, much more!Regarding the question about Barkley, we had a lot to say about the Giants misuse of him, notably in the passing game. This is not a new issue as it’s something I wrote about last last year before their second matchup with the Philadelphia Eagles.Barkley averaged 7.9 yards per catch in his rookie campaign while averaging 8.6 yards after catch. That means his average depth of target was -0.7 yards behind the line of scrimmage. It’s a travesty that such a dynamic weapon is used in such a basic receiving role, but one Eagles’ fans won’t be complaining about.Flipping it over to the defense, defensive coordinator James Bettcher blitzed far less (26% Jerome Brown Jersey , ranked 22nd) than he had in previous years when he ranked top 5 in three consecutive years. With a lack of pass rushing talent that returns a lead sack man with only 5.5 last year (BJ Hill), Bettcher is going to have to get back to his old ways.Perhaps it was the concerns in the secondary holding him back, but how close are they to earning his trust back? In nickel sets, it’s likely that four of five starters will be new faces. It will take time for the unit to gel and develop, even if it’s as big of an upgrade as some think.Looking at the overall picture, the Giants could see success early in the season, but the schedule stiffens towards the end. We both predicted them to end the season at a disappointing 5-11.You can hear everything that went into that prediction and more on The Kist & Solak Show #97! It’s mailbag time.If you ever want to get your questions in, hit me up on Twitter @BenjaminSolak. If you don’t have a Twitter, you can also e-mail me at benjamin [dot] solak [at] gmail, but I will probably tell you to get a Twitter (and answer your question anyway).Let’s start with the million dollar question.Short answer: nah, not really.Long answer: he isn’t as bad as we think he was against Tampa, that’s for sure. He was in great position on the DeSean touchdown and couldn’t have been asked to do much differently on the Mike Evans first down, yet they were two plays that basically broke the game. Across the breadth of the Tampa snaps http://www.eagleslockerroom.com/authentic-seth-joyner-jersey , he didn’t struggle any more than Ronald Darby.Jalen Mills has always been a smaller corner who struggles with physicality; he’s always been a jumpy corner who, despite playing aggressively, doesn’t produce super well on the football. He does not profile to Cover 3 coverage, and despite competing tooth and nail, will likely never be an impact player in that deployment. He’s a lovable dude, and a guy you want on your roster. But he will be a target for opposing quarterbacks for as long as he is a starter on the outside; if anyone will be a liability for the Eagles secondary, it’s him.How do you improve on Mills? It’s tough. That’s probably a next year situation, wherein you re-open camp with a ‘best three will start’ mentality and see if Sidney/Rasul can beat him out. But you want to improve upon him, for sure.Yes.Tampa was a tricky situation. Live, I was frustrated with the seeming willingness to give up those comeback routes into the sideline in the second half; upon watching the film during the week, there were more adjustments made than I originally saw.Schwartz was mixing things up pretty nicely in the original game plan: he was willing to bring blitzes and willing to rotate to Cover 2 shells. The problem was, he got burned on those non-C3 plays — not out of fault of scheme but out of fault of execution. The Darby missed tackle on the O.J. TD; the Malcolm Jenkins whiff in coverage on the DeSean TD. That’s 2 tuddies and 150 yards, man — and it was 90% execution that caused the problem. If his players make mistakes outside of the most practiced/typical coverage shell Womens Jason Peters Jersey , then he can’t really incorporate many wrinkles. There’s a balance there that has to be respected.I think it will. From what I understand about receiver/quarterback chemistry, it comes down to particular senses of timing and spacing. The more you throw a slant to a guy, the better feel you get as a quarterback for how exactly he gets into his break, how he takes the angle, et cetera. And it’s less conscious processing and more intuition — it’s a relationship, a synchronicity. It’s a feel thing. That’s not to say JMatt will get a ton of targets, or will be used heavily. But I do think the pre-existing relationship will help them for those reps that JMatt is on the field. They’ve worked together before, and they have an inherent trust that makes Carson more willing to go his way.I think both can play in both spots which is nice — though yes, I’d expect to see more Jordan Matthews in the slot, because when he was last in this offense, that’s where he was primarily deployed (107 of his 109 targets in 2016 where from the slot, per PFF). Agholor, however Brian Dawkins Jersey , has been cross-trained at all the WR alignments, so he’s the more natural candidate to move outside. Will it be a detriment? Not necessarily. Agholor is still a handful, and the Colts’ secondary doesn’t really have world beaters at any of the cornerback positions. The advantage of the slot receiver position is that it allows for two-way goes by alignment — you can release inside and outside, and that potential is best maximized by players with excellent quickness through their breaks: that’s why those quicker types usually profile to the slot.Agholor can still win with releases, win with quickness, win with route-running intelligence — it’s just the two-way go isn’t present on the outside. Really, in terms of an Aiken-Agholor-Gibson/Wheaton receiver set v. an Agholor-Matthews-Gibson/Wheaton/Aiken set ... give me the Matthews set every time.Really nice question. I like it a lot.I do give a decent amount of causation for the early offensive struggles to the absence of Flip and Reich — though the easy majority of fault goes to the injuries on that side of the ball. That being said, it’s not so much that Flip and Reich designed plays/took advantage of concepts that Doug himself is failing to now do. Rather, the biggest issue is developing the balance and trust between three powerful offensive minds.Think about the wealth of tape those three went through last season, and the trust that has to exist within the trio to work of another man’s film study — I doubt that deep of a relationship exists right now for Groh, Press, and Doug. The same goes for in-game adjustments — simply put, Groh and Press have to earn their esteem with Doug to reach Reich/Flip levels of influence. They’re figuring out the balancing act. It’s predictable http://www.eagleslockerroom.com/authentic-sidney-jones-jersey , totally okay, and shouldn’t be a long-term issue. Still, something to certainly be conscious of.Okay I actually thought about “Birdbrained” for WAY longer than I’d care to admit. I like naming things and I like doing it right.I didn’t want it to come off as too self-important — as if this mailbag is any more brainy than any other mailbags — nor did I want it to sound like an inherently silly Q&A session. I just want y’all to know that, at any given time, I’m more likely to be thinking about the Eagles than not. This is life. Most: iDL (good news for PHI), OT (good news for PHI), WR (good news for PHI), TE (doesn’t really matter), EDGE (let’s get another one)Least: S (bad news for PHI), RB (bad news for PHI), CB (doesn’t matter too much), LB (might matter idk)
JACKSONVILLE http://www.thejaguarslockerroom.com/authentic-myles-jack-jersey , Fla. (AP) — Jacksonville Jaguars coach Doug Marrone is shouldering the blame for the team’s four-game losing streak, saying he “hasn’t done a good enough job for whatever reason to get everyone’s mind in the right place.”Marrone insists he’s not trying to be a “martyr, a shield or anything like that.”Truth is he’s protecting everyone: top executive Tom Coughlin, general manager Dave Caldwell, inconsistent quarterback Blake Bortles , unavailable running back Leonard Fournette and dozens more underperforming players on an underachieving team. The Jaguars (3-5) have been one of the NFL’s biggest busts in 2018, especially last month when they went 0-for-October and looked nothing like the team that advanced to the AFC championship game nine months earlier.“There is a story out there about this team. It is an ugly story,” said Marrone, who is counting on his team to regroup during its Week 9 bye.“But the story hasn’t ended. We can still control how this story reads. When we get away, we have to think long and hard about it. We have to come back and we have to figure out what the story is going to be on the 2018 team.”Injuries are a big reason for the slide, especially with Fournette — the team’s offensive centerpiece — missing six games because of a strained right hamstring. But Coughlin, Caldwell and Bortles deserve criticism.Coughlin designed an old-school team to play in a pass-happy league Womens Yannick Ngakoue Jersey , one in which running the ball is barely important and hiding a mediocre quarterback is next to impossible. The ground-and-pound Jags want to control the clock, limit Bortles’ throws and play stout defense. It can work, but it usually needs everything to go right.Turnovers, dropped passes, defensive lapses, the Jaguars have seen those too often and aren’t built to handle much adversity or overcome double-digit deficits. It doesn’t help that Jacksonville is getting so little from its rookie class and its free-agent crop.Coughlin and Caldwell were so confident they had a playoff team in place that they used the draft to prepare for 2019, adding several down-the-road replacements for veteran starters. First-round pick and defensive lineman Taven Bryan has nine tackles in eight games. Second-round receiver DJ Chark has 12 catches for 159 yards to go along with a fumble and several costly drops. Third-round safety Ronnie Harrison has been the best of the bunch while playing mostly in certain defensive packages.Right tackle Will Richardson (fourth) is on injured reserve. Quarterback Tanner Lee (fifth) remains on the practice squad. Linebacker Leon Jacobs (sixth) has barely played outside special teams. And punter Logan Cooke (seventh) has failed repeatedly to flip the field when needed.Free agents Andrew Norwell, Donte Moncrief, D.J. Hayden, Austin Seferian-Jenkins and Marqise Lee have been equally disappointing.Norwell, a 2017 All-Pro guard from Carolina, was expected to bolster the offensive line and help give the Jaguars one of the best running attacks in the league. Instead DJ Chark Jersey , he looks unworthy of his five-year, $66.5 million contract.Moncrief, who signed a one-year deal worth $9.6 million, was supposed to offset the loss of physical receiver Allen Robinson. He has 29 catches for 379 yards and two scores.Hayden (toe) has missed six consecutive games, and Seferian-Jenkins (core muscle) and Lee (knee) are on injured reserve.“Playing football is easy,” defensive tackle Malik Jackson said. “Staying healthy is the hard part.”A legitimate franchise quarterback might be able to make up for all of Jacksonville’s deficiencies. But Coughlin and Caldwell decided to give Bortles a three-year, $54 million contract in February, betting that the fifth-year starter would continue developing and adding to a growing list of turnover-free games.Neither has happened, and the Jaguars are seemingly stuck with Bortles because of his $21 million contract in 2019. He has 10 touchdown passes, eight interceptions and three lost fumbles to go along with 18 sacks.Throw in a training camp fight, two weeklong suspensions, a locker room scuffle last month http://www.thejaguarslockerroom.com/authentic-a.-j.-cann-jersey , four players getting detained in London because of an unsettled nightclub tab, Jalen Ramsey’s mouth and the ultra-confident defense failing to maintain its 2017 form, and the Jaguars have been more of a farce than a force in the AFC.“The most important thing as a team is we’ve got to keep our belief strong,” defensive end Calais Campbell said. “No matter what the outside noise says or does, we just got to keep our belief strong. Five losses in this league this early sucks, but five losses throughout the season, that’s not bad at all; that’s a heck of a year.“We’ve got a lot of ball left to play. We made it real hard on ourselves, but I truly believe the guys that we have here are built to be able to do something special, even considering our current circumstance.”Marrone hopes to get Fournette, Hayden and cornerback A.J. Bouye (calf) back after the bye week. He also wouldn’t rule out staff and lineup changes.Already saddled with two division losses at home, the Jaguars have little room for error after the break if they’re able to write a feel-good ending to their “ugly story.”“When no one picks you to win and everyone thinks you are going to stink, it’s Womens Marqise Lee Jersey , ‘Let’s go out there and prove everybody wrong and play with a chip on our shoulder and go,'” Marrone said. “Then all of a sudden, when everybody is on the bandwagon, it’s the opposite. ‘Let’s prove everybody right.’ Either way, you are trying to prove right or wrong what is going on.“We just haven’t lived up to the expectations to this day.” Defensive end Yannick Ngakoue had to report to Jaguars training camp by Tuesday in order to be credited with an accrued season in 2019 and he beat the clock by a couple of days. The Jaguars announced on Sunday morning that Ngakoue has reported to the team facility, which brings his holdout to an end in time for Ngakoue to get credit for the season he needs to be on track for unrestricted free agency at the end of the season.Ngakoue’s path to free agency could be blocked by a franchise tag, although he’d surely prefer landing a long-term deal that would bump his salary to the level that the likes of Frank Clark, Dee Ford and DeMarcus Lawrence reached this offseason. All were tagged to open the offseason and Clark and Ford were traded before landing their deals, so there’s a lot to still play out for Ngakoue.Ngakoue was a 2016 third-round pick and has recorded 29.5 sacks and 10 forced fumbles through his first three seasons.

Exactly where they ranked depends on which metric you prefer, but Football Outsiders ranked them first overall, first against the pass, and second against the rush. That seems about right. In a perfect world, the Bears would ride the best defense in the NFL into the history books, remaining at the top of the NFC North for years. This would allow Matt Nagy the chance to develop Mitchell Trubisky and the offense, and all would be well. It’s probably not going to happen. The defense is likely to see a dip in performance, and that’s even assuming that they don’t lose any important players like Adrian Amos or Bryce Callahan. When that happens, some fans are likely to blame the loss of Vic Fangio and the introduction of Chuck Pagano. The thing is, it won’t be Pagano’s fault Gale Sayers Jersey , necessarily, either.Defenses are really inconsistent on a year-to-year basis. This is a major reason it makes more sense for a team to invest in offense, and it’s also one of the reasons why the Bears are fortunate in having an offensive coach at the center of their organization.Turnovers Aren’t SustainableFootball Outsiders tells us that predicting turnovers is a difficult thing. In fact, it’s really unlikely for a team to sustain turnovers on a year-to-year basis. In 2004,it was noted that teams rarely sustain a presence at the top of the turnover board from one season to the next, and that exact same trend was found to be true again in 2014. For 2018, Chicago led the league with 36 takeaways. That is really, really good. It also does very little to suggest how the next season is going to go.To pick one finding out of many, 538 reports that from 2009-2018, a team’s interception rate in the prior season had only a 2.4% share of predicting the next season’s success. What Kyle Fuller did in 2018 was great http://www.thebearslockerroom.com/authentic-mike-singletary-jersey , but there is little reason to think the Bears are going to stay at the top of the leaderboard in this regard. What this means is that Chicago’s defense--which had five more takeaways than the next-closest competitor in 2018--is unlikely to stay that dominant. This won’t be Pagano’s fault, even if fans look to find a way to blame him.Chicago Over-performed in SacksUnlike interceptions, quarterback hits do tend to be consistent on a year-to-year basis. Sacks, however, do not (and sacks only own a 3.6% share of predicting the next season’s success rate). Chicago was 8th in quarterback hits last season, with 95; that should have resulted in an expected sack rate of around 41 or 42 sacks. Instead, the Bears enjoyed 49 sacks. In other words, while quarterback hits are consistent, sacks are not. We should expect to see the same defense get slightly fewer sacks next season even if they do maintain the same rate of hitting the quarterback. That means that Chicago will likely field a top-half or even top-third defense. It does not suggest that they will be one of the very top teams in sacks, like they were in 2018.Defense as a Whole is VolatileIn general Womens Dick Butkus Jersey , defense is less reliable than offense. That’s one reason why offensive DVOA does roughly twice as good of a job of predicting the next season’s success as defensive DVOA. The top three defenses in 2016 were Denver, New York (Giants), and Arizona. In 2017, those same units ranked 10th, 18th, and 4th. In 2018, there were--in the same order--5th, 24th, and 17th. A number of factors impact defense, including rules that are slanted to favor offenses and the ability of offenses to isolate aspects of a defense that they choose to focus on. In simple terms William Perry Jersey , an offense can almost always choose who gets to be in on a play, even if that choice is filtered through the opportunities provided by a defense. On the other hand, a defense cannot be guaranteed that its best players will even have a chance to make a play on the ball. Ultimately, what this means is that when the defense of the 2019 Chicago Bears take the field, they will likely be a capable unit. They will probably be able to take over games and win a few contests almost on their own. However, it is really unlikely they will dominate games as they did in 2018, and their struggles will have a number of explanations unconnected to either Vic Fangio’s departure or Chuck Pagano’s arrival as his replacement. Packers President and CEO Mark Murphy says his team’s efforts to trade for Khalil Mack a year ago were thwarted primarily by the Raiders’ perception that the Bears would have a higher first-round draft pick.Murphy told 105.7 The Fan that the Packers made a big offer to the Raiders for Mack, but the Raiders thought the Bears would have a worse team.“Well the whole Khalil Mack thing. It’s not that we didn’t try,” Murphy said. “We were aggressive. We wanted to sign him. I think, ironically http://www.thebearslockerroom.com/authentic-mike-ditka-jersey , the Raiders took the Bears offer because they thought they would be a better draft pick.”That turned out to be an unwise calculation by the Raiders, as the Packers ended up with the 12th overall pick in the draft, while the Raiders got the 24th pick from the Bears. But Murphy thinks it might have worked out for the best, noting that if the Packers had combined the huge contract Mack was demanding with the huge contract they gave Aaron Rodgers, there wouldn’t be much cap space left for the other 51 players on the roster.“I don’t know if it is good to have the highest paid offensive player in the league, and the highest paid defensive player in the league,” Murphy said. “Is that a good way to build a team?”Whether the Packers have found a good way to build the team remains to be seen, as the results last year were not good.

ByMatthew Stanley@boltfanindenverNov 26, 2018,8:36am PSTShareTweetShareShareREPORT: Melvin Gordon to miss a few gamesJake Roth-USA TODAY SportsThe Chargers came away with the win yesterday, but at what cost? Star RB Melvin Gordon III went down with a knee injury on a trick play in the 3rd Quarter of Sunday’s game. He was receiving a pitch from fellow RB Austin Ekeler when Arizona Cardinals defensive tackle Robert Nkemdiche was being blocked to the ground and his legs hit MG3 in the knee from the side. Gordon hit the ground and was instantly grimacing in pain. He was helped to the sideline and his knee was tested by team staff. Gordon was immediately visually depressed at whatever the docs told him. A few minutes later he was shown limping to the locker room with a towel completely covering his head. The team didn’t wait for Monday to come around to get further testing done. The news is undoubtably awful, especially with Gordon having a career year and really finding his groove as a RB in this offense. However, the fact that he will likely be back before the end of the regular season, and definitely for the playoffs, is very encouraging. With star DE Joey Bosa back in the lineup, the defense should get a much needed boost and take the pressure off of the offense which will help minimize the loss of Gordon. Hopefully Philip Rivers can continue to sling the ball at an epic level like he did on Sunday as well. UPDATE: Now it’s official. Week to week evaluation on Gordon’s knee. Over the past few years, NFL teams have made a habit out of handing out new contract after new contract to quarterbacks, with in many cases the latest quarterback to sign becoming the highest-paid player in league history.Since June 2017, Derek Carr passed Andrew Luck, Matthew Stafford passed Carr Doug Flutie Jersey , Jimmy Garoppolo passed Stafford, Kirk Cousins passed Garoppolo, Matt Ryan passed Cousins, Aaron Rodgers passed Ryan, and Russell Wilson passed Rodgers, pushing the maximum from $25 million per year to $35 million annually. From those eight quarterbacks we move to another eight quarterbacks, each of whom have contracts lasting one or two years. There’s a growing sense that, at some point, a team faced with high salary demands from a quarterback will say, “No thanks,” trading the quarterback or letting him walk away via free agency. Here’s a look at the likelihood of that happening with any of eight quarterbacks whose contracts are coming up for renewal.Carson Wentz, Eagles: Howie Roseman says that the team wouldn’t hesitate to do the right deal, for both organization and player. But what’s the right deal? Wentz may eventually fall somewhere in the $10 million divide between Carr’s $25 million per year and Wilson’s $35 million. For now http://www.thechargerslockerroom.com/authentic-trevor-williams-jersey , Wentz’s value is closer to the range of $25 million to $30 million. A season that doesn’t end with a December injury and does end with a Super Bowl appearance or something closer to it puts him in the range of $30 million to $35 million. (A Super Bowl win potentially would put him north of $35 million per year.) The real question is whether Wentz will accept the best offer made before Wentz embarks on a fourth NFL season that could dramatically increase his value, if he decides to roll the dice on his ability to continue to play.Dak Prescott, Cowboys: Prescott quietly took a significant step in his development in the 2018 postseason, beating Russell Wilson in the wild-card round and then performing at a very high level against the Rams, at a time when the running game wasn’t giving Prescott the kind of support he usually has when playing well. For now, the sweet spot seems to be somewhere between $25 million and $28 million, especially since Prescott isn’t the quarterback of [insert name of not very relevant team] but is the quarterback of America’s Team. He already makes seven figures in endorsements, and that will continue as long as he quarterbacks a franchise that drives TV ratings like no other. Throw in the pathway to the broadcast booth that awaits his retirement, and Prescott would be wise to take whatever the Cowboys will offer, as long as he’s at least in the range of Garoppolo.Jameis Winston, Buccaneers: G.M. Jason Licht has made it clear that they’re taking a wait-and-see approach with Winston, whose contract expires after 2019. Some would say there’s no reason to wait, because they’ve arguably seen enough from the first overall pick in the 2015 draft. Coach Bruce Arians told ESPN during the draft that Winston needs to stop “throwing the ball to the other team.” That’s easier said than done Womens Desmond King Jersey , especially when Winston has a bad habit of trying to do more than his physical abilities will allow.Marcus Mariota, Titans: Owner Amy Adams Strunk has expressed hope that Mariota will become the team’s franchise quarterback. This implies, obviously, that he isn’t there yet. After four years as a starter, there’s a chance he may never be. Unless he’s willing to accept something closer to $20 million than $25 million, Mariota may not get another deal in Tennessee — especially if Tennessee believes it has a viable alternative elsewhere.Philip Rivers, Chargers: Rivers seems to be at peace with the possibility of having his contract expire, wherever that may lead. He said similar things four years ago, however, before signing a new deal with the Chargers. Then, the team moved to get a deal done. In 2019, will they apply a Band-Aid that keeps Rivers around while they plan for the future, or would they risk the bird in the hand as they search for a different Brandon Mebane Jersey , younger bird that may or may not be in the bush?Andy Dalton, Bengals: The least relevant team in the NFL has the league’s least relevant starting quarterback. Which means they’re a match made in purgatory. The Bengals seem to be ambivalent about keeping Dalton, and he’s a prime candidate to become a free agent after the season, to look around for viable offers elsewhere, and ultimately to take the best offer the Bengals put on the table, like his former head coach did on multiple occasions when becoming a free agent.Cam Newton, Panthers: With two years left on a deal that averages less than $21 million per year, Newton is woefully underpaid. So when does that get rectified? For starters, Newton needs to show that his shoulder has healed. Then, he needs to stay healthy, adjusting his playing style to avoid the kind of contact that results, inevitably, in more injury. He also needs to play at a high level http://www.thechargerslockerroom.com/authentic-michael-schofield-jersey , like he did when becoming the league MVP in 2015. If he can get back to that form, he should get $30 million per year, like another former league MVP who made it to a Super Bowl from the same division in which Newton plays. If Newton isn’t healthy or effective, new owner David Tepper will have a big decision to make.Jared Goff, Rams: The Rams gave up a lot to get him three years ago, but that doesn’t mean they should pay a lot to keep him. Coach Sean McVay inherited Goff, and through two years McVay has surely seen enough to know whether he wants Goff to stick around. Balanced against that is the reality that McVay may be thinking about how another quarterback may be able to better run the offense, especially in light of a season-defining failure to: (1) anticipate that Brandin Cooks would be wide-ass open in a key moment of the third quarter of the Super Bowl; (2) spot Cooks once he was wide-ass open; and (3) deliver an accurate pass that would get the ball to Cooks before he was no longer wide-ass open. That one play could eat at McVay enough during the offseason to persuade him to consider slamming an otherwise wide-open door into Goff’s ass.The unofficial over-under for quarterbacks who won’t get new contracts is 2.5. So what do you take, over or under? Chime in below.
in free agency and reaped the rewards of compensatory picks Mike Wallace Jersey , and that should happen in the 2020 NFL draft as well. With the deadline for free agent signings to affect the compensatory pick formula next year now passed, New England leads the way in compensatory picks in the 2020 draft. According to Nick Korte of OverTheCap.com, the Patriots should get two third-round picks (for losing Trey Flowers and Trent Brown) and two sixth-round picks (for Cordarrelle Patterson and Malcom Brown). No other team is set to add that much draft capital when compensatory picks are awarded.Other teams in good compensatory pick shape include the Seahawks (who should get a third-round pick for Earl Thomas, a fourth-round pick for Justin Coleman, a sixth-round pick for Shamar Stephen and a seventh-round pick for Mike Davis), the Eagles (who should get a third-round pick for Nick Foles and a fourth-round pick for Golden Tate) and the Ravens (who should get a third-round pick for Za'Darius Smith and a fourth-round pick for John Brown).Smart teams seem to be prioritizing compensatory picks, and the Patriots, Seahawks, Eagles and Ravens have been among the smartest teams in the NFL. It helps that those teams have been run by coaches and general managers with good job security, which allows them to prioritize winning in the future, rather than going for the instant gratification of signing expensive free agents. Let’s get to the Philadelphia Eagles links ...You can have one coach from any sport. That coach is ... - ESPN15. Doug Pederson, Philadelphia Eagles (age: 50). Record with team/overall career record: 23-15 (.605)Super Bowl titles: 1 (2017 Eagles). Playoff appearances: 1 in 2 seasons. ESPN Analytics r茅sum茅 grade: 2.60 (45th among active coaches). Like Francona and Maddon, Pederson’s approval rating was high among our respondents thanks to his ability to reach a seemingly unconquerable plateau for a long-starving fan base. Pederson’s place on future versions of this list has a high degree of volatility -- if he stacks titles or at least playoff appearances in Philly, his star will continue to rise.Carson Wentz gives Eagles hope for second half of 2018 season - BGNThere is one big reason to believe the Eagles can turn things around and make a playoff push. Four words: Carson MF Wentz. The Eagles’ franchise quarterback is off to a such a strong start in 2018. He’s completing 70.7% of his attempts for 1,788 yards (7.9 average), 13 touchdowns, two interceptions http://www.eagleslockerroom.com/authentic-haloti-ngata-jersey , and a 109.6 passer rating. Let’s put those numbers into historical context.Eagles Mid-Season Report Card - BGN RadioMichael Kist and Brandon Lee Gowton take the bye week at the mid-point of the season to reset and get you up-to-date on injuries and hand out their mid-season report card for the Super Bowl Champion Philadelphia Eagles, PLUS more Golden Tate thoughts and NFC East Picks!Eagles likely to play ‘the compensatory pick game’ (again) next offseason - PhillyVoiceLB Jordan Hicks: If there’s a player currently slated to become a free agent that the Eagles would like to keep above all others, it would probably be Hicks, provided he stays healthy for the entirety of the 2018 season. To date, Hicks has not yet missed a snap this season, and while he hasn’t been the playmaker he was early in his career, I believe the team thinks he still possesses that kind of ability.NFL Midseason Power Rankings: The Rams Aren’t Flawless, but They’re Still No. 1 - The Ringer8. Philadelphia Eagles (4-4). Ranking the Eagles this high is more about lingering respect than their play over the first half of the season, but I’m still not ready to write the champs off. Carson Wentz has been exceptional in his past few outings, and the Eagles’ passing game should only get better with the addition of Golden Tate. A pass-catching group of Tate, Alshon Jeffery, Nelson Agholor, Zach Ertz, and Dallas Goedert has the potential to be a nightmare for opposing defenses. Unfortunately, the Eagles defense has also been a nightmare at times this season. Philadelphia failed to find any cornerback help at the trade deadline, so the team will field the same uninspiring group on the back end for the second half of the season. This defense may never come around, but I’m still willing to bet on this loaded roster beating out the other teams in the NFC East.All-22: How the Eagles will deploy Golden Tate in Doug Pederson’s offense - The AthleticI wouldn’t expect Tate to put up monster numbers in Philadelphia with a trade this late in the season Womens Nate Gerry Jersey , but he could be one of the best “gadget” players in the league. The Lions offense doesn’t have a lot of variety. They utilize a lot of straight drop-back plays. Pederson has proven that he can be one of the more creative play designers in the league and could unlock some of Tate’s potential. It’ll be interesting to see how Pederson deploys his new weapon. Tate isn’t going to change the dynamic of this offense, but he certainly adds a new dimension that could be dangerous down the road if the Eagles get into the playoffs.Carson Wentz at Eagles bye week: Birds’ QB a human stat machine - NBCSPCarson Wentz is doing things no quarterback has ever done. And he’s doing it coming off an ACL injury that ended his 2017 season, eliminated his 2018 preseason and kept him out of the first two games of the year. Wentz goes into the bye week having completed 71 percent of his passes for 1,788 yards with 13 touchdowns, two interceptions and a 109.6 passer rating in his six starts. The dude is a human stat machine, so let’s take a look at the numbers!Didinger: The One Move Joe Kuharich Got Right - PE.comMention the name Joe Kuharich to most Eagles fans and you’ll get a roll of the eyes, maybe even a groan. Kuharich was the Eagles’ head coach and general manager from 1964 through 1968, one of the bleakest periods in the team’s history. It ended with the Philly fans famously chanting “Joe Must Go” and, yes, throwing snowballs at Santa Claus. In his role as general manager, Kuharich made some awful trades, including dealing away future Hall of Famers Sonny Jurgensen and Tommy McDonald as well as Pro Bowl Eagles Timmy Brown, Maxie Baughan, and Irv Cross. So when he traded for a 34-year-old running back named Ollie Matson, most Eagles fans assumed it was another Kuharich blunder.Win predictions for all 32 NFL teams heading into Week 9 - PFFWins: 8.6. The Phillies most important off-season in recent history is now here - The Good PhightIt’s finally here. Folks, we’ve been looking forward to 5pm on Saturday, November 3rd for a long time. That is the time players like Manny Machado, Bryce Harper, Josh Donaldson, Patrick Corbin, Craig Kimbrel and a slew of others hit the open market, and players on teams looking to re-tool, re-load, or rebuild, are potentially made available in trades. The Phillies have long been rumored to have interest in Harper or Machado, and it is highly likely the team will pursue at least one, if not both. Kubiak didn’t end up getting the full offensive coordinator position for the Broncos, so he’s been looking elsewhere. It seems Elway and the Broncos had a change of heart however, as he will interview with the Jaguars on Tuesday. Kubiak was the long time offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach for the Broncos while Elway was a player from 1995 through 2005. He then moved on to be the head coach of the Houston Texans for eight seasons with an overall record of 61-64 and 2-2 in the playoffs. After a year as the offensive coordinator for the Baltimore Ravenshe went back to the Denver Broncos as their head coach for two seasons, winning Super Bow 50, and retiredafter a 9-7 finish in 2016. Recently he signed on as a senior personnel adviser for the Broncos, though it seems he still has the coaching itch. Josh McCown was talking to reporters when Alshon Jeffery stepped up on a chair, hit record on his phone and asked the newest Philadelphia Eagles quarterback a question."How's No. 17 as a basketball player?" Jeffery inquired.McCown Donte Moncrief Jersey , who played a lot of hoops with Jeffery when they were teammates on the Chicago Bears, gave his best evaluation."He's not bad. He's got some skills, but I can lock him down if it was one-on-one," McCown replied, adding he chose to wear No. 18 on the Eagles so he could stand next to Jeffery in team pictures. The 40-year-old McCown was coaching his son's high school football team and preparing for a new career as an NFL analyst on ESPN when the Eagles called Friday with an offer he couldn't turn down. He signed a $2 million, one-year deal that could be worth up to $5.4 million.McCown provides insurance behind Carson Wentz, who has finished the past two seasons on the sideline because of injuries. The Eagles already lost two quarterbacks in the first two preseason games. Nate Sudfeld broke his left wrist and is expected to return in September. Cody Kessler left Thursday night's game with a head injury. Rookie Clayton Thorson was the only healthy quarterback on the roster behind Wentz before McCown ended his brief retirement."It was good for me to spend a great amount of time with my family and go through an offseason where I wasn't traveling and having to go back and forth from a city doing OTAs and stuff like that, so that was beneficial for me," McCown said Sunday. "There were only a certain number of teams I think I would be interested in and that met the criteria I talked about, and this was certainly one of them. It was cool when this opportunity came up and we started to talk about it as a family. They were excited http://www.thejaguarslockerroom.com/authentic-a.j.-bouye-jersey , and they were like, 'Man, you gotta go.'"McCown was 23-53 as a starter, including 5-11 with the New York Jets over the past two seasons. He has completed 60.2% of his passes, has thrown 98 touchdowns and 82 interceptions and has a 79.7 passer rating.McCown's best season came in 2013 with Chicago. He was 3-2 as a starter and completed 66.5% of his passes for 1,829 yards, 13 TDs and only one pick with a passer rating of 109. Jeffery also had his best season that year, catching 89 passes for 1,421 yards and seven TDs.Jeffery said McCown was the first player to call him after the Bears drafted him and the two formed a bond off the field on the basketball court."Great player, great human being Womens Leonard Fournette Jersey , great all-around person," Jeffery said. "Josh can hoop, too."Nick Foles backed up Wentz the past two years and led the Eagles to four playoff wins, including the franchise's first Super Bowl title following the 2017 season. But the 2018 Super Bowl MVP left for Jacksonville in free agency.McCown is entering his 18th season with his 11th team. Eagles coach Doug Pederson isn't ready to name his backup and his No. 3 quarterback yet. Sudfeld has thrown 25 passes in the regular season but showed promise. Kessler was 2-10 as a starter for Cleveland and Jacksonville over the past three seasons."Listen, he's a veteran quarterback," Pederson said. "He's been around. He's seen a lot. He's a guy that just can add a lot of knowledge and depth in that room. Obviously, he played this position and started a ton of games in this league. Excited to get him going and get him up to speed."Asked if the team considered Colin Kaepernick for the backup role, Pederson said: "We consider everybody and do what's best for the Eagles."

The former Philadelphia Eagles quarterback touched on a number of NFL topics but most interestingly he discussed thoughts on his former team and their quarterback situation with Carson Wentz. McNabb believes the pressure is on Wentz to at least take the Eagles to the NFC Championship Game before 2021: McNabb has never come off as a huge Wentz fan. Back in 2016, he said the Eagles were “dumb” to trade up for him. During an old interview with BGN Radio, McNabb noted how Eagles fans at the 2017 NFL Draft in Philadelphia were much more excited to see Wentz than him.McNabb isn’t wrong to suggest there’s a lot of pressure on Wentz in 2019 and moving forward. Wentz needs to stay healthy and lead his team to success. But, barring something unexpected, it doesn’t seem very likely the Eagles will be moving on from Wentz in just a couple seasons from now. He doesn’t appear to be on a short leash. Jeffrey Lurie and Howie Roseman have been very forthright about their intentions to sign Wentz to a long-term deal. Whether that contract comes this year or next year remains to be seen, but it feels like it’s a matter of “when” and not “if.”Such a contract could potentially tie Wentz to the Eagles until, say, 2023 or so. Wentz figures to have ample opportunity to prove himself once again. Here’s hoping he does just that. and we still don’t anything about the Chicago Bears offense. We heard them talk about bread and butter plays during the offseason http://www.thebearslockerroom.com/authentic-allen-robinson-jersey , but where have they been? What does this team do well? What’s their identity? Their running game is anemic at just 80.6 yards per game (26th in the NFL) and 3.4 yards per carry (29th), but the passing game is even worse at a pathetic 185.4 yards per game (30th), and 6.1 yards per attempt (30th). The Bears are one of three teams that have yet to have a pass play of over forty yards, and their eleven pass plays over twenty yards is fifth worst in the NFL.Against the Oakland Raiders their offense only managed 42 yards rushing and 194 yards passing, and that total of 236 yards is a season low. In fact, it’s the second lowest total in the Matt Nagy era. We’ve yet to see that year two (Version 202) offensive jump, and if they can’t get their offensive line issues figured out, it’s possible we never will. With as bad as the Bears’ offense played, they still had a shot at the win, but it was a three phase fourth quarter collapse that doomed them. The special teams failed on consecutive snaps Womens Chase Daniel Jersey , the defense couldn’t get a stop, and the offense turned it over. Just awful. The Raiders racked up 398 yards of total offense, converted half of their third down tries (6 of 12), and won the time of possession by more than nine minutes. The Bears did “lead” in one all important category however, as they had 10 penalties for 75 yards to only 6 for 69 yards for Oakland. But now let’s take a closer look at the playing time break downs for the Bears, and also some individual stats.OFFENSEChase Daniel was sacked 4 times and he threw 2 interceptions. He went 22 of 30 for 231 yards, 2 touchdowns and a passer rating of 89.7 His top target was Allen Robinson II who snagged 7 of the 8 balls thrown his way for 97 yards and 2 TDs.Chicago’s leading rusher was David Montgomery with a paltry 25 yards on 11 carries. He added 1 reception for 11 yards. Tarik Cohen had 4 runs for 10 yards, 6 catches for 39 yards, and 2 punt returns for 72 yards (with a long of 71).Anthony Miller had his biggest day of the season with 4 receptions for 52 yards, and he also played his highest percentage of snaps this year. It was Javon Wims that benefited again from the absence of Taylor Gabriel playing 94% of the snaps Bennie Fowler III Jersey , but he only managed to see one target. Tight end Adam Shaheen, who is healthy, only played 12 snaps. The Raider defense had 6 tackles for loss and 6 quarterback hits.Charles Leno Jr. had three more penalties and he leads the NFL with eight. DEFENSEChicago’s ferocious pass rush was negated by Oakland’s quick passing game plan and their ability to run at will. The Raiders had 169 yards rushing. they weren’t sacked at all, and quarterback Derek Carr was only hit once. Khalil Mack had that lone QBH ti go along with 3 tackles and a fumble recovery.Danny Trevathan led the Bears with 11 tackles and Roquan Smith had 9. The Bear front was pushed around all afternoon and they didn’t record a single tackle for loss. With the early injury to Akiem Hicks, the Bears seemed content to play more nickle than they probably should have, with Buster Skrine at 60% of the snaps. With Oakland playing so much two tight end and fullback offense, I thought they’d stick with more base. SPECIAL TEAMS**The above image has players that only played in the third phase.Patrick O’Donnell continued his good punting with 2 more placed inside the 20 and a 40 yard net average. He also continued booming kicks for touchbacks with three. The Bears allowed a 52 yard kickoff return late in the game after a penalty move their kickoff back,Eddy Pineiro made all three of his extra points.Cordarrelle Patterson had 3 kick returns for 93 yards. All statistics and snap counts are taken directly from the NFL’s Game Statistic and Information System, as are the accompanying pictures. To check out the full box score I find that ESPN has an easy to navigate site.
