I’ve been working towards my dream daily and that’s a wonderful feeling. I’ve been going through this process at the Mamba Sports Academy. It’s been 8 or 9 very intense weeks of training. We’re still working hard. I’m trying to make my dreams come true. I’m very blessed. I’ve been working alongside some very high caliber players and I’m thankful for that. It’s definitely been a blessing.JM: Who are some of the guys you’re working out with?LW: I’ve been working out with Dwyane Haskins, Quinnen Williams, Greedy Williams, Kelvin Harmon, Stanley Morgan Jr. and a bunch of other guys that are considered high caliber players. Being able to work out with them and matchingtheir intensity has been great for me. It’s been a blessing to be around those guys.JM: How important was your pro day considering you weren’t at the combine?LW: It was a big day for me. It was the biggest job interview of my life. I did everything I could to put on a great performance. I was looking forward to the opportunity to show the NFL teams some things they perhaps hadn’t seen me do on tape. I think I surprised a lot of people with my movement skills. I think I showed the things they wanted to see from me. I didn’t go into it stressed. I’ve been playing football since I was 5 years old. It was a fun day. I think I put on a show.JM: What’s your favorite part about playing defensive back?LW: I love two things specifically about playing defensive back. I love being able to play multiple roles. I’ve put that on tape. I played both free and strong safety last year. I spent some time playing at the nickel spot as well. That versatility is key. I also love being the quarterback of the defense. I felt like our defense wasn’t like any other in the nation. The safeties were responsible for giving the calls out to the rest of the defense. I’m used to having that responsibility on my shoulders.I had to make sure people were in the right positions. I took great pride in that. I had to put guys in the right position to make plays. I learned a lot from doing that.JM: Who are some of the best offensive players or wide receivers you’ve ever competed against?LW: There’s so many great offensive players in the SEC. I was able to play against some great players. Emanuel Hall from Missouri is a great receiver. In fact, Drew Lock of Missouri is a great quarterback as well. I played against all of those receivers at Ole Miss. DaMarkus Lodge, D.K. Metcalf wasn’t healthy when we played against them this year but I did play against him last year. A.J. Brown is the other receiver of course. I thank the SEC for affording me that opportunity to play against some of the best talent in the country.JM: Your dad passed away unexpectedly in November and he seemed like a great man. He was someone who was very generous and was well known to feed the homeless. How are you dealing with that as you go through the most important time of your life? Have you found a way to turn into some positive energy?LW: I definitely have. I’m thinking about the great memories he left us with. He left a lot of great memories. My dad never shied away from telling me how much he loved me and how proud he was of me. He always spoke it into existence that I was going to play in the NFL some day. It’s unfortunate that he won’t be physically present to see it but I’m living for him and I’ll always cherish the great memories I have of him. I’m living how he taught us was right. I’m giving back to the less fortunate. That was always very important to him. I’m proud of everything that I do as a man and I’m not afraid to tell people that I love them. He taught me all of those things. I wear my heart on my sleeve and I work incredibly hard for the things I want in life. Living with these things is what makes dealing with his passing a little bit easier.JM: That’s incredible. I know you’re from Los Angeles, but with all of this going on Bennie Logan Jersey , how much would it mean for you to hear your name called during draft weekend just down the street from where you played at?LW: It would definitely mean a lot. I love the city of Nashville. How coincidental that I’m a guy from Los Angeles who came out to Nashville to play college ball and the draft is in Nashville the year that I’m eligible. That’s crazy. It’s a great set up and a wonderful feeling. Nashville has been great to me. To get drafted in Nashville would be a dream come true. Nashville has helped me grow and develop as a man. I found my own identity out here and I was alone for the first time in my life. This city has helped me become the man that I am today. Being drafted in Nashville would be a wonderful feeling.JM: That’s some amazing stuff. Is there an NFL quarterback you’d love to intercept?LW: Tom Brady. I would have to go after the big dog (laughs). With him being the GOAT, I would love to pick him off or any quarterback of his caliber really.JM: I’ve heard that you love video games. What are some of your favorites?LW: I’m more of an NBA 2K player than anything. I play some Madden as well. I just got a Switch and I’m into the old school Super Mario games. I play some Mortal Kombat and Call of Duty as well. I play a wide variety of games.JM: Who do you use on Madden?LW: I use a bunch of different teams. I like to play the match-up game. I’ll wait to see who my opponent chooses and then I‘ll pick a team based off of his selection. I’m a Los Angeles kid so I usually use the Rams or the Chargers.JM: Fair enough. In closing LaDarius, why should an NFL team use one of their draft picks on LaDarius Wiley?LW: Draft picks are investments and I look at myself as a growing and developing investment. I still see myself growing as a leader and as a player. My best football is yet to come. My best days are ahead of me. I’ve grown as a leader and I’m a smart football player. I’m always around the ball. I’m a playmaker and that’s what they’re gonna get outta me. I can play multiple positions. I can play special teams as well. I’m just gonna get after it and make sure that I’m competing for a job. Running back Leonard Fournette missed last Sunday’s win over the Patriots with a hamstring injury and it looks like he’ll be out again against the Titans.According to multiple reports, the Jaguars are set to play without Fournette for the second straight weekend. T.J. Yeldon, who was also listed as questionable, is expected to play and Corey Grant will also be part of the backfield mix for the Jaguars.Jacksonville’s offense didn’t miss Fournette last Sunday as Blake Bortles threw four touchdown passes in a 31-20 win over the Patriots. Yeldon and Grant ran 14 times for 71 yards. The Jaguars also listed cornerback Jalen Ramsey as questionable due to an ankle injury, but Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that he is expected to play. The Titans are set to start Blaine Gabbert at quarterback for the second straight week as Marcus Mariota is still dealing with a right elbow injury.

Like Davis and Bunting, Dean, who stands at 6-foot-1 and weighs in at 206 pounds, fits what defensive coordinator Todd Bowles wants in a cornerback. The Bucs had a lot of holes heading into this year’s draft, but it looks like they think the biggest issue is the secondary. The team’s pass defense has been atrocious in the last few years, so adding Bunting and Dean is obviously the front office’s way of addressing that. Here, we have three things you should know about new Bucs corner Jamel Dean.Dean had a crazy strong athletic career at Cocoa High SchoolMost draft picks are able to say that they were studs on their high school teams, but that doesn’t make it any less impressive that Dean played both ways at Cocoa High School AND ran track. According to his Auburn player profile, he had 975 offensive yards, with 22 receptions and 15 touchdowns as a senior at Cocoa. On top of that, he was a productive corner, totaling seven pass breakups. Dean was a two-time first-team all-state pick for Class 4A, earned the 2014 Brevard County player of the year award and was named the District 12 MVP by the Florida Athletic Coaches Association. 247Sports ranked him as the No. 32 cornerback prospect in the country, and he was also rated as a top-10 corner in the state of Florida. That’s not a bad high school football career. But in addition to earning attention on the football field, he also showcased his blazing speed on the track team. That speed was further showcased at the NFL Scouting Combine, where he ran a 4.3-second 40-yard dash. That was the second-fastest time of any player at the 2019 combine. There was a time when Dean thought his football career was overAccording to the Montgomery Advertiser, Dean almost didn’t get a chance to have the successful college football career that he ended up having at Auburn. He tore his ACL and meniscus as a senior in high school. He went ahead and went to Ohio State, where he had already accepted a scholarship, but team doctors said he was medically ineligible. Dr. James Andrews then said Dean was having issues strengthening the quad muscles in his leg. From there, he ended up transferring to Auburn. Another injury in 2016 set him back even further, but he kept pushing.Dean eventually put the injury issues behind him. He went to play 26 games in two years (2017 and 2018) with the Tigers, totaling 73 tackles (44 solo), one sack Terry Beckner Tampa Bay Buccaneers Jersey , two interceptions and 19 passes defended. He allowed just 16 receptions on 42 targets in coverage, which helped him earn a solid 80.8 grade from Pro Football Focus. His size, speed and physicality make him a nice piece for Todd Bowles’ defense, and it’s clear that the team didn’t have much of a problem with his multiple knee surgeries. Even with his injury history, Tampa Bay liked him enough to make him their first of two 2019 third-round picks — allowing him to become the third Auburn product on the roster (Peyton Barber and Carlton Davis are the other two). Dean is a smart, high-character guyDean’s Auburn player profile notes that he graduated from Cocoa High School with a 3.8 GPA. He only continued to impress in the classroom throughout college, as he earned a spot on the SEC Academic Honor Roll in both 2017 and 2018. In 2017, he was an “Academic Top Tiger.”Dean has earned rave reviews from those who have been around him — not only as a football player and scholar, but also as a man. In an article from the Montgomery Advertiser, former Auburn defensive backs coach Greg Brown, who is now with Purdue, had this to say about Dean:Dean’s head coach, Gus Malzahn, was just as complimentary of him:The Bucs appear to be stocking up on tall, physical, high-character corners with the additions of Sean Bunting and Jamel Dean. With the state of their pass coverage and overall defense in the last few years, that can’t be a bad thing. You can find Jamel Dean on Twitter @jmd0074. Take some time to congratulate him and welcome him to Tampa Bay. The NFL has admitted that the official who threw a flag on a hit to the head taken by Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield made the right call, and should not have been overruled by the other officials. In his weekly video, NFL head of officiating Al Riveron showed the hit from Buccaneers safety Jordan Whitehead. Riveron said the hit actually should have been flagged for two reasons.“We had a flag on this play and we incorrectly picked it up after we had a conference by the officials,” Riveron said. “He lowers his head to initiate contact, and he does make contact, so that right there is a foul in itself. No. 2, as we can see, the quarterback starts to slide, and even though he slides late, he is still afforded protection from forcible contact to the neck and head area. And there is your contact, so that is a foul for two reasons. No. 1, lowering your head to initiate contact. And No. 2, forcible contact to a quarterback who has given himself up in the head or neck area.”It’s unclear what was said in the conference by the officials that resulted in a hit that should have been two penalties being ruled no penalty at all. But the officials botched this one.

Ikaros was kind enough to do the nuggets for this morning and it’s silly to waste this!John Lynch held a pre-draft press conference where he addressed a wide range of topics from the passing of area scout Reggie Cobb to learning from mistakes like the drafting of Reuben Foster and Joe Williams. One thing that was asked during the press conference is when Robbie Gould is expected to report. In short, John Lynch doesn’t know. He just knows that Gould will be there for the season opener. While the lack of a return date does make one worry, I think you have to consider Gould’s veteran status and the trust that the 49ers have in him to be ready to step in whenever it is that he does show up.https://www.sfchronicle.com/49ers/articl...4.php?psid=rzIp | Eric Branch, San Francisco Chroniclehttps://www.nbcsports.com/bayar...l-return-kicker | Matt Maiocco, NBC SportsAnother topic that was brought up is what went into scouting Nick Bosa, specifically referencing things done on social media. (AP) — Long before Nick Mullens took the field as an NFL quarterback, he prepared for the moment he’d play in a loud road stadium by downloading crowd noise and blaring it on his headphones as he practiced calling out plays in his apartment. That preparation will be put to the test this week when Mullens makes his second career road start for the San Francisco 49ers at Seattle in front of the loudest road crowd in the league.“I’ve played in a lot of the most prominent stadiums in the country as far as college football goes,” said Mullens, who pointed to games in college at Nebraska, Alabama and LSU as the most challenging crowds he’s faced.“Obviously, it has the reputation that it has in CenturyLink, and it’s going to be cool to play there.”Mullens’ first road start for the 49ers (2-9) wasn’t a successful one. He went 18 for 32 for 221 yards with one touchdown, two interceptions and four sacks in a 27-9 loss to Tampa Bay last week. There were a handful of issues with hearing the play call from coach Kyle Shanahan in his helmet headset and Mullens had to rush to the sideline once to get the play and burn two timeouts on other occasions.Mullens had his lowest marks in yardage Ahkello Witherspoon Jersey , completion percentage and passer rating out of his three career starts as the Niners struggled to get much of anything going against a defense that has been the worst in the league at defending against the pass.“It was very frustrating,” Mullens said. “We just never got on a rhythm. But, you watch the film and you see where you can improve and that’s why we’re so excited about this week.”Mullens had a record-setting debut against Oakland when he joined Hall of Famers Jim Kelly and Fran Tarkenton as the only players with at least 250 yards passing, three touchdown passes and no interceptions in their first career game. He also had the most efficient debut since the merger for a player with at least 20 attempts, posting a 151.9 rating in the 34-3 win.He followed that up by throwing four interceptions and two touchdowns in losses to the Giants and Tampa Bay and now must face a much more difficult defense and a more challenging environment in Seattle.“I think Nick handles pressure pretty well,” Shanahan said. “He handled it well in Tampa. We just didn’t play very good. So, there’s a difference in that. Nick’s been the same guy since he’s been here. I don’t think he’s going to freak out just because it’s loud. Whether you do good or bad doesn’t mean that you freaked out or you were poised. It’s harder. It’ll be more of a challenge. We’ll practice all week at it. The better he plays, the better we play around him, the easier the challenge will be.”NOTES: WR Marquise Goodwin remains away from the team to tend to an undisclosed personal matter. … C Weston Richburg (knee) and T Joe Staley (veteran) also missed practice, while DB D.J. Reed (foot) will miss the game this week.

Fortunately..."The Seattle Seahawks entered the offseason with their biggest need appearing opposite Frank Clark; free agency is firmly in the rear view mirror, and the need for a second EDGE remains. Fortunately for Seattle, the 2019 NFL Draft is rich in pass rushers, both with elite talent at the top and Seahawk-y prospects on the draft’s second and third days.Over the next week, we’ll be going through Seattle’s positions of need and finding an ideal (and realistic) fit for the Seahawks on all three days of the draft, beginning with the glaring hole at EDGE. Day 1 - Rashan Gary, MichiganWhen the pre-draft process began in January, either Florida State’s Brian Burns or Mississippi State’s Montez Sweat would have appeared here. Since then, both players have risen up boards as a result of their outstanding athletic testing. Perhaps one remains at 1.21; it’s unlikely Seattle remains there, though. Gary is a similar athlete (95th percentile) to Burns (95th) and Sweat (97th), but that part of his process was expected. Gary was an incredibly highly touted five-star recruit and lived off that reputation throughout his career at Michigan. The technical side of his game failed to develop, as he would go on to post just 9.5 sacks and 23 tackles for loss over three seasons for the Wolverines. Even worse, Gary’s junior season in 2018 saw him regress with 3.5 sacks, 6.5 tackles for loss and 24 pressures. With the physical tools that will make Pete Carroll drool, Gary is a legitimate option for the Seahawks towards the end of round one. He checks all of Seattle’s athletic thresholds at EDGE, and just needs his game to be refined; if a team can unlock his potential, they could have a perennial Pro-Bowler on their hands. Day 2 - Ben Banogu, TCUIf you asked me right now who I believe will be the Seahawks’ first pick in the 2019 NFL Draft, Banogu would be my pick. Like Gary, he checks all of Seattle’s athletic boxes, and is actually an ever better athlete (97th percentile) than Gary. Not only is Banogu incredibly explosive, his short shuttle—of great importance to the Seahawks—was fourth among EDGEs at the Scouting Combine. Banogu combines explosiveness, agility and production, with 17 sacks, 34.5 tackles for loss and 109 pressures in two seasons at TCU.Putting on our draft conspiracy hat, we have reason to believe Seattle is indeed interested in Banogu. They’ve shown interest in Banogu’s teammate and fellow edge rusher L.J. Collier numerous times—at his pro day, at the combine and a top-30 visit—despite Collier being remarkably outside their mold. The Seahawks apparent interest in Collier is not them ignoring the guidelines they’ve followed for nearly a decade; it’s just standard draft season operating. On draft weekend it will be Banogu, not Collier, who they circle back to. Day 3 - Maxx Crosby, Eastern MichiganAs far as day three projects go, Crosby is as intriguing as they come. He’s an 88th percentile athlete who tested as well in explosiveness (broad jump 92nd percentile Tre Flowers Jersey , vertical jump 90th percentile) as he did in agility (three cone 95th percentile, short shuttle 96th percentile). His 4.13 second short shuttle was second among EDGEs at the combine and like Banogu, Crosby was a productive two year starter with 18.5 sacks and 35.5 tackles for loss. (Crosby also posted 5.5 tackles for loss and 1.5 sacks as a bit-player as a redshirt freshman.)Hurting Crosby’s stock is his level of competition and more importantly, his play strength. It looks as though Crosby is yet to fill out his frame at nearly 6-foot-5 and 255 pounds. A best case scenario for Crosby may be something similar to Jacob Martin; a rotational rusher who can devastate tackles with his flexibility and get off, but mostly limited to passing downs. (Though it’s worth noting that Crosby’s run defense did grade out well per Pro Football Focus.) The NFL demands a deep rotation along the defensive line, and playing at a home stadium like CenturyLink could mean the Seahawks and Crosby are an ideal fit. Regardless of how Seattle moves around the 2019 NFL Draft, trading back (and maybe even up!) as they see fit, they should have several chances to acquire impact EDGEs on all three days of the draft. SUNRISE Andrew Shaw Jersey , Fla. (AP) — New York Rangers coach David Quinn didn’t like the way his team played after the first period, but post-regulation heroics helped the club break its three-game losing streak.Kevin Hayes had the game-deciding goal in the third round of the shootout after Henrik Lundqvist made a couple of big saves in the overtime, and the Rangers beat the Florida Panthers 5-4 on Saturday night. After Mika Zibanejad and Kevin Shattenkirk scored in the shootout for New York and Jonathan Huberdeau tallied for Florida, Hayes beat goalie Roberto Luongo to end it.New York squandered three leads before sweeping the season series 3-0 from the Panthers.“We seem to be a little fragile mentally, and I was really anxious to see how we were going to respond to our good first period and we never gave ourselves a chance — we took a bad penalty, they score early in the period and you could just sense it on the bench,” Quinn said. “We gotta get out of that rut.”Zibanejad, Vladislav Namestnikov, Matt Beleskey and Fredric Claesson scored goals, and Hayes had a pair of assists for the Rangers, who improved to 5-1 in shootouts.Lundqvist had 27 saves, and Luongo finished with 22. Lundqvist stopped the Panthers’ first attempt in the shootout, by Aleksander Barkov.Lundqvist also denied Huberdeau on a breakaway after the Florida winger stole the puck from Hayes, and Lundqvist was strong the entire overtime.“It felt, going into overtime, we needed this extra point no matter what,” Lundqvist said. “I thought we played really well. I made two mistakes http://www.officialcanadiensprostore.com/authentic-adidas-antti-niemi-jersey , two goals.”Keith Yandle, Huberdeau, Aaron Ekblad and Barkov had goals for the Panthers, who finished 3-2-3 on their eight-game homestand. Huberdeau added a pair of assists.Zibanejad grabbed a rebound off a long shot by Hayes, who moved to the top line’s right wing, and slid it past Luongo at 3:37 of the first period for his ninth goal. With New York on the penalty kill late in the period, Hayes won a race to the puck near the end boards and fed Namestnikov, who slipped in the short-handed goal, his third tally this season, at 18:10.“It’s another lesson to be learned,” Florida coach Bob Boughner said. “We talked about all day was starting well against these guys. We just didn’t have enough intensity and urgency at the beginning of the game.”Yandle blasted in a power-play goal 57 seconds into the second period for his fifth, and Huberdeau scored his ninth goal off a turnover in the neutral zone at 4:14 to tie it at 2.Beleskey deflected in Brady Skjei’s shot for his first Rangers goal at 6:28 for a 3-2 lead, but Ekblad roofed his seventh goal over a lunging Lundqvist at 18:20 as the period ended tied at 3.Claesson scored his second goal at 1:32 of the third period when he whistled in a shot from the left circle for a 4-3 lead, but Barkov’s 11th tally on the power play at 10:51 evened it at 4.NOTES: The game featured two goaltenders inside the top 10 in career wins — Luongo in fourth (476) and Lundqvist in seventh (440). PITTSBURGH (AP) — Pittsburgh Penguins goalie Matt Murray tries to keep it simple. Show up for work. Try to improve a little bit each day. Don’t get too high or too low.Yes, it’s boring. It’s also highly effective for a player who has regained his confidence and swagger just in time to re-establish his team as one of the league’s best.Murray stopped 36 shots in a 5-1 victory over Florida on Tuesday night to improve to 8-0 since returning from a lower-body injury. Shaky and uncertain in October and November, the 24-year-old has responded with the arguably the best stretch of his career, heady territory considering he already has a pair of Stanley Cup rings.Murray has a 1.24 goals-against average and a .966 save percentage during the unbeaten run that began on Dec. 15. While occasionally sloppy play by his teammates kept Murray plenty busy against the Panthers, he hardly appeared bothered while pushing the Penguins to their ninth win in their last 10 games.“It’d be nice to have a few more games where you don’t give them that many grade-A chances where guys are in all alone and forcing him to make the saves he had to make consistently,” said Penguins captain Sidney Crosby, who picked up his 20th goal of the season. “But it was one of those games he played great again.”It was a level of play Murray lacked during the opening two months. He was 4-5-1 with a 4.08 goals against in his first 11 appearances before a lingering lower-body injury sent him to injured reserve in mid-November. Casey DeSmith played solidly in Murray’s place and the Penguins didn’t exactly rush Murray back into net once he was medically cleared.Yet any notion of a goaltending controversy has evaporated. Murray has reasserted himself as the starter. While the Panthers controlled play for long stretches, Murray kept them at bay to keep Florida winless in its last seven trips to Pittsburgh.“Give their goalie credit, he played really well,” Panthers coach Bob Boughner said. “Ours didn’t.”Florida’s Roberto Luongo surrendered goals to Tanner Pearson and Bryan Rust in the first game’s first 3:03 was pulled after giving up four goals over the first 29 minutes, including short-handed scores by Rust and Riley Sheahan in the second that pushed Pittsburgh’s advantage to 4-0. Luongo finished with 12 saves on 16 shots before being removed in favor of James Reimer.Aaron Ekblad’s goal late in the second period gave him 62 in his career — the most ever by a Florida defenseman — but the Panthers never recovered from the early deficit.“Obviously, we try to prepare as best as we possibly can,” Ekblad said. “It’s on us as the leadership group to get the room ready, have the room prepared to play each night. We haven’t done that. It’s been guys, including myself, in the leadership group that haven’t got the job done early in games.”The Penguins saw their season-high eight-game winning streak end Sunday night against Chicago but wasted little time getting back on track.Pearson took a slick pass off the boards by Marcus Pettersson and raced down the right side before slipping the puck between Luongo’s legs 1:29 into the game. Rust doubled the lead 94 seconds later Carey Price Jersey , collecting a feed from Jake Guentzel in front of Luongo and deking by the goaltender before tumbling into the net.The Panthers pressed in an effort to draw even but Murray kept Pittsburgh’s lead intact, including a stop on a short-handed breakaway by Colton Sceviour near the end of a busy first period in which Murray faced 15 shots.“If a team gets chances on our power play it’s usually a turnover, 2-on-1, something like that, so it happens. You’ve got to be ready for that,” Murray said. While Pittsburgh’s electric power play looked listless, the penalty killers made up for it. Matt Cullen and Rust broke in 2-on-2, a sequence that ended with Cullen hitting Rust in front of the net and Rust beating Luongo to make it 3-0 just 3:04 into the second. Sheahan pushed it to 4-0 less than six minutes later when he stripped the puck from Florida’s Keith Yandle, skated high into the Florida zone and whipped a wrist shot from the slot over Luongo’s glove for Pittsburgh’s 10th short-handed goal of the season.“I think we’re trying to skate a little bit more, trying to be a little bit more aggressive up ice,” Rust said. “And I guess (the goals) are just a product of that.”NOTES: The last time the Penguins had multiple short-handed goals in a game was on March 29, 2016 against Buffalo. … Florida fell to 9-11-2 on the road. … Pittsburgh F Patric Hornqvist left in the first period and did not return after getting hit with a puck. … Crosby has 20 goals in 12 seasons, tying a franchise record set held by team owner and Hall of Famer Mario Lemieux. … Both teams went 0 for 4 on the power play.UP NEXTPanthers: Continue a five-game road swing on Thursday in Edmonton.Penguins: Begin a five-game West Coast trip on Friday in Anaheim.
PHILADELPHIA (AP) Flyers fans spent the final minutes of another empty season doing what boorish fans do with elimination on deck. They chucked beer cans and threw trash and hats and whatever objects were within reach onto the ice. Flyers public address announcer Lou Nolan admonished fans – just as he had two years earlier when giveaway bracelets were hurled on the ice – but there was little anyone could do to stop them. This is how the season ends in Philly Tampa Bay Lightning T-Shirts Authentic , not with a Stanley Cup hoisted in a championship celebration, but with a call for the cleaning crew to pick up the mess. The Eagles, Phillies and 76ers have all won championships – along with Villanova, the Arena Football League’s Soul, and Philly horse Smarty Jones – since the Flyers last won back-to-back Cups in 1974 and 1975.The only banners raised to the rafters are for retired numbers or a Hall of Fame entry. So it goes for the orange-and-black, trudging along without a Process or parade. The Flyers’ season ended with an 8-5 loss in Game 6 to the Pittsburgh Penguins on Sunday in the opening round of the Eastern Conference playoffs. The Flyers haven’t reached the second round since 2012 and haven’t played in the Cup finals since 2010. Under third-year coach Dave Hakstol, this season’s berth was considered a mild surprise, especially when the team lost 10 straight games in November/December and all seemed lost.”We came into this playoff series and into (Game 6) very confident that we could not only take this series to a seven-game series, but also win the series,” Hakstol said. ”We didn’t do that so we came up short. There’s one season that ultimately is successful Tampa Bay Lightning Hoodies Authentic , and obviously we didn’t accomplish that this year. There are a lot of real positives that we’re going to be able to go back and evaluate.”The Flyers clearly aren’t in the class of the two-time defending Stanley Cup champion Penguins. The Flyers and Penguins are often touted as one of the NHL’s fiercest rivalries. The truth is, the Flyers are nothing to the Penguins but a pesky gnat easily swatted away and quickly forgotten. There’s talent in Philly. But enough to win a championship? That’s for general manager Ron Hextall to assemble in the offseason and the years ahead. Here are more things to know as the Flyers head into a long offseason:HAKSTOL’S FUTUREHakstol, a shocking pick to coach the Flyers out of the college ranks, has led the Flyers to two playoff berths in three seasons but not much else. Angry Flyers fans chanted ”Fire Hakstol! Fire Hakstol!” in the playoffs and he’s aware the fans at least want him on the hot seat. But Hakstol and Hextall are tight – Hextall’s son, Brett, played for Hakstol at North Dakota. And there’s little reason to think the GM is going to acknowledge his biggest gamble was also his biggest bust of a move. Hakstol had a reputation from developing young players and there are enough on the roster to merit at least one more season.”It took a lot of young guys growing throughout the year to be able to put together the stretch run that we did have,” he said. ”At the end of the day, we didn’t come into this playoff series to make steps though. We came in to win the series.”SUMMER SHAKEUPThe Flyers may have gone as far as they can with the core of Claude Giroux, who was a Hart Trophy candidate, Wayne Simmonds and Jake Voracek. Simmonds Tampa Bay Lightning Hats Authentic , a former All-Star, could be on the market if the Flyers are committed to a true youth movement.Giroux is the last player left from the `10 finals team and had just one goal and two assists in the playoffs.”We’re gonna keep building here and we’re going to come off strong next year,” Giroux said. The Flyers could look to Nolan Patrick, the No. 2 overall pick of the 2017 draft, to play a more pivotal role next season.WHO’S NO. 1Look no further than Philadelphia’s usual unsettled goaltending to understand why the franchise has gone 42 years without a championship. The Flyers signed former Calgary goalie Brian Elliott to a $5.5 million, two-year deal and he was a bust in the playoffs. Michal Neuvirth and mid-season pickup Petr Mrazek weren’t true No. 1s, either. The 28 goals scored by the Penguins set a new Flyers franchise record for goals against in a six-game series. It tied the franchise record for goals against in any length of series, joining the 1979 New York Rangers team that scored 28 in a five-game series win.Who’s next in net?—– WINNIPEG, Manitoba (AP) — Kyle Connor wasn’t too disappointed about falling short of his first career hat trick. The third-year forward scored twice as the Winnipeg Jets beat Chicago 6-3 on Tuesday night to give the Blackhawks their eighth straight loss.Connor nearly had another goal late in the second period when Chicago goalie Cam Ward made an arcing glove grab. He had other opportunities, too.“Yeah Custom Tampa Bay Lightning Jerseys , that was tough,” Connor said of missing out on the hat trick. “But played a good game, full team effort from top to bottom.”Mark Scheifele and Tyler Myers each had a goal and assist, Mathieu Perreault scored and Brandon Tanev added an empty-net goal for Winnipeg. Dustin Byfuglien had three assists.Laurent Brossoit played his eighth game (seventh start) for the Jets and made 32 saves.Dylan Strome, Dominik Kahun and Alex DeBrincat scored for Chicago. Patrick Kane added a pair of assists and Ward stopped 28 shots,“He was amazing for us,” Kane said of Ward. “He had so many big saves, kept us in the hockey game, gave us a chance to win even when you’re down 4-0. So, yeah www.officialmapleleafsproshop.com , we feel like we left him out to dry obviously, which isn’t fair.”The Blackhawks also lost eight straight earlier this season, although two were in overtime. The current slump is all in regulation time.“If I had it (a reason) I would have fixed it already,” said Chicago head coach Jeremy Colliton, who replaced the fired Joel Quenneville on Nov. 6.“Compete harder early on. I thought we were late to almost every situation in the first period and they have a really good team. They pressure hard and they make a lot of plays. They play like men out there and we just couldn’t match it in the beginning and we paid a price for it.”Winnipeg led 3-0 after the first period, but Chicago came back to make it 4-3 early in the third.Chicago didn’t get its first shot on goal until 17:36 into the game, drawing sarcastic cheers from some fans.“Pretty embarrassing start,” Kane said, adding the slow starts are a bad trend. It was an unusual start for Brossoit, too.“I can’t say that I’ve ever been through that much time without a shot Toronto Maple Leafs T-Shirts Authentic ,” he said. “It was a bit of a challenge, but they came with a bit of a surge and gave me four or five shots all in a row, so I got into the game off that surge.”Scheifele opened the scoring with a power-play goal when he redirected Byfuglien’s point shot at 7:49 for his 17th goal. Myers scored 72 seconds later.Connor’s 12th of the season came after he took the puck most of the way down the ice, lost control of it in the slot, got his stick on it and put a backhand shot past Ward’s glove at 13:38.Connor scored his second goal of the game off a rebound on the power play at 1:44 of the second, but Strome got the visitors on the board 20 seconds later.Duncan Keith had an assist. OTTAWA — Two teams coming off impressive wins will be looking to start the week off on the right note when the Dallas Stars visit the Ottawa Senators at Canadian Tire Centre on Monday. The Senators (2-2-1) jumped into an early three-goal lead then cruised to a 5-1 victory over the Los Angeles Kings on Saturday afternoon. It was a solid bounce back from a mistake-filled three-goal loss to the Philadelphia Flyers which didn’t rattle a young group that — while expected to spend the season dwelling near the conference and division cellars — has adopted a tight Josh Jooris Jersey Womens , family-like bond.“I think we’ve made a conscientious effort that we’re going to have each other’s backs,” said defenseman Chris Wideman, who scored two goals against the Kings in 8:05 of ice time. “Win, lose or draw, were going to work as hard as we possibly can, and give an honest effort. There’s a lot of enjoyment in that.”Article continues below ...Nine of the players on the Senators roster Saturday weren’t with the team for Game 82 last season. Coach Guy Boucher says the new group is “gelling fast” both on and off the ice.“The young guys have been developing, not just because they’re being coached or just getting experience on ice.” Boucher told reporters after Sunday’s brief practice. “A big part is because they’re well surrounded every moment of the day. Even the guys who don’t have anybody in particular are getting help here every day, making sure everybody is incorporated as fast they can and feeling good about being here and feeling part of it.“It’s not just at the rink. The other day we had the Justin Timberlake concert and I think every single player was here. They don’t want to leave anybody out and thats a great thing.?While the Senators built a 3-0 lead on Saturday, the Stars (3-1-0) recovered from one bad game for a 5-3 win over the Anaheim Ducks. Dallas scored four goals during a 6:32 span of a second period in which it outshot the Anaheim Ducks by a 30-4 count.Of that middle 20-minute segment, Stars goalie Anton Khudobin said, per NHL.com: “If I could have a pillow I would probably fall asleep.”The explosive potential of the Stars is going to be something opponents will have to do their best to guard against all season.“We do have that ability, we proved it already Melker Karlsson Jersey ,” Khudobin said. “I think we just need to play like this all 60 minutes. That would be better.”The Stars are determined to qualify for the post-season tournament after falling short the last two seasons. Building on a fast start would help.“You can’t make the playoffs the first 20 games, but you certainly can make it really difficult in the NHL if you don’t keep pace,” Dallas defenseman Connor Carrick, who has a goal and three assists in the first four games, told NHL.com. “We want to establish ourselves with some of the marquee teams in the league, and it’s going to take more than a four-game effort. But if you’re taking four game chunks and go three and one, you look pretty good after 82.” ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) — The Minnesota Wild started the season sluggishly, with a four-day break on the schedule following two flat performances. The spark came midway through this matchup with division rival Chicago, with a big push by Jason Zucker.Ryan Suter tied the game with 23 seconds left in the third period and Zucker scored in overtime, rallying the Wild past the Blackhawks 4-3 on Thursday night.Zucker had two goals and an assist, including a breakaway backhander 3:25 into the extra period. Zach Parise sent a long pass across the red line to a streaking Zucker Tyler Ennis Jersey Womens , whose shot zipped between Cam Ward’s pads to give the Wild (1-1-1) their first win of the season.“I know the way I can play, and tonight was much more like it. I think everybody would’ve said the same thing about the first two games. We all wanted to step up and play well,” Zucker said. “That’s what true leadership is, just guys going out and showing it on the ice.”Suter’s takeaway gave the Wild possession on that play, after he batted in a backhander off a short-handed rebound of Parise’s shot to make it 3-3. The 14-year veteran defenseman, coming off a career-threatening ankle injury in April, had two assists.“The first one’s always the toughest,” Suter said, adding: “It was good to find a way to win. It wasn’t pretty, but it doesn’t really matter.”Particularly his tying goal that emerged from a mass of bodies in front of the net.“When they were banging it on the post, I didn’t see Suter right there on the top of the crease,” Ward said. “That’s desperation on their part Tim Heed Jersey , and good on them.”Alex DeBrincat had two goals and an assist for the Blackhawks, including a go-ahead score on a power play early in the third period, but Devan Dubnyk made 27 saves for the Wild including a thumping denial with his pad of Patrick Kane’s close-range try in overtime.Jonathan Toews kept up his season-opening surge with two assists for the Blackahwks. He set up DeBrincat’s first score during a 4-on-4 with a hard stop on a rush to slide the puck across the slot. Then he fed rookie Dominik Kahun for his first NHL goal less than three minutes later.Patrick Kane assisted on DeBrincat’s second score, giving the Toews-Kane-DeBrincat trio a whopping 22 points in four games. Toews has a team-leading five goals and three assists for the Blackhawks (2-0-2), who have 18 goals in four games after missing the playoffs last spring for the first time in 10 years.Still, on a power play with 1:17 remaining in the third period, they couldn’t help but be frustrated with the outcome.“We should’ve been able to put it away,” DeBrincat said. “We should’ve been able to keep it in their zone and maybe even get a few scoring chances.”Ward, keeping the net warm for the expected return next week of Corey Crawford from a concussion that cut short his 2017-18 season, made a season-high 42 saves for the Blackhawks. Each of their four games have been decided in overtime.“They went to the net hard,” Blackhawks coach Joel Quenneville said, “but he stood his ground and played well.”Eric Staal scored for Minnesota in the second period Alex Pietrangelo Jersey Kids , and Zucker tied it with 2.8 seconds left before the second intermission by snagging Staal’s off-target pass and knocking it past Ward.“It gives you a better vibe, confidence,” Staal said. “It wasn’t the be-all, end-all, but it’s big to get that first win.”NOTES: The 20-year-old DeBrincat, playing on the Toews-anchored first line with Kahun, has 59 points in 86 career games. … The Wild are 12-4-1 in their last 17 games against the Blackhawks. … RW J.T. That has to give quarterbacks nightmares!
I get it. I do. When a team struggles at the rate that the Buccaneers have this season - starting 2-0 to be 5-9 at this point - you get overlooked. When a team isn’t on the big stage or under the bright lights week in and week out Jameis Winston Jersey , you get overlooked. When people vote based on name recognition rather than actual production, good players get overlooked. Now, the Buccaneers are without a Pro Bowl player for the first time since 2009.You mean to tell me that Mike Evans, who has a career high in receiving yards with two games to spare, doesn’t deserve to get in?You mean to tell me that Jason Pierre-Paul, who has 11.5 sacks, 14 tackles for loss, and 19 quarterback hits doesn’t deserve to get in?You mean to tell me that Ali Marpet, the man who has played at an elite level at three different offensive line positions in three years doesn’t deserve to go?That’s where we are.Lavonte David got snubbed as he always does Carlton Davis Jersey , but 4-3 outside linebackers just don’t get the love that 3-4 outside linebackers do. They don’t put up the sacks or the quarterback hits so they don’t get the accolades and adulation. Don’t get it twisted - Lavonte deserves to be there, too.Gerald McCoy, although not having a big year, had made six consecutive Pro Bowls. Being voted in this year would have tied the franchise record set by Warren Sapp with seven. Did he deserve it this year? Maybe not, but he’s been the one mainstay for the Bucs in that game for a long time. That’s just how this season has been. A largely ignored team that has been a punchline since their red hot start, only making the headlines when it’s something negative - they’re only going to continue to be ignored. Some of these guys will inevitably get in. With players ducking out due to injury or playing in the Super Bowl, the Bucs will inevitably be represented. But it shouldn’t have come to that. That’s what happens when you do nothing but lose for the better part of the last decade, I guess. It’s looking less and less likely that 49ers linebacker Reuben Foster will be playing for the 49ers on Sunday.Foster, arrested on Saturday night in Tampa on one count of misdemeanor domestic violence Anthony Nelson Jersey , remains in jail on Sunday morning, according to Matt Maiocco of NBC Sports California. Foster will appear before a judge, by video monitor, at some point this morning. Bail likely will be set at that time. The 49ers have issued no statements about Foster, and no comment about the situation appears on the team’s Twitter page or official website. When Foster faced domestic violence charges in the offseason, the team seem prepared to move on from the 2017 first-round draft pick if he were found to be legally responsible. After the alleged victim recanted, the case against Foster fell apart.Foster had been listed as questionable for the game against the Buccaneers with a hamstring injury.
So Kyle Shanahan said in his press conference today he needed closers. Since I was having a slow day at work Colin Kaepernick Jersey , my next thought was the epic scene from Glengarry Glen Ross. I can see Shanahan walking into the coaches meeting and Saleh walking over to get a cup of coffee and Shanahan saying the epic line: “Put that coffee DOWN. The 2018 NFL season is over. The 4-12 San Francisco 49ers watched the NFC West champion Los Angeles Rams fall to the New England Patriots 13-3 in Super Bowl 53. The victory gave New England their sixth Super Bowl ring, surpassing the 49ers’ five and joining the Pittsburgh Steelers as the only two franchises with six Lombardi Trophies.49ers general manager John Lynch and Kyle Shanahan, in Year 3 of their rebuild, now set their sights on the start of free agency on March 13th, and the NFL Draft, beginning April 25th. But in 2019, a new offseason dynamic enters the fray — the Alliance of American Football, and there’s a few reasons 49ers fans should tune in.First, and perhaps most important, football no longer ends in February. The AAF has given those that continue to crave the gridiron two more months of potentially quality football leading right up until the NFL Draft. The AAF is a brand new, eight-team professional football league with the intent of becoming both a complement and developmental system for the NFL. The inaugural season begins this Saturday, February 9th Womens Tevin Coleman Jersey , at 5 pm PST on CBS. You can view the complete schedule here. The regular season lasts two months, concluding on Sunday, April, 14th. There are four games every weekend — two on Saturday and two on Sunday (except for one Friday game on April 12). The AAF will feature a four-team playoff similar to college football, concluding with the championship on Saturday, April 27th in Las Vegas. The NFL and NFL Network have already committed to broadcasting 19 AAF games in 2019, airing two games per week on Saturday and Sunday night. The first game of the season will air on CBS, CBS Sports Network will air one game per week, TNT will air one regular season game and one playoff game, and Bleacher Report Live will stream a game each week.A shorter play clock, the absence of TV timeouts, required two-point conversions, no kickoffs, and a college-type overtime are just some of the reasons the AAF should give fans a new and worthwhile viewing experience. Games are expected to take 150 minutes, rather than 180 in the NFL.In addition to the on-field adjustments http://www.49erslockerroom.com/authentic-jimmie-ward-jersey , the AAF is releasing a mobile app this weekend that is expected to bring with it a suite of innovative and intriguing features. Free livestreaming, an animated and interactive recreation of the game in real-time, fantasy football and all-things betting are expected to be integrated into the AAF app over time. The eight inaugural AAF teams are as follows: Arizona Hotshots, Orlando Apollos, Atlanta Legends, Birmingham Iron, Memphis Express, Salt Lake Stallions, San Antonio Commanders, and San Diego Fleet. Roughly 70 percent of the rosters consist of players that have spent time on an NFL team. Among them are dozens of players that, at one point, spent time on the 49ers’ roster, giving fans a chance to check in on some familiar faces.Receiver Quinton Patton (Iron), quarterback B.J. Daniels (Stallions), cornerback Keith Reaser (Apollos) Womens Brock Coyle Jersey , quarterback Scott Tolzien (Iron), defensive tackle Mike Purcell (Stallions), receiver Dres Anderson (Stallions), safety Chanceller James (Stallions), and guard Andrew Tiller (Apollos) are among the over 20 names of former 49ers that are spread across the AAF. Kirk Larrabee of 247Sports did a fantastic job breaking down the former 49ers on each team’s roster, as well as their time spent in San Francisco.Former 49ers head coaches Mike Singletary (Express) and Dennis Erickson (Stallions) were also given chances to once again lead a professional football team. Other notable coaches include Mike Martz (Fleet) and Steve Spurrier (Apollos). Rick Neuheisel is coaching the Hotshots, and you might recall he interviewed for the 49ers head coach job in 2003 while lying to his then employer (University of Washington) about it. Fun times! In addition to former 49ers players and coaches, there’s a good chance you’ll also be watching future NFL players in the AAF. Quality players that slip through the cracks of NFL roster cuts will be given another chance to display their talent in the hopes of another shot in the league. The 49ers’ front office over the past two years has shown an ability to identify players that may have been overlooked through the draft process. Running back Matt Breida and receiver Kendrick Bourne both went undrafted and have now developed into starters on the 49ers’ offense. It won’t take long before AAF players are given tryouts to join an NFL roster. Every player in the AAF is given an out in their contract in case of promotion. The AAF begins its inaugural season on Saturday with the Fleet facing off against the Stallions in San Antonio, and the Legends versus the Apollos in Orlando. On Sunday, the Express face the Iron in Birmingham, and the Hotshots host the Stallions in Phoenix. Will you be watching?
The sentencing date for Seahawks linebacker Mychal Kendricks has been delayed from late January to April 4 http://www.seahawkslockerroom.com/authentic-marshawn-lynch-jersey , according to multiple reports.Kendricks pleaded guilty to insider trading charges in September in U.S. District Court in Pennsylvania. Kendricks admitted that he was given inside information about four companies that were about to be purchased by bigger companies, and that by buying stock with that information, he turned a profit of $1.2 million.Kendricks signed with the Seahawks after Week One of the season and appeared in three games before the NFL levied an eight-game suspension against him for the transgressions. Upon returning to the lineup in December, Kendricks fractured his tibia as part of knee injuries that ended his season. The delay in sentencing could potentially impact the Seahawks’ plans in 2019. Sentencing guidelines call for a sentence of 30-37-months, but the Seahawks have been optimistic of a much short shorter sentence due to his level of cooperation. Head coach Pete Carroll has expressed a desire to bring Kendricks back, who is scheduled to be a free agent.“We鈥檙e looking forward to getting him back next time and keep him with us,” Carroll said after Kendricks’ injury in December. With K.J. Wright also set to be a free agent, Kendricks could be an option for Seattle to move forward instead. However, it will be difficult for him to play if he’s in jail instead. The delay in sentencing would seem to increase that likelihood and could force the Seahawks to adjust their plans for 2019. If sentencing had come at the end of January, they would have known Kendricks’ status prior to free agency beginning. Now they’ll have to wait until three weeks after free agency has begun to know if Kendricks will be an option or not. With Doug Baldwin recovering from multiple offseason surgeries, the Seahawks are taking a closer look at one of the top receivers in this year’s draft class.According to Mike Garafolo of the NFL Network, the Seahawks are bringing in Arizona State wide receiver N’Keal Harry for one of their 30 allotted pre-draft visits.Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll had multiple big-bodied wide receivers come through is program at USC. Mike Williams and Dwayne Jarrett each had huge success in the Trojans’ offense under Carroll. However Tyler Lockett Jersey , outside of a brief stint for Williams with Seattle early in Carroll’s tenure with the Seahawks, the team hasn’t found that type of receiver for Carroll at the pro level. At 6-foot-2, 228 pounds, Harry could fit the mold fairly well. Harry caught 213 passes for 2,889 yards and 22 touchdowns during his three seasons at Arizona State.Seattle signed Tyler Lockett to an extension prior to last season and Baldwin has been consistent for years. However, Baldwin had several injuries last season and has required multiple surgeries to address the issues this spring. And while Jaron Brown and David Moore had bright spots at times for Seattle as tertiary options last year, they combined for just seven catches over the team’s final four regular season games and playoff loss to Dallas. While help alongside Frank Clark at defensive end may be Seattle’s most obvious need, additional receiver help likely isn’t too far behind. Harry could be an option for Seattle at No. 21 overall, if they keep the pick. However, the Seahawks currently only have four selections at their disposal and have never made fewer than eight under G.M. John Schneider. Trading down has been a regular occurrence for Seattle and may be the call yet again later this month.
DETROIT (AP) — Jonathan Huberdeau and the Florida Panthers refused to let a terrible first period ruin their entire night. After trailing by three goals Authentic Oliver Bjorkstrand Jersey , the Panthers roared back and beat the struggling Detroit Red Wings 4-3 when Huberdeau scored the only goal in a shootout Monday.Florida, which has won six of eight, was down 3-0 after the opening period.“We showed some resiliency and we stuck to our plan,” coach Bob Boughner said. “We told the guys after the first period that we weren’t that bad, but they got some breaks and they ended up in our net.”Jared McCann, Henrik Borgstrom and Jayce Hawryluk scored in the second for Florida to tie it.Roberto Luongo allowed three goals on eight shots before being replaced by James Reimer to start the middle period. COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — The Washington Capitals seemed a step faster than the discombobulated Columbus Blue Jackets all night long and took full advantage of some early opportunities. The result was a 4-0 win by the Capitals over the Blue Jackets on Saturday that seemed so easy it was difficult to tell at times that these were two teams fighting for the lead in the rugged Metropolitan Division. For most of the evening, the Blue Jackets didn’t look like they belonged on the same ice with the reigning Stanley Cup champions.Alex Ovechkin scored his NHL-leading 22nd goal and Braden Holtby got his 34th career shutout as the Capitals stayed atop the division, moving three points ahead of Columbus.“It probably helped that we saw what didn’t and what worked against them in the playoffs last year,” said Holtby, who picked up his second shutout of the season. “And so our team knows you can’t play a soft game against them because they’ll turn it the other way quick. Tonight we played the right way and got rewarded for it.”Travis Boyd had a goal and an assist, and Brett Connolly and Dmitrij Jaskin also scored for Washington. Holtby finished with 28 saves.Ovechkin extended his points streak to 11 straight games, with 10 goals and six assists during the stretch. He also picked up an assist on Boyd’s third-period goal.Washington coach Todd Reirden said his captain is contributing in every possible way.“A lot was made of his leadership with us winning the Stanley Cup and the role that he had in it, but his leadership during the regular season this year is the best I’ve seen Womens Patrick Marleau Jersey ,” Reirden said.“That says a lot about him and how he’s really leading the way. It was the first goal of the year for the Washington fourth-liner.Ovechkin’s goal in the closing seconds of the first period was anything but lucky. He was left wide open in front of the net to tap in a pass from Michal Kempny. After that, Columbus coach John Tortorella had seen enough and replaced Bobrovsky with Joonas Korpisalo to start the second period, which seemed to help. After a scoreless second, Boyd got his first goal of the season late in the third to cap the scoring.Bobrovsky had 10 saves in the first period for Columbus, and Korpisalo recorded 14 the rest of the way.“I don’t see us doing the things necessary to win hockey games at crucial times, and they did,” Columbus captain Nick Foligno said. “They played the right way. ATV is one of my favorite players to ever come..."Jim Wyatt announced on Twitter this morning that Alterraun Verner will be signing a 1-day contract with the Titans on Wednesday and then retiring. ATV is one of my favorite players to ever come through this organization. That probably has something to do with the fact that he actually wrote for us at MCM for a while. You can read those posts here.It was a sad day when Verner left in free agency to join the Buccaneers. ATV wasn’t the same player in Tampa Bay and Miami that he was for the Titans. I still wish they could have worked something out for him to stay here because he thrived in this system.Mike Reinfeldt didn’t make very many good picks in his time as the GM in Tennessee Kenny Vaccaro Jersey , but he found a gem in ATV in the 4th round. It is really exciting that he will retire as a member of the Tennessee Titans organization. NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — Some might call Tennessee's push for a second straight playoff berth desperate. Three-time Pro Bowl left tackle Taylor Lewan suggests a different motivation for the Titans."Everyone here has an understanding of what's at stake and we're all willing to do what we've been doing the past few weeks to get it done," Lewan said. "I don't think it matters who gets the credit. … It's been a cool year. We just got to keep it going."Winners of three straight, the Titans (8-6) need to beat Washington on Saturday and Indianapolis in the regular-season finale and have either Baltimore or Pittsburgh lose to nab the AFC's sixth and final seed. Despite an injury-filled season, the Redskins (7-7) still have playoff hopes too, a game back of Dallas in the NFC East with a wild-card slot more likely if they win out."We all got to be ready to step our game up two more notches," said Josh Johnson, the fourth different quarterback to start for Washington this season. "This is a big game."The Titans are coming off their first shutout in 18 years after downing the Giants 17-0 last weekend. They also can finish off a sweep of the NFC East with a win Saturday. The NFL's No. 2 scoring defense is allowing only 18.1 points a game, and the Titans have given up only one offensive touchdown over the past three games.Washington snapped a four-game skid, beating Jacksonville 16-13 last weekend . Redskins coach Jay Gruden says the Titans present a much different defensive challenge for Johnson."He's got to handle the progressions, the snap counts, the formations, the blitz looks that they give you Womens Quinton Spain Jersey , which I can't even tell you how many blitzes there are," Gruden said. "There are about 3,000 we watched, so it's going to be a great challenge for him."Some things to know about Washington and the Titans:RUN HENRY RUNThe big question is what will Titans running back Derrick Henry do next after piling up a franchise-record 408 yards and six touchdowns rushing over his past two games. Henry needs 175 yards to match Hall of Famer Earl Campbell's franchise record of 583 yards rushing in three straight games. Henry needs one TD to match Campbell's seven TDs between Sept. 30, 1979 and Oct. 14, 1979.The Redskins, fourth in the NFL with 25 takeaways, have allowed at least 130 yards rushing in each of their past five games."It's always a welcome (sight) when you're able to run the football in this league," Titans coach Mike Vrabel said.AP ACCOMPLISHMENTWashington running back Adrian Peterson needs 77 more yards rushing to reach 1,000 for the season for the first time since 2015 when he ran for 1,485 for the Minnesota Vikings. Picked up by Washington in August, Peterson has started all 14 games for the Redskins, rushing for seven TDs. No one wants to see him reach the milestone more than Pro Bowl left tackle and fellow Oklahoma Sooner Trent Williams."It's an outstanding accomplishment for a guy who was said to not have anything left Womens Johnathan Cyprien Jersey ," Williams said.MORE TITANIC DTennessee has allowed only one running back to reach 100 yards or more this season, and Houston's Lamar Miller got 97 on one play. They held Ezekiel Elliott to 61 yards on Nov. 5, Leonard Fournette to 36 yards on Dec. 6 and Giants rookie Saquon Barkley to a 2.2-yard average and only 31 yards last week.HALFTIME BREAKTHROUGHWhen Johnson led Washington to a fourth-quarter comeback and a victory last week, he did something no quarterback had done for the franchise since 2016 after rallying from a 10-3 halftime deficit. Washington had lost all seven games this season when trailing at the half with the Redskins' previous victory when trailing at the break coming in 2016 in Philadelphia, a streak of 15 games. Johnson, who made his first start since 2011, wants to build on that momentum in his seventh career start.MISSINGThe Titans' defense is seriously hurting. Starting cornerback Logan Ryan was put on injured reserve Tuesday after breaking his left leg. Linebacker Brian Orakpo, who missed the Giants' game, has yet to practice with an injured elbow, while four-time Pro Bowl defensive tackle Jurrell Casey has missed practice this week with an injured knee. Safety Kenny Vaccaro is working through the concussion protocol.Washington put safety Montae Nicholson on the NFL reserve/non-football injury list Wednesday after he was arrested early Tuesday.
up short against the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday afternoon Womens Lavonte David Jersey , 37-34. After trailing 29-7 at halftime and 34-16 in the fourth quarter, Ryan Fitzpatrick led the Bucs all the way back.Fitzpatrick, in relief of Jameis Winston, was able to put together three scoring drives in the final frame to give Tampa Bay a shot. Unfortunately, after tying the game with 1:05 to play, the Buccaneers defense fell apart on the final drive. Andy Dalton nickle and dimed his way downfield before finding A.J. Green twice to put the Bengals into field goal range. The rest is history. Winners1. Mike EvansMike Evans recorded his most receiving yards since the season-opener in the game against Cincinnati. The former Texas A&M star hauled in six catches for 179 yards and one touchdown. His 72-yard score in the fourth quarter helped Tampa Bay get back in the game. Evans is currently on pace to have his best season ever. 2. Jason Pierre-PaulThrough seven games a year ago, the Buccaneers defense had recorded a total of seven sacks. Jason Pierre-Paul already has eight sacks of his own in seven games this season and as a whole, Tampa Bay has notched 16 sacks. After failing to get a sack in the season-opener, Pierre-Paul has gotten to the quarterback at least once in the last six weeks. The former New York Giant is looking to be the first Buc to record double-digits sacks in a season since Simeon Rice (14) in 2005. 3. Ryan FitzpatrickThough he played just over a quarter, Fitzpatrick was arguably the MVP of the Tampa Bay offense. He finished 11/15 for 194 yards and two touchdowns to try and lead the Buccaneers to a come from behind win. After coming in following Winston’s four interceptions, Tampa Bay’s offense found a rhythm under Fitzpatrick. The Bucs scored 17 points in the fourth quarter to give themselves a shot before the defense collapsed on the final drive. Going forward, it’s viable that Fitzpatrick could take over at quarterback, especially with Winston’s turnover issues. This coaching staff has a heck of a decision to make. Losers1. Dirk KoetterJust like the coaching staff has a decision to make on its quarterback, the organization has a decision to make on its head coach. Is the Dirk Koetter era in Tampa Bay on its final few wheels? After going 9-7 and barely missing the playoffs in 2016, the Buccaneers slid back to 5-11 a year ago. With Winston suspended for the first two games to start 2018, many figured this team would struggle without him.Instead, they had one of the top offenses in the NFL and got out to a 2-0 start. However, the defense has struggled all season and Koetter was forced to part ways with defensive coordinator Mike Smith just two weeks ago. When Winston returned, the offense found itself with a turnover problem and that has ultimately led us here, to a crossroads. Koetter’s vertical passing scheme doesn’t fit Winston’s strength’s well. He’s more suited for a west coast offense that is less complex and makes things easier on the quarterback. This organization is going to have to choose, Koetter or Winston? 2. Jameis WinstonWinston has thrown 10 interceptions, culminating with four against Cincinnati, in his three and a half games back. He’s made plenty of plays but the mistakes have overshadowed the success. All four of his interceptions on Sunday were easily throws the fourth-year quarterback shouldn’t have made. Winston just seems unable to throw passes away, opting instead to look for big plays every down. It’d be exciting if it was working, but it isn’t.Tampa Bay picked up Winston’s fifth-year contract back in April, which will pay him $20.9 million in 2016. Like I said above, a decision has to be made about which way will the organization will move going forward. 3. DefenseThough Winston didn’t give them much help, Tampa Bay’s defense didn’t do itself any favors against the Bengals. The Buccaneers failed to force a turnover for the third time in four games. Ironically Womens Carlton Davis Jersey , the only turnover they’ve gotten in that time is a fumble recovery on a kickoff. Whether it was through the air or on the ground, Cincinnati moved the ball however it wanted to in the first half. In the second half, Tampa Bay did tighten up and force four three and outs and five punts overall. But when it counted most, the Buccaneers reverted back to form, allowing Dalton to drive down the field and set up the game-winning kick for the Bengals. Cincinnati's top play makers picked Tampa Bay apart. Joe Mixon rushed 21 times for a career-high 123 yards and two touchdowns. A.J. Green and Tyler Boyd combined for 214 yards and two touchdowns on 14 catches.Key plays from Bucs Week 1 victory The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are undefeated! It’s a corny joke, but it’s a fun one.In all seriousness, the Bucs did some damage by putting 48 points on the New Orleans Saints to get their first win of the season. It was also their first road win, win against a 2017 playoff team and win against a division rival. Not bad for one week’s work. All of the scoring plays are important, but we’re here for the ones that helped establish the success which led to the scoring, and more importantly, the winning. Here are your key plays from the Buccaneers’ Week 1 win against the New Orleans Saints! The Play: Big Aggression in the Big EasyTampa Bay and offensive coordinator Todd Monken came into Week 1 with one word in mind: Attack. And attack they did. Our first play is more stylistic than the rest, and so I’ve brought you three examples. The first one, a big strike to DeSean Jackson deep as he ran past Saints safety Marcus Williams to tie the game early in the first quarter. Then, the Bucs’ ground game got going with a couple of big runs by Peyton Barber. In this one, Williams is victim to Barber’s momentum and strength as he plows through the safety for a first down. Finally, quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick got into the action with his legs and shoulder as well as his arm. This score helped get his team to a ten point lead before the end of the first quarter. Again, it was Williams who felt the pain of the Tampa Bay aggression.Williams and the Saints certainly took the game plan established by the Buccaneers early and often. These three plays are just a few examples of the attack the offense brought into hostile territory. The Play: Curry Wants a PuntWith just around ten minutes left to play in the first half, there hadn’t been a single punt in the 17-17 game. Vinny Curry had enough of it, and on third-and-four the Super Bowl Champion stepped up to get his first sack of the season and as a Buccaneer. The Tampa Bay offense not only made good on Curry’s efforts, but rewarded the team with a touchdown pass from Fitzpatrick to Chris Godwin and bled five minutes of the clock in the process. The Play: Fitzmagic Gets RollingRolling may not be the right word. Moving, or more specifically, running would fit better.Fitzpatrick had 36-yards on twelve carries, and two stuck out to me a little more than the others. Well, two more on top of the touchdown run we talked about earlier.First, on a second and eight in the red zone with five and a half minutes remaining in the half, and his Bucs tied with the Saints at 17 a piece. The previous play was a short pass to Jacquizz Rodgers, and there was a sense that how this drive ended was going to have a big part to play in deciding who won this game.Following a timeout, the veteran quarterback came back to the line Womens Ronald Jones II Jersey , made an adjustment and promptly took what can only be referred to as an un-designed quarterback draw.Fox’s coverage team explained just why it looks like an uncalled for quarterback draw, and the lack of blocking behavior from the receivers is the biggest indicator. This run set the Buccaneers up with a third and six, which isn’t much better than eight, but it’s enough to force the defense to play honest.New Orleans’ honestly allowed Fitzpatrick and Godwin enough room to connect for the go ahead touchdown as the Bucs took a 24-17 lead. The second run came at the end of the game. This time on a third down play, Fitzpatrick didn’t scramble for a better next play, he scrambled to take a knee. The long run not only showed just how smart Fitzpatrick can be, it showed just how much the Saints learned to respect the team’s receiver threats. If they aren’t all running downfield with the receivers, then Fitzpatrick doesn’t have the room to run. He did. He took it. And three knees later, the Buccaneers walked out of New Orleans with the win because of it.The Play: Scoop and ScoreUp until this point it was mostly back and forth. The Saints fired the first shots and from there it was on. First, the sack leading to the first punt of the game allowed the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to take serve. This play, gave them a lap up on the home team. That’s a lot of sports analogies, but I think you get the jist.Vernon Hargreaves poked it loose and Justin Evans took it back for the score. The two score lead was big, and obviously turned out to be just what they needed. The Final Play: New Year, New Wrinkles3rd-and-3, clock is under 7:30 to go in the game and the Bucs are up two scores. Let’s be honest here folks. We all expected a run, draw or screen.Instead, we got a 35-yard pass to DeSean Jackson over cornerback Ken Crawley. The 2017 Buccaneers would’ve never done that, or they wouldn’t have done it well. Last year, this would have been Charles Sims territory nine times out of ten. Of course, it’s likely they also wouldn’t have secured the win here. There was frustration late as many feel like the Bucs let off the gas too early. But this is evidence that with fewer than eight minutes remaining, Monken hadn’t gotten too one dimensional with his offense just yet.Unfortunately, Jackson was injured on the play, but will hopefully be healthy enough to play against the Eagles this coming weekend. It stands as just one more example of how this year’s offense is just so different than last year’s.This year, it wasn’t a screen to Sims or anyone else, at least this week it was nine-route to Jackson. And it was fantastic.
They hired 2 new assistants to the defensive staff. Kirk Kocurek was hired as the defensive line coach after spending last season in the same role with the Miami Dolphins. The 49ers had an opening after letting go of Jeff Zgonina. The 49ers are also hiring Joe Woods as their defensive passing game coordinator. Joe spent last season as the Denver Broncos’ defensive coordinator and has a long history of coaching defensive backs. He replaces Jeff Hafley who went to Ohio State.Tuesday also brought a few recognitions for some of the 49ers. Biggest news being that DeForest Buckner will officially make his 1st Pro Bowl. He is taking Fletcher Cox’s roster spot on the team. Pro Football Writers of America named their All-NFC team on Tuesday. TE George Kittle and KR Richie James were named on the team. That was not the only recognition Richie James received. He along with Mike McGlinchey were named to ESPN’s All Rookie team. The season was not what the team expected to have Tarvarius Moore Jersey White , but it is great to see some of the players recognized for their performances. Lastly, this Antonio Brown talk will drag on for months. The 49ers will obviously have talks about AB because he is such a special player. When a player of his caliber is an option, you have to explore it. But do not expect to have anything happen quickly. His name will be brought up a lot this offseason. If the 49ers can get him and it makes business sense, no reason not to take him. He will elevate this offense. We have a long offseason and we will get tired of this AB talk until something actually develops from it.49ers linksJerry definitely wants AB here | Jerry Rice-Antonio Brown (Inman)He absolutely fits | Jerry on Antonio’s fit with the 49ers (Cohn)Great honor for both | George Kittle and Richie James on All-NFC team (Maiocco)Every position is a need | Defensive needs (Renner)Great honor for both players |All-Rookie Team (Almquist)Antonio’s desire (Madson)He should be the backup. It remains to be seen if the Pittsburgh Steelers will trade him, but Brown seems ready to part ways. And it has provided an opportunity for some social media work that is a mix of outright trolling, and playing on the edges. On Sunday, Brown had removed the Pittsburgh Steelers from his Twitter bio. Given his desire to leave Terrell Owens Jersey , this is not exactly a shocking revelation. Also on Sunday, he posted a couple notable pictures to his Instagram story. It appears he had a Facetime chat with Jerry Rice, and then someone painted a picture combing Brown in his Steelers uniform with Rice in his 49ers uniform. He has made it very clear he is a big fan of Jerry Rice, so I don’t think it’s necessarily the craziest of trolling for him to post these kinds of pictures. That being said Jerick McKinnon Jersey , given the context of the past few weeks, I don’t see why we can’t view this as Brown further poking the bear. And it’s safe to say this offseason of bear-poking is going to last a while.
streak against the San Francisco 49ers came to a disappointing end D.K. Metcalf Seattle Seahawks Jersey , as the now 4-10 Niners beat their rivals 26-23 in overtime to deny the Seahawks a playoff berth for at least one week. Yes, there was bad officiating, but also sloppy play, sloppy weather, and other factors that contributed to Seattle’s demise. But when you look at what has happened around the league this week... maybe it was inevitable?Week 15 started off with the Kansas City Chiefs losing to the Los Angeles Chargers on the game’s final offensive play, blowing a 28-14 lead and thus the AFC West. As it turns out, a Chiefs win would’ve clinched the #1 seed in addition to the division (more on that later). It was the Chargers’ first win against the Chiefs since Week 17 of the 2013 season, when a first-team Chargers side had to beat a second-string, Chase Daniel-led Kansas City squad in overtime just to make the playoffs. A great time for the Chargers to snap a nine-game losing streak vs. KC, and they could end up as the #1 seed in the AFC if all breaks right for them.Saturday night, the Cleveland Browns’ feint playoff hopes were kept alive courtesy of a 17-16 win over the Denver Broncos, whose head coach Vance Joseph ought to be fired for this mindlessness. It was Cleveland’s first win over the Broncos since 1990. Two iterations of the Browns have had 11 cracks at Denver over a near-three decade span, but couldn’t beat them. Denver’s fading playoff hopes, which took a hit when they had their own loss to the 49ers last week, are done now. At the same time as the Seahawks-49ers, the Pittsburgh Steelers held off the New England Patriots for a pivotal 17-10 win, when a loss would’ve momentarily knocked them out of the playoffs. It snapped a five-game losing skid against the Patriots for Mike Tomlin’s bunch, marking his first win over New England since 2011. It’s also the first time since 2002 that the Patriots have lost consecutive December games. New England might very well fail to get a first-round bye, and as alluded to earlier, a Steelers win was what the Chiefs needed to clinch the #1 seed in the AFC... except they didn’t beat the Chargers, so their playoff seeding is still up in the air.Sometimes “shit happens,” and I think that’s an apt description for Week 15. A lot of long droughts all just ended within a 72-hour span, and you just have to move on and look at the next opponent. Patrick Mahomes is athletic, agile 鈥?and ambidextrous, apparently. Thanks in part to a nifty left-handed throw as he was about to get sacked by Von Miller at midfield on the game-winning drive, the right-handed Mahomes rallied the unbeaten Kansas City Chiefs past the Denver Broncos 27-23 on Monday night.By overcoming a 10-point fourth-quarter deficit, the Chiefs (4-0) took a two-game lead over the Broncos (2-2), their AFC West rivals whom they've now beaten six straight times. The only other remaining unbeaten team is the Los Angeles Rams.Down 23-13, Mahomes directed a 12-play, 75-yard drive that ate up more than six minutes and culminated with a 2-yard TD toss to tight end Travis Kelce. After a three-and-out by Denver Youth D.K. Metcalf Jersey , Mahomes added a 60-yard touchdown drive, handing off to Kareem Hunt for the 4-yard score with 1:39 remaining. On that last drive, Mahomes was getting dragged down by Miller on third-and-5 at midfield when he shifted the ball to his left hand and threw it to Tyreek Hill a yard past the first-down marker at the Broncos 49."He's actually more athletic than people" realize, Denver linebacker Brandon Marshall said. "People talk about his arm, but he can move out of the pocket and make the necessary throws."Even with his left hand."I didn't know he threw it with his left hand," marveled Miller. "He's a great quarterback.""Patrick worked real hard on that left-handed throw," Chiefs coach Andy Reid quipped. "Some amazing plays there. We've seen it in practice but not under those conditions."Mahomes proved slippery all night."We played well and we got to him but he would scramble out to his right as he likes to do," Marshall said. "It's almost like we'd have him in our fingertips and he'd scramble away and throw for a first down."The kid can play. He's going to be really good. He's really good right now, but we should have won the game."It was the first time since 2004 that the Broncos blew a 10-point fourth-quarter lead at home.RUN, ROOKIES, RUNIn between Kansas City's scoring drives, the Broncos, who had run roughshod over the Chiefs all night 鈥?a 7.2-yard average per run 鈥?suddenly abandoned their ground game in favor of three-wide receiver sets that resulted in a quick three-and-out that sent Denver's exhausted defenders right back out."We ran the ball to control the game," Broncos coach Vance Joseph said, "but you throw the ball to score."After the three-and-out, struggling Broncos punter Marquette King shanked a 35-yarder out of bounds, giving the Chiefs the ball at their 40 with 4:35 left."He's got to perform better," Joseph said. "We're at home and it's his job to flip the field. It ain't happening."If anything, the Broncos' 1-2 punch of rookie running backs needed more work.Phillip Lindsay ran 16 times for 69 yards and a TD and Royce Freeman ran eight times for 67 yards and a TD.Freeman took a toss from Case Keenum and slipped seven tackles on his way to a 14-yard touchdown in which he dragged linebacker Anthony Hitchens across the goal line in the first half.BIG BLUNDERSMahomes overcame a couple of flags that put Kansas City in a second-and-30 hole from their 31 and completed consecutive passes covering 23 and 35 yard to reach the Broncos' 11 at the 2-minute warning. That last play never should have counted because the play clock expired well before the snap. But referee Craig Wrolstad's crew missed it. Joseph said he raised the issue with an official who insisted the Chiefs had gotten the play off in time."I disagree. I disagree," Joseph said.Cornerback Chris Harris Jr. said there should be some recourse when the officials blow a call."If a ref messes up on a call, yeah, you should be able to fix it. Go back and fix. Like, 'Dude, look how long the clock was on zero?' I mean, c'mon," Harris said. "That wasn't the reason we lost the game. We still had plenty of chances but that was a huge, huge no-call."The officials had another blunder when Mahomes was about 1陆 yards past the line of scrimmage when he scrambled and hit Kelce for a 29-yard catch to the 3 early in the second half. Joseph appeared to be reaching for his red challenge flag but never threw it.Denver's defense bailed out its coach by forcing the Chiefs to settle for a field goal.NATIONAL ANTHEMThomas and Broncos teammate Brandon Marshall both stood with their teammates during the national anthem. Tuukka Rask returned to practice on Tuesday after taking a three-day leave of absence to attend to a personal matter.“This is a family and we are a family and we take care of each other when times are tough Youth Jordan Weal Jersey ,” Rask said about the team he’s been with since 2006.The Bruins granted Rask the leave of absence on Friday. Rask acknowledged the matter was related to his family, but didn’t share details.“I have a job, my job is to be a hockey goalie for the Boston Bruins,” he said Tuesday. “And I also have another job title, that’s a family man http://www.officialflyersproshop.com/authentic-adidas-nolan-patrick-jersey , and this was a time that deep inside my heart I felt like I needed to take time to be with my family and make things right so I could be back here and focus on my job.”When asked if he felt unburdened after the time off, he said “yes” and added “resigning (or) quitting the job wasn’t” something he considered. The 31-year-old Rask is second on the Bruins’ all-time list in games played (457) and wins (242). He’s 12 games and 11 wins from passing Tiny Thompson for the franchise records. This season, he’s struggled with a 4-4-0 record, .901 save percentage and 3.05 goals-against average. But he didn’t draw a line between his off-ice issues and what’s happened on the ice.“It hasn’t affected my job,” he said. “I’m not going to make excuses that I played good games or bad games because of my personal life. … Those are not easy decisions and things happen in people’s lives that you kind of do some soul searching and try to seek the best answer.”The Bruins won both games over the weekend. Goaltender Jaroslav Halak stopped 77 of 79 shots in a 5-1 win against the Toronto Maple Leafs on Saturday and a 4-1 win against the Vegas Golden Knights on Sunday. Boston is 10-5-2 and tied for second place in the Atlantic Division. The Bruins won’t rush Rask into game action. Coach Bruce Cassidy said Halak will start the next game on the road against the Colorado Avalanche on Wednesday.Rask will start either Friday at the Dallas Stars or Saturday at the Arizona Coyotes.“He’s been here a long time Scott Laughton Jersey , he’s a big part of the team, so it’s good to see him back,” Cassidy said. “Hopefully, the time away was what he needed to get squared away and he’s ready to get back to work. That’s kind of the approach we’re going to take with him and see how it plays out going forward.” TORONTO (AP) The Toronto Maple Leafs have taken another step in shuffling their front office.Following the elevation of Kyle Dubas to general manager this month, assistant general manager Mark Hunter and senior adviser Lou Lamoriello are now gone.Toronto announced Tuesday that Hunter and the club had agreed to part. ST. PAUL Tomas Tatar Jersey Womens , Minn. (AP) — losing streak, the Anaheim Ducks got a spark after a roster makeover. The Minnesota Wild were left reeling after the trade of a popular teammate.John Gibson made 37 saves for his second shutout of the season, Adam Henrique and Rickard Rakell scored 11 seconds apart in the first period and the re-tooled Ducks snapped a franchise-record 12-game losing streak by beating the Wild 3-0 on Thursday night.Brian Gibbons added his second goal of the season for Anaheim, which made four trades in the previous three days.“I think you lose 12 in a row, you need to change something,” Gibson said. “I’m not saying anything about the guys that moved or anything like that, but I think you get new players, you get some new faces, you get some new energy in here and it helped us and we fed off that. We needed a change, and tonight it worked out and we have to keep going with it.”The Ducks added forwards Devin Shore and Derek Grant, and defenseman Michael Del Zotto in a series of deals, along with receiving minor league forward Justin Kloos in an exchange with Minnesota.“Hopefully, we hit a few buttons that can give ourselves some life here and some momentum that we can carry this forward,” Anaheim coach Randy Carlyle said of the win.Alex Stalock allowed three goals on eight shots for the Wild before being pulled in favor of Devan Dubnyk, who stopped 15 shots after he was expected to get another night of rest.Minnesota has also been busy making deals. Earlier Thursday, Minnesota traded forward Nino Niederreiter to the Carolina Hurricanes for center Victor Rask. Pontus Aberg played his first game for the Wild after being acquired from Anaheim for Kloos.“Yeah, a guy was traded mid-afternoon and they find out at 4 o’clock or what have you,” Minnesota coach Bruce Boudreau said. “But our job is our job. I mean, we’re professionals. Trades happen. They had six transactions and I didn’t see them worrying about it.”The Ducks started quickly in this one as Henrique scored his eighth goal of the season just 3:57 into the game. Just 11 seconds later, Shore drove the net and had the puck poked away by Stalock. But the loose puck when right to Rakell in front and he had an open net for his ninth goal of the season.Shore was playing his second game with Anaheim since being acquired from Dallas.Gibbons scored less than four minutes later Tom Kuhnhackl Jersey Womens , tipping a shot from the point from defenseman Andy Welinkski and ending Stalock’s night.“Sometimes that’s all it takes,” Ducks captain Ryan Getzlaf said. “You get young guys in the lineup and they play with energy and they did their job great tonight.”Dubnyk, the Wild’s All-Star representative, had started 16 of 17 games before Stalock led Minnesota to a win against Los Angeles on Tuesday with 31 saves. Boudreau said Dubnyk was feeling tired and tried to give his top netminder another night off Thursday.“We’ve got to start winning or it’s more stuff like that is going to happen,” Minnesota forward Zach Parise said of the trades. “You never want to be in that position where you’re putting yourself in a spot where they have to make that decision and all of a sudden you have to start getting rid of players. It’s a tough spot to be in and I just hope that we can rebound and climb ourselves back in.”NOTES: Del Zotto and Kloos were scratched for Anaheim. NEW YORK (AP) — Barclays Center is newer, sleeker and has the better food options. Nassau Coliseum has the history. With the New York Islanders splitting their home games between the two arenas this season, their fans have always been clear about their preference. They don’t care much for Barclays Center, located in Brooklyn. They still love the renovated Coliseum, which is far more intimate and much more convenient for the Islanders’ fan base that remains concentrated on Long Island.“It’s a hockey arena here,” said Peter Rotolo, who was at the Coliseum for a game in January. “Barclays is like, the sightlines are terrible, the seats are terrible. It’s a beautiful arena, but it’s a basketball arena and a concert arena. It never was made for hockey.”Fans like Rotolo never fully accepted the Islanders’ move to Brooklyn in 2015 after the franchise spent its first 43 years at the Coliseum, winning four straight Stanley Cup championships from 1980-84. They complained about the bad views and many obstructed seats at the arena, which was built for the Brooklyn Nets, and clamored for the team’s return to the Coliseum in Uniondale Anthony Beauvillier Jersey Womens , 30 miles and seemingly a world away. They got their wish with a unique arrangement as the NHL decided to split up the home games between the two very different venues. The arrangement is expected to remain in place until the Islanders’ new arena at Belmont Park, adjacent to the horse racing track, is ready for the 2021-22 season. Construction isn’t slated to begin until May.All of which means there are two homes for the first-place Islanders for at least the next two seasons and what’s left of this one.“They should have never left,” said David Levy, a fan from Melville who attended a game at the Coliseum with his son and two nephews. “We used to come here all the time. I go to Brooklyn, it’s beautiful but it’s a very, very long commute. … This is much more convenient. They blew it when they didn’t just rebuild the arena here.”The Islanders played their first 11 home games this season in Brooklyn, then began an 18-game stretch on Dec. 1 in which they are splitting games between the venues, before closing their home schedule with the final 12 on Long Island. The last game at Barclays Center will be Feb. 16 against the Edmonton Oilers, though it has not been announced how any playoff games will be handled.Josh Rosenberg, who lives about 10 minutes away from the Coliseum, said he will go wherever the team plays but prefers the Coliseum for its proximity and the atmosphere.“I’ve been coming to Brooklyn since they first started,” the Freeport resident said at Barclays Center. “I mean, it sucks to pay the extra fee to ride the train but I’m a die-hard fan. I’ll take the Coliseum any day, but I don’t mind taking the trip out here. (The Coliseum has) a way better vibe. It’s packed all the time, everybody’s cheering and the real fans are there.”The team’s move to Brooklyn was announced in 2012 after a failed attempt to secure public financing for a new arena on Long Island and zoning approval was rejected for a privately funded development plan that would have included renovations to the Coliseum. It was announced as a 25-year deal and appeared to secure the Islanders’ future in New York amid talk the team could move to another city.Whatever the cozy charm many saw in the old Coliseum, the renovations were welcomed and the noise level has remained deafening.Attendance figures reflect the fans’ preference. In seven games at the Coliseum this season, the Islanders have averaged 13,568 fans with four sellouts of 13,917. They have drawn an average of 10 Dustin Tokarski Jersey Womens ,788 with no sellouts at Barclays Center, which has a capacity of 15,795. Overall, the Islanders are last among the 31 NHL teams with an average attendance of 11,599.Veteran coach Barry Trotz, in his first year with the Islanders after winning a championship in Washington last season, has raved about the Coliseum as one of the old-style arenas that put fans closer to the ice and helps energize the home team. He contends the arena is worth 10-12 extra points over a season compared to elsewhere. So far, the Islanders are 5-1-1 on Long Island, and 9-6-2 in Brooklyn. The arrangement calls for the two arenas to evenly split the games for three years. This season, the Coliseum is getting 21, while Barclays is getting 20. It is uncertain what the breakdown will be in ensuing years.BSE Global, which operates both arenas, shares the fans’ desires to have the team play all its games at the Coliseum. The NHL opposed the Islanders’ full return to the Coliseum, due mainly to it having a smaller capacity than every other arena in the league, but acquiesced to the split arrangement. The players like the Coliseum, too. The arena and the team’s practice facility at Eisenhower Park a mile away are less than 30 minutes from their homes. In comparison, afternoon traffic in New York can make the trip to Barclays Center more than 75 minutes. Some players commute to Brooklyn on the Long Island Rail Road and then take car services home.“At the end of the day it doesn’t matter where you play,” veteran forward Matt Martin said. “You got to go out there and do your job, take care of business and win hockey games. The approach overall doesn’t change.”
